    Alienware for the win!

I can't say enough good things about this PC. I play Warhammer 2 with graphics settings on Ultra with no issues. There is literally no game that this PC can't play. The Solid state drive is excellent! I have a heavily modded flight sim that usually takes forever to load but this PC loads it's up very quick. I am very happy with the Alienware computer and with Best Buys customer service. When I went in to pick up the item, they told me that it went on sale and credited the difference in money back to my card. Very happy with this purchase.

    Excellent Game Rig

I was in the market to upgrade/update my existing game rig and had priced out the individual components I wanted. When I saw this unit on sale over the holidays, a friend who was with me convinced me that for the price, this was a pretty decent compromise vs. acquiring the parts I had in mind separately , and because it was already built, I could obviously save myself the potential headaches of another computer build. Admittedly, building your own computer is a fun and rewarding experience, and you can save yourself a few dollars here and there, but I really didn't want to this time around and so this R5 seemed like a good choice. I particularly liked the smaller, sleeker case (compared to the NZXT Phantom I currently owned) and the creative use of space on the inside is a nice feature. This R5 marks the 4th Alienware computer in my home, and I have been pleased with every one of them. I brought the R5 home, set it up and was rocking Overwatch at 120+FPS on ultra in no time. I replaced the single 16Gb RAM with 4x4Gb DDR4 as well as added 2 SSD's to the provided 2.5" bays and I was delighted at how easy it was to access everything. I don't see the GTX 1070 needing to be upgraded anytime soon, but the fact that I could drop in a 1080 (or even 2 GPU's in SLI) at some point is a nice option. For the price, I think you'd be hardpressed to find a better deal in terms of components, packaging and performance. I am EXTREMELY pleased with my purchase, and I am glad my friend talked me into it at the store........because that's what friends do: they enable.

My old HP Quad processor was at it's end of life. I started looking for a new desktop with the speed and performance I was looking for including newer features like Bluetooth and a solid state hard drive. Most of the PC's I looked at were flimsy construction and just didn't function well for me like my old HP media PC did. I had always like the alien PC's but typically too rich for my pocket book. After checking out the specs and the build quality of this PC I decided to pull the trigger and get it. I was a little disappointed in that a tag was brushing up against the fan but I opened it up, bent the wire tag out of the way and it's wisper quiet now. I will be loading up my video software but so far after a month, it has not disappointed in the least. Boot time is seconds, and transitions immediately to new programs, software as needed. Love it.

I did not wasn't to attempt to build a computer. So I went with this Aurora, I've always been a Mac user and played games, but never had the kick that this computer offered me. It's super fast, place WOW with an ease, and many other games I play with a high FPS.

I read all the reviews on this computer and at first I was disappointed that I didn't get the liquid cooled processor but...I have since put that to bed! People also said that the computer was excessively loud, well, I didn't notice any noise out of the ordinary at all. In fact, my older self built computer was much noisier! And, I check the processor temp all the time and its quite cool. So, I have absolutely no complaints on this computer at all...its very fast and it just works!

I am not an avid gamer, but I purchased this computer because of the quality of construction and speed. Alienware is an excellent build with speed in mind. The OS is on a SSD drive so I pulled the 1T HD and put in a 3T drive for more storage. It was easy to change the HD but I was surprised to find the machine has room for two more SSD drives on the bottom of the chassis. This is not in the documentation there is room to add drives. My only disappointment so far is that the DVD drive is a thin plastic drive rather than a standard DVD drive. I am very impressed with the USB 3.1 port which I have connected to an external drive docking station that is made for this type of USB port. I recommend this machine even if you are not a gamer because of all the features.

I really enjoy the machine. It is fast and it boots up real quick. The one minor thing that I would change with the machine is the DVD. I would rather it had a Blu-Ray instead of the DVD. Internally the machine is well laid out for different areas and air flow which is nice (i.e. machine is real quite). There is no room to add an internal drive so if you want to view or use a Blu-Ray it will have to be an external drive. Other than that I would purchase it again in a heartbeat.

Great Price for Oculus Rift Computer

The machine is fast and runs Oculus Rift well. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 out of 5 is that the machine was advertised as an open box, but from the manufacture date of 20160103 and some dust in the machine, it looks more like a refurbished computer than an open box that was returned before the 30 day return period.

