I use it to replace an Echo Dot in the living room. My Dot had problems hearing my voice but was fine with other voices. The Echo 5 Show hears my voice well. It does all the things my Dot does but the adjustable clock is great. The sound is pretty good. I am happy with the Echo Show 5 and decided to buy an Echo Show 8 too.

It is great when I am baking or cooking to listen to music as I can just ask Alexa to skip or play certain music. Also, great to set reminders and alarms. My elderly father has one too and it is great for video chats. I like the fact that it also gives me notifications when my Amazon packages have been delivered.

Makes phone calls without phone, reads bedtime stories. Plays beautiful bass filled music! Plays parts of tv shows like sports and news and other tv moments. Worth the price of the thing!!!! I have 5 Alexa devices, and only this model gives me issues. Reaching out to Amazon’s tech support was a waste, and really they just wanted to update me to a larger model but I need this specifically for its size. I use it in the bathroom and it’s very handy when it’s not freezing. Being able to get a daily overview while brushing my teeth is amazing.

We are sorry you are not enjoying the Echo Show 5. Tech Support may have talked you through Wifi best practices, but your device may need a software update that you can check for in settings. If the bathroom is a low connectivity point in your home this could be causing the freezing. If it is next to the window or interacting with any elements, that could also be it.

We have them in all our bedrooms, as we can also communicate with others in the house. We absolutely love them
