Customers are saying

Customers praise the inventive gameplay and immersive atmosphere of Alien: Isolation - Nostromo Edition, frequently citing the game's gripping story and effective sound design as highlights. However, some found the game's difficulty challenging, even on easier settings, and a few felt the action sequences could have been more plentiful. A small number of customers also felt the price point was too high.

    Great Stealth Game

This game is a survival horror that plays a lot like a Metal Gear Solid but in first person. The game has a difficult campaign, but is fun with its stealth gameplay. It took me about 20 hours to beat it (get to the end) and 40 to complete it ( unlock all achievements) the game. This game has good controls, visuals and runs smoothly with little frame dropping. The aliens are smart and will be relentless in trying to find you. The only real issue I have with this game is the distant between save points which are far and at times difficult to see. Otherwise this game is a solid addition to your collection.

Alien: Isolation is a very interesting take on the first-person genre. You have no real way of fighting back against the game's primary antagonist, the xenomorph from Ridley Scott's Alien. The game's missions mostly have you going from point A to point B, but having to get past and hide from the xenomorph can make things very difficult. I found the xenomorph AI to be so relentless that I changed the game's difficulty setting from Normal to Easy, something I almost never do. My favorite part of the game is how it expertly recreates the late 70's atmosphere from the film perfectly in game form. Overall, I would recommend this game, but it's definitely not for those easily scared or frustrated.

Pros: lots of gadgets, lots of sneaky stealth sequences, lots of horror. You're gonna be afraid - afraid that this is the time the alien is going to skulk past the locker you're backed into the far corner of, holding your breath while your heartbeat practically pounds through your teeth, and rip open the door and your face. They do a very good job of immersing you in this hopeless fear. You have no way to stop the alien until the end of the game - and even at that point, it's just a counter active measure to buy you 10 seconds. Even the androids will pound and choke the life out of you with little effort on the easiest difficulty. This is a brutal game that punishes Rambo-ism. And it's very, very heavily inspired by the original Alien flick - so if you're a movie buff and that particular movie happens to be a favorite of yours, you will appreciate this game. Cons: even on the easiest difficulty, this game is hard. And sometimes hard because you've been on the same stupid stealth section for 3 hours, wasting time hiding in a storage box while the alien stomps around hissing and clacking. It's a punishing game, and I would never play it again because it caused me extreme stress. I was happy to be done with it.

If you're a fan of the original Alien movie and love stealth and horror games, you will enjoy this game. It captures the essence and atmosphere of the movie with all the anticipation and dread you felt watching it. The only negative I could say would be there are certain parts in the story that seem a bit too drawn out and lengthly. Some of that can be chalked up to it being a stealth game and having to move slowly and cautiously.

This game is a nice change of pace among a truck load of first person shooters and open world role playing games. You're on your own from the get go as far as game instructions and the atmosphere is chilling. There are some jump scare moments but it is mainly a stealth game. Very eerie setting and very fun. The main story takes about 14 hours.

I will say that before I went to buy this game I watched a few lets plays to see what the game was all about. I am also a bit of a "Alien" fanboy. This game has all aspects of the original horror movie down to the sounds and emptiness of the ship. There is a bit of a learning curve when playing on normal but that challenge keeps you interested. When playing the game be sure to take in all the detail of the environment. If at all possible get a surround sound headset and play in the dark. The full immersion of sound you get from a headset when playing this game will add to the fun and fear that the game is all about. I would recommend the PDP Afterglow AG9 I have one and has a great sound quality, it is truly wireless, and runs off its own batteries so you don't chew away at your controller like other headsets cause you to do. I hope this was helpful

The Video game license for this franchise has suffered badly, but this game is a great recovery with great cinematics and gorgeous gameplay along with smart AI, good luck on Nightmare mode.

For the money, this game is sure to please with it's non-stop action which keeps you on the edge of your seat. Graphics are good and there is lots of gameplay here. Finally a game like the old days when they made games that took more than a few days to complete. I played this game almost everyday for 2-3 hours and it took me 2 -3 weeks to complete the main story. There is still 2 other modes of gameplay to complete, Survival Mode and Crew Expendable. This game will make you feel a bit of jumpy as you creep around as quietly as you can trying to avoid the Aliens, and make you run in fear when being pursued. It does and excellent job at making you feel like you are there in the game. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the Alien franchise or FPS games.

High recommend this game if you are a fan of the Resident Evil series. The only con is that the story ends on a cliffhanger, and the controls/camera are wonky and take some time getting used to.

This is a game based in the terror an thriller, in a diference than the colonial marines, in this game you have to avoid the alien and the amigo androids to get alive and overcome the terror that confronts you all the time. You can also play with the kinect only to program noise detector and to move yourself when you are hidden. You can also play survive mode or download the additional content that sees the original crew reunited aboard the nostromo and play as any person of this crew.

There have been a lot of Alien games over the years. This is definitely the first one to catch the feeling of fear and trepidation as you traverse the game world as the first movie. It is an old school horror game in game play and approach but has the graphical power and gorgeous looks of a new gen game. Definitely recommended for any fan of the horror game genre.

If the Alien movie quadrilogy is famous for anything, it's the suspense factor of not knowing where the Xenomorphs are hiding and when or where they'll attack from. This game captures that essence brilliantly with the proper lighting effects in the detailed scenery and the ambient sound effects to make you feel like you're really in danger. It's a no-brainer for Alien fans, and a lot of fun for fans of the first-person adventure shooter.

Coming into this only getting this game for $.22 due to promos and discounts, Aliens Isolation is an intense game that will have you thinking about what's right for your next step to progress through the game, it's nerve wrecking, jaw clinching, teeth chattering, but only if you play it at night and with a good surround sound system.

The game has a breathtaking setting. The ship literally come to life. The sounds the sights all make for a terrific experience. The alien doesn't hunt you at all times like the marketing suggests hence the 4 stars. Still when you do run into the alien it's smart and makes for some awesome gaming.

I don't remember there being much hype about this game but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Set on a space station, you are up against a disgruntled crew. As you make your way through the game, you find out your being stalked by The Alien! Scared me the first time I played!!!
