I've been using the 200 mbps version for years without major issues. I thought the 500 mbps would be a nice upgrade in speed and it does seem to be faster. I have some dead spots in the house that my wifi will not reach and these do a very good job even as far as two floors away. My router is on the second floor and we have a media player (stream movies from a NAS drive on the network) on the first and Xbox One and PS4 in the basement. The 200mbps version held a rock steady signal and I don't recall ever having drops or loss of connection. These 500 mbps seem to have issues and frequent drops. It's not just me I've seen reviews with others having the same issues. It is a good alternative to wifi though if you can't get it parts of the house. Nothing much to hooking them up other than plugging in the ethernet wires and the unit into the wall.

This product has doubled my connection speed for my ps3/4. Connection has been constant and stable (as stable as Comcast can be) since I've purchased this product about three months ago. I had to change where I initially had it plugged in because connection was coming up yellow. Found an outlet that lit green and its been constant 50mbps down/ 5mbps up

This is a great device to someone who has bad wifi signal away from the router. I would highly recommend this item to help combat the problems. If you're a die hard video gamer Id suggest picking one of these up. Set Up is very easy and fast. You wont be disappointed. It also stays true to your internet speeds.

I bought this originally to use to connect an access point I wanted to set up in my guestroom that doesn't get much of a WiFi signal.
unfortunately I don't have anything but 6 head outlet/surge protector due to limited sockets in the room. The directions tell you that you can't use an extension cord or any type surge protector, luckily however, I was able you use mine with no issues so far.
I do have to knock this product down one star because inexplicably Actiontec decided to include 100/10 ports on the adapters. The theoretical 500 Mbps throughput doesn't mean much if the Ethernet ports are limited to 100 Mbps max. However, this is one of the more economical Powerline kits out there, and for many uses the lack of Gigabit (1000 Mbps) ports may not be noticeable. Due to its stable connection, I think the ActionTec Powerline kit may be worth a shot for gamers having issues with their wireless connections, or for others who find a wireless network is impossible or problematic.

Speeds are really good. Easy to use, just plug in the wall and connect to ethernet ports and you are off and running. Would recommend if trying to avoid adding new ports in your walls.

It gives a pretty good connection, solid, doesn't fluctuate too much. It isn't as strong as i'd hoped it would be, but haven't had any connection problems. It hasn't blanked out.
When I connected it to my Windows 7 PC, I had to "Troubleshoot Connection" as it wouldn't connect to the internet. It just wouldn't automatically configure a connection (DNS Gateway or something like that) but Troubleshooting it solved it automatically.
I have my PC, Xbox, and PS4 running on it, and it doesn't really degrade when running 2 at once. The 2 cables it comes with are like 2 feet long.. Only can reach my PC which is right next to the Outlet.
Overall, a great purchase.

This product is fantastic and easy to set up, it works right out of the box, no calls needed for tech support. Boosted my internet speed in a previously weak area of my home from 10Mbps to 40Mbps! You won't need Brighthouse Echo service and its monthly fee with this baby! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Geek Squad installers recommended this to cut down on the long ethernet runs that I had ordered. As far as I can tell, it works great. I have my TV, receiver, Bluray, and Xbox all plugged in to it, and all of the connections seem to work just fine.

Actiontec - Powerline Ethernet Adapter and 4-Port Hub - White. This takes the place of a WiFi network if you're hooking your computer modem and new T.V., Blu-Ray, fixed point laptop, etc. You plug this into your computer modem, then straight into the wall. As with my set up, I then plug my new 4K T.V. into a similar component and plug it into the wall downstairs. By using your home's existing wiring, you do not need a WiFi, or a password that others can break into. This works almost like your T.V. is plugged straight into the modem, and the download speeds are just as fast as your modem can be. No need for wires, no set up involved, just an excellent product all the way around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I heard powerline ethernet mentioned as a good alternative to using a wi-fi signal, especially in places such as an apartment complex where many wi-fi signals are being broadcast. Keep in mind that powerline ethernet will not work in every house, but for houses that are wired properly, it's almost just as good as a hard-wired connection. I have used mine for over a month and have had zero issues. Great product, especially with Actiontec's not so great reputation.

The power line adapter is simple to use. It's basically plug and play. It's fast and reliable - moreso than my router (which is probably a whole other issue).

By using this powerful yet simple solution for supplying Ethernet to my smart TV I saved time & the cost of additional wiring. In 5 minutes I gave my Smart TV the internet connection WiFi only tried to do. You Tube, Netflix, any streaming is effortless, no buffering! The 4 ports allow me to add the blu-ray player and still have 2 open ports for future expansion. Best of all I can move everything simply and without additional wiring. Recommended!

Have had this for about a month now, and have had ZERO issues with it. Super easy to install and get working. I had to buy this after switching from cable to DirecTv. I originally had my cable into the living room TV and the router/modem in the same location. While I could have just over utilized my wifi for the devices around the TV, I decided to move the modem/router upstairs and install this downstairs. I still get blazing fast internet at the Smart TV/PS4/Apple TV/DirecTv box connected to it.

After trying an add-on wireless solution, which wouldn't attach to my Apple Extreme base unit, I went back to Best Buy and found a different associate who know what he was talking about. He worked in the Apple section. He recommended this unit, which was consistent with the Sony Rep's advice. I don't think now that any wireless repeater has the stead throughput for 4K video. Plus the receiving unit has 4 inputs so I can plug my laptop into the hardwire connection, too.

When I went to the store I intended to by a usb extender for my TV , well after talking the gentleman in the store he took me to another section and went over the product I ended up buying. I went home had it hooked up in lease than five minutes and it has brought the internet to my TV with no problems at all, now I stream movies from netflex and it is the best thing I have bought for the internet. Great product and works just like they say it will.

i tried these as a means to get a LAN connection without having to run cat5 cable to another room. Highly impressed! I get a constant 30mbps. I would recommend making sure both outlets are on the same side of the breaker box as if they are on opposite sides you will not have as good on speed. Another outlet in the same room is on the opposite side of the breaker box. Saw speeds of 8-10mbps

Easy to install. Easier than installing Cat 5 wiring to room.
I have 2 computers, used for remote VPN access, network printer and a IP phone attached to the four port unit.
I've had no problems except for once or twice the units lost connection, but they reset in seconds. They have been in place for 2 years.

Real easy to install. Our smart TV is located on the other side of the house from our router and the WiFi signal was weak and therefore we were not always able to get a good signal for Netflix. Now we can get Netflix without a problem.
