This is exactly everything I was looking for!! Light up keyboard, fast speeds 2.4ghz, and a 10 keypad.
I can have at least 6-7 different pages open and it works great!! I bought this for my online college courses I am taking. I will have 4 pages from my online school and pandora playing on another page.
I do not use this for gaming, strictly for office work and school. I do have slot of video tutorials I have to watch.
It is perfect for what I use it for. I needed a faster and lighter laptop computer. Absolutely Love it!!

Bought this for 12 yr old gamer. His first true gaming device. He is in love! I researched a lot, got a bunch of advice from other gamer friends, and took a leap of faith that he’d like it.
I like the separate GPU and the extra fans to keep it cool. I chose the 4 cell battery to give him extra time in a vehicle with a movie or game. And, very sturdy case for a not quite adult with young siblings.

Very fast , holds a lot of storage and plays all of my games pretty well with no lags. Sims 4 - 3 and others. I would recommend a sound bar to go with it because most gaming computers audio isn't loud because its made to have a headset in.

It is a great entry level gaming laptop. Has Ryzen 5 processor which is a good mid tier CPU. 8 gb of ram which is upgradable. 256 GB SSD isn't very big , but it has the space to add another one. Screen is descent. For what I want to use it for it works well. Works great on Scrap Mechanic if you add a gaming mouse, and Skyrym. Works great for doing school work also.

Poorly made- pretty janky. Paint started peeling off of the keyboard within weeks, and within 6 months, half of the space bar became non-functional. Returning to store

When it comes to laptops, separating the good from the best is challenging. That's why we've tested them to provide our expert opinions. CNET's list of the best laptops for 2023 is a great place to start, with our top picks across brands, operating systems, budgets and categories. Intel, AMD and Nvidia recently announced new processors and graphics chips for 2023, and there are new laptop models with those chips planned for later this year. And Apple just announced updates to its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with the latest M2 processors. For the moment, though, these are the best laptops available that CNET has tested and reviewed.

I was looking for a new work laptop and doing some minor gaming when I'm not at home with my main gaming PCs. Normally I use stream remote play but it choppy and slow depending on the internet connection. This is a decent little laptop. I got it for 600 dollars when it was on sale. The best part about the laptop is you can upgrade some parts of it. Since it already had an SSD stick installed it left the spot open for an external drive. I installed a 1TB SATA drive I had from an older laptop to give me more storage and purchased another 8GB 2666 memory for it.

Start up is fast, runs perfectly. Comes with carrying case. Right now using it to play sims 4 on highest settings with cc and mods, no lag at all. Definitely worth it, so many features i havent used yet. Only thing I dont like is the fan runs and computer gets hot on the right corner bottom when the computer is charged 100% and its still plugged in other than that I love it. Would reccomend a fan though. Definitely worth the price.

Bought this for college that's coming up. Also needed a gaming laptop. This laptop does fit my needs. So easy to use and running games are smooth. Would recommend gaming on Medium Settings for better FPS. Some games for example, Forza Horizon 4 runs great on High Settings. That's of course will everything optimize to High Performance. Overall happy with my purchase. For a little extra juice. I added a 1TB Samsung EVO 860 SSD & 8GB PNY Ram. The 256GB SSD wasn't enough for me. You can opt for a Hard Drive or Solid State Drive. Great laptop for anyone who wants to begin gaming or for someone in school.

I've had this laptop for about 2 years now, and while it has worked great as a gaming laptop, its limited memory doesn't allow many big games to be installed. It will hold 2-4 decent sized games, or 1-2 larger games. From what I'm told, you can increase the RAM to 16GB and the hard drive to 512GB, but it's better to just get the laptop with more memory to begin with. For reference on the graphics capabilities, I've run ARK: Survival Evolved, Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Subnautica on this with no problems (aside from memory management).

I’ve been wanting a gaming laptop for a while and when this came in my budget I was very pleased. Great for older games on high settings and new games on average settings. Great color, feel, and over all weight. Stays very cool and I highly recommend if looking for gamers new to PC games or someone who likes older games.