    Great for 4k TV gaming

I paired this with a Samsung UN40KU6300FXZA 40" 4k TV for a monitor and it works great. Very fast boot time and it plays everything I throw at it in 4k on this set up (maximum 60Hz on monitor if you use HDMI 1 on that set). My sound is through HDMI so I can't comment on the sound from the built in sound ports. The Good: Great performance for what I use it for at about the same price for building one yourself with comparable specs. The Bad: 460 Watt power supply in this unit not the 850W (my fans are quiet unlike some reviews I've seen for this PSU) will need to be upgraded if you add a second video card Air cooled not water (I've not had temps get to high and I've never seen my fans above 30%) Single 16 gig stick of Hynix @ 2133 MHz not gaming ram Only has 2 2.5" bays for hard drive expansion, only 3.5" bay is already filled with the 1TB drive (you have to remove this drive if you want a larger one) You can see a test I run on this system below (does include added internal and external drive performance) http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/2268681

I was going to give it 4 star since I have problems with the wired Ethernet is running at half the speed of the wireless and the DVD drive is cheap. Otherwise it is a very good system. Very compact and well laid out. Thought it was interesting that they put one single DIMM in not a pair. The Solid state drive is loaded with the Operating system. Would advise if possible when you load a program that you install it on the 1 Tb Hard drive D: to save room on the C: drive. If you want something that can handle anything you throw at it then this is your system! F.Y.I. Support is provided by Geek squad not Alienware/Dell

Initial purchase was thru Best Buy using their on-line purchasing app. Ordering from Mfgr. Could have upgraded several items for minimal additional cost (water cooling, additional memory, upgraded SSD and SATA hdd's) but no huhu. Unit is well designed and easy to add parts when acquired. Using this unit for VR primarily and, so far, no problems with cooling or noise. Dell is easy to deal with but, you need to make sure that the order-taker understands exactly what is required for the parts you are ordering. Added a 1Tb ssd and had to order cables separately as they thought it was a replacement rather than an additional drive. Bust Buy has been very supportive and willing to go the extra mile on items that are out-of-stock or not available in-store. They are to commended for their professionalism during the hectic Christmas season.

If your wanting to plug and play any high end graphically challenging games on the market today this is the computer for you. Started up, updated, downloaded Arma III and BF1 and they both run on Ultra graphics with 65-80FPS. Amazing product and will always be using Alienware for any gaming needs. The one thing I can say negative about this PC is that it only has one HDMI port. I prefer to use multiple monitors so if your a solo monitor person it's perfect, if you a duel or triple monitor kind of person you'll have to buy an adapter like I did to support 2 HDMI monitors.

Really great desktop. Yes it's pricey but if you need powerful computer out-of-the-box, you made the right decision. I'm not really a PC gamer, I just get the best computer I can within my budget range. I watch a lot of videos and sometimes do photo and video editing. Start up is fast because OS is installed on SSD, also has the HDD for extra storage. Ton of USB ports. 2 extra slots for what seems to be 2.5 drives. Also RAM can be expandable. When I was pushing my PC a little harder the fans weren't that noisy. Definitely would recommend this to a friend.

Very nicely built. Solid performer. Tool free architecture with intelligent use of interior space reduces overall size of tower. Can stream XBox back to Rift (VR ready is an understatement). Runs dual monitors flawlessly. Miracast to TV when I want to relax and browse the internet. 2 USB ports energized even when powered down. FIFTEEN total USB ports from 2.0 to 3.1 and "C". 7.1 Dolby over fiber or jacks. Whisper quiet except for one fan that blows either full on or off (doesn't even need to come on most of the time).

I had (well still have) a DELL computer for about 10yrs.... yes 10yrs. and I’ve been upgrading as the years went by with memory, hard drive, power supply video card, and sound card. I’ve always wanted an Alien but the price was too high until one day I went to Best Buy and saw this one. This is an awesome computer I’ve had it for about a month, I can’t believe how fast it is and it can handle so far anything that I know of, not saying that I’ve tried everything but the power it has…. Super fast.
