Windows blue screen of death - out of the box

This is the 3rd I've purchased for our boys over the years. This particular one has an issue and will be returned. The OS blue screened several times on Christmas day. I then reset the OS using the Asus OS image and it did work for a little while. It's now back to blue screening at random. It's still within the return period and this isn't something I feel I should be troubleshooting since it's never worked right. I suspect it has a bad memory module, but it's soldiered on the mainboard so there's not much I can do about it.

BEAST OF A LAPTOP

The best windows laptop I have used in years and the performance definitely surpasses the MacBook Air I had. I recommend it for gaming and engineers.

However, it has some issues: - The docks are not suitable for Type-C ports; you cannot charge it from Type-C due to software limitations. - The OLED flexies are exposed to the outside, and there is no protection. It means, it can break or damage easily but simply by closing or opening the screen. The screen replacement is not cheap. - The installed SSD performance is bad. You need to replace it with another one. - The mousepad can lag sometimes can be unresponsive due to the size and sensitivity issues with the sensors.

The USB-C port, although it support power delivery, maximum power draw is 100 watts. This is not adequate to charge the laptop efficiently. This laptop requires a 180 watts power to charge properly. ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free, issues you have had with this laptop are random. ASUS provides warranty coverage for the product. We recommend you send the product in for service to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately. Runs a bit on the hot side even when using just the AMD processor GPU when on battery. But overall a really nice versatile machine. Also, the audio is amazing!

It's the main reason I chose this laptop. The overall design is really great. I love it. I don't buy many laptops or pre-builts but I was pleased to find there was a relatively minimal amount of bloatware installed so it didn't waste too much of my time. I did uninstall Armory Crate and am currently using G-Helper instead but I'm not sure if that's necessarily a better option yet. I love the slim 14-inch form factor but the drawback to that is it's relatively underpowered for a 4070. Running 3D Mark benchmarks and it doesn't even score above the "gaming laptop" mark on the charts. This is okay as that's kind of a secondary use for me but it's something to be aware of. You're not going to be running demanding games at high settings on the built-in 3k OLED screen. Overall I really love the laptop and am happy with my purchase.

It runs hot but performs as well as PS5. I would not recommend buying a gaming PC if you do not really like any modern games or social aspects of gaming. But I did not want any situation where an app tells me I can't use it. This laptop seems to work for that if you can keep your sanity using Windows 11.
