It's just a Chromebook, but it has a very large touch screen and lighted keyboard. It works very well for what it is. We use it for travel and around the house. It is heavier than the smaller Chromebooks but it is still very portable. The weight would only be an issue if you need to carry it around with you all day, like a student.

So, I have a few laptops but was in the market for a large screen over 17 inches . I got to thinking that a Chromebook might be able to fit my needs . All I really want to do on this laptop is web-browse , play some Play Store Games , and maybe a little bit of word processing . So anyhow , this is the " NEW 317 " that has very few reviews . Touchscreen , Intel Silver 6000 processor , nice speakers , and a very light laptop for the size . After using for a day , I am very pleased that I got this computer . It is very speedy for the web pages . The display is a full HD , and the keyboard is very comfortable . It has everything I was seeking for a fair price . If you are familiar with chromebooks and are seeking a large sharp display , I think most users will be happy with this purchase . If my opinion changes , I will update this review !

I'm writing this review a year after purchase and the Chromebook is still working fine. I like the big full hd screen. Works good for videos and can handle a pretty good load on the processers. But like all Chromebooks I've seen it can be a bit buggy with flaws that come and go with the updates. Overall good device but a bit overpriced at close to $400 I spent at time of purchase.

Had an Acer chromebook (15.6") for years. Never let me down, but Google ended software uodate support months ago Perfectly good chromebook, but without updates, it got slower and slower. This one is speedy, screen is bright and crisp, numeric keyboard is super! Excellent price on sale. Word of warning: Had an aftermarket metal fitbit watchband with magnetic closure. Every time I rested my wrist to type, the magnet would reset the chromebook. Cloth watchband with velcro and no more unintended reboots!.

Really great laptop for the price. Only cons I would say is the volume isn't too loud. Battery life is fantastic very easy to use laptop. Definitely recommend.

We wanted a new laptop to replace an aging Dell windows laptop. I hesitated at first buying a Chromebook but now we are thrilled with the purchase. We don't use our laptop for spreadsheets or word docs, rather internet browsing, paying bills and online retail purchases and this Acer is perfect! Great screen and super battery life. Extra bonus is the backlit keyboard. Highly Recommend!

It is a great chrome book and I very much like the size. My only problem is the weight. For me being and elderly woman I will have to find a place I can leave it with out having to carry it. I am having some trouble getting used to the large keyboard, as my other one was 14 inches. In time I am sure I will get better acquainted with it.

There's really nothing not to love about this Chromebook it's got a great strain on it the color is great the keys are lit and the security is fantastic the price was perfect like I said nothing to complain about.

Great machine. I purchased it for my mom after her older laptop stopped working. It was a slight learning curve using Google Chrome OS vs Windows but she loves it. Super big and bright screen and the backlit keyboard is her favorite feature. I almost bought 2 since my Chromebook is smaller and a few years older.

The only problem encountered is that the maximum volume is too soft. It is difficult to hear shows. Otherwise the device is attractive. It's 17.3 screen is a great size. The resolution is clear. Ido not know why it doesn't have adequate volum. Settings set for max but that is lacking.

I like this Chromebook. I especially like the large screen. It's great for looking at and sharing pictures. Typing on the keyboard is comfortable, and I enjoy having the option of using the touch screen. The mouse pad is easy to use also. Of course, I was delighted that I was able to buy it while it was on sale. I'm a very satisfied customer.

Love this product! So happy with my purchase! I have been needing to update my laptop for awhile and I am so please with my choice. The only thing I may have upgraded to now is more memory. You can always use more memory.

I purchased this Acer 317 Chromebook on a pre Black Friday sale! At $259.00 this was an excellent deal! The Pentium Silver N6000 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM is a very capable device! The 17.3" FHD screen looks great while streaming movies, television sitcoms or gaming! The full size backlit keyboard is also a plus and was great to type with! The key travel was not bad and it was comfortable to use! I was really impressed that I was able to install Steam on this Chromebook and run Half Life 2, Civilization VI and Metro Last Light Complete Edition as well as some of my favorite Android games! Everything ran fine and looked great once I installed the chromeOS updates, enabled some flags and tweaked my display settings! I do have a more powerful Acer Spin Chrombook as well! But since this one was on sale for such a good price purchased it for the larger screen to use on my desk while working! The speakers were not not superb but they were far from being inferior! The movies that I have streamed had great sound quality and my music library sounded great as well! The higher bit rate mp3's do make a difference in the sound quality and sounded great on this Chromebook! I was able to use the built in Google suite of productivity applications, my Microsoft Office 365 subscription and Libre Office for Linux! These all ran as expected with no issues! I am really impressed with this Acer 317 Chromebook! The only thing I will say is that it is a solid device and does have some heftiness to it despite being all plastic! This may hinder the portability of this device for some! But I use it on my desk with a wireless mouse so that extra weight does not bother me! I definitely recommend this Chromebook if you are looking for a larger screen than the traditional Chromebooks on the market! This is a very capable device depending on how you intend to use it! As with any purchase offers this nature, you want to tailor your purchase to your budget and use case! No need to spend more on a device if a less expensive capable device will handle your desired tasks! But by all means if you desire or need a more powerful device there are also many other options available!

This is the best chromebook I have gotten. It's 8GB vs 4gb for previous devices and it is very responsive. The colors on the screen are also better than older chromebooks.

I never had a Chromebook, I always had a Windows laptop. This laptop is so much faster and it never slows down. I will always buy a Chromebook from now on.