Good laptop for playing games on. I admit you cant play lots of games on ultra settings but that said you sure can get settings up there. Easy to use and easy to clean out unwanted extra bloatware. Upgrading ram/ssd was simple to do. I only had it for a short time and I liked it way more then I thought I would.

It came with an upgrade kit that allowed me to easily upgrade the storage. I haven't found a game this cannot run yet and once you upgrade it's RAM and storage, it can play those games with no issues at all. Will be buying more ASUS computers.

I bought this Laptop for Linux gaming.
No compatibility issues running Solus, and I'm sure it'd work just as well on any distro running a recent kernel.
For the price corners had to be cut, but I'm happy with the features Acer chose to exclude to get this laptop under $700.
While the drive is small, it's a M.2 Hynix part using the NVME protocol. There's an open slot for a standard 2.5" drive and Acer included a cable and screws to connect an extra 1TB drive I had laying around. This was a thoughtful feature.
There is a single 8GB memory module, thus no dual-channel operation out of the box, normally this would be a no go on a laptop with integrated graphics, but having a dedicated GPU, it's not a big deal, I'll drop another module in down the road.
To the naked eye the display is bright, and colors seem to pop well, especially greens. The display is matte rather than glossy (which I prefer), and the bezels are modest. Unfortunately there's no FreeSync compatibility, so this is another area costs were cut.
The exterior is black plastic with touches of red, no metal whatsoever, but it's solid and appears well designed. It's not going to impress anyone with it's looks, but it doesn't scream teen gamer either.
Keyboard is actually pretty decent, low to modest travel, soft to type on with the presses being just firm enough to have confidence. The red back-lighting is nice and doesn't bleed around the edges so much that it's a hot mess like others I've seen (Dell). There's a numerical pad, but it's a little smaller than a full-size keyboard, while it works, your 10-key skills will suffer.
Trackpad is decent as well, doesn't select and drag contents accidentally, yet is sensitive enough to make tasks fairly fluid.
Battery life is not great, just watching videos with a lower brightness setting, one can expect about 4 hours. Gaming on the battery isn't practical, with power management throttling clock speeds down, performance suffers, and runtime is even lower.
This is a laptop that spends it's life plugged in.
The Ryzen 3550h CPU is great, it's at least as responsive in basic tasks as my Kaby Lake i5-7200u and with the 2 extra cores, does great in apps like Blender.
When not gaming the display is being driven by the integrated Vega 8 GPU, it's great for video and basic 3D tasks on the desktop.
The RX 560X discrete GPU is enough for light games with a target resolution of 1080p at 60fps. Heavier AAA titles expect turning some settings down or worse case scaling to 720p.
Doom 2016 using Vulkan I swing 50 - 60fps with ultra.
World of Warcraft via DXVK 60fps with most settings maxed.
Dota2, 50-60fps w/ everything maxed.
Can it run Crysis? Yes quite well ; )
Another area where costs were cut was the cooling system, both the discrete GPU and CPU share the same heat-pipe/fan.
I haven't observed any throttling (at least doing what I do) and the fan noise is tolerable.
After using this laptop for nearly 4 months as my primary PC I'm quite happy with it. Sure there are higher end gaming laptops out there, but few coming close to the value of this one.

We needed to buy 2 laptops to help with homeschooling during the quarantine. These were the only two laptops in stock in my price range. I bought two, one for my 8 and one for my 12 year old. They can’t seem to stay off them. They do all their schoolwork, play Sims, Minecraft, Roblox and whatever else they want with ease. Keyboard has been really durable and they both really love them. They stay charged for a long time and seem to be really good quality. I’m happy with the purchase!

Although I have not had it long, only 3 weeks... it has served my needs very well. Not only is it fast and therefore lets me get work activities done in record time, it is great for gaming also. The graphics are crisp and my son who is a gaming addict also tries to borrow it all the time. It allowed his to download a newer game that his gaming tower PC could not handle. So far I have zero complaints.
