Customers highly value the Back-UPS Connect 84VA Battery Back-Up System's long battery life, which allows it to run equipment for extended periods and offers the added benefit of a removable battery for charging portable devices. Its compact size and ease of use are also frequently praised. However, some customers find the price to be relatively high and note that the power supply may be insufficient for multiple or high-power devices. The system's suitability depends on individual power needs and budget.

Probably the best looking battery backup/surge protector out there. Not an eyesore in front of you on the desk, all day long. Very well designed, small, compact, with removable lithium battery having additional usefulness for charging portable devices. Helpful LED lights on the unit could be dimmer, they are too bright at close range. Unfortunately compactness also means, in this instance, limited power supply adequate only for a couple or three low power devices such as routers and modems. For that purpose it appears to work quite well. Somewhat pricey though at list price. Would like to see a similarly designed device with considerably higher power enough to backup a regular desktop computer.

Perfect backup option for cable modem/routers

I had been looking for a dedicated battery backup for my cable modem/router in case the power went out. I have other battery backups for everything from lights to charging cell phones, but wanted something that would automatically power my internet connection. I first looked at your standard lead acid systems for desktops, but have had bad luck with them in the past (eg, that annoying beeping). That's when I found this APC unit. The fact that it's lithium ion, and I could get additional batteries was very appealing. It also had gotten decent reviews. I picked one up at Best Buy, and decided to try it in a simulated "power outage". I was able to get about 75 minutes out of one battery with it connected to a Cisco cable modem, D-Link DIR-880L router, and my Panasonic cordless phone. The router had 7 wireless devices connected to it that were constantly running. I kept using the internet during this time. I know others have gotten 2+ hours with this model, but I was happy with my runtime considering the load I was putting on it. This unit is extremely easy to setup and use. My only qualm is how loose the battery sits. It would be easy to knock loose if you have a cat, dog, young kids, etc. Overall, I would highly recommend this APC battery backup.

I have a century Link dsl modem router and this keeps it powered for hours during a power outage. End up using every winter when we lose power. It's lasted as long as 4 hours once and still had juice left. Depends on your routers power draw but for low powered devices it is worth It to keep them running.

I was struggling to find a UPS that wasn't too big for my Orbi satellite in my game room. Even the smallest of UPSes are typically the size of a concrete cinder block and about as heavy. I also didn't need all the power that one would provide as the only thing connected to it was an Orbi satellite and I just wanted enough power to keep it online during small power outages. This fit the bill perfectly. The little USB battery it very niche, but could be useful. I would have been happy without that feature though.

No issues with this UPS it worked right out of the box. I waited for it to be completely charged and hooked up my electric lounge chair. Power buttons to go up and down with a USB port included. I wanted something I can use incase of a power outage I can still operate my chair to its down position. And I can always take the power pack with me on the go away from home. It cost a little more than the rest of the smaller UPS units but its worth peace of mind.

Purchased to keep the network up and running on my home network in case of a power outage and have been impressed at how long it can keep a modem, firewall, network switch and access point powered. They all ran without issue for over 45 minutes.
And a the portable power supply has been great and kept mine and friends phones charged when away from an outlet.
Great idea, great product. Also, Best Buy price matched a competitor's sale price.

Works great! APC is a good brand, it is known for good quality, and this item is not exception. Since I got it the power has been out two time and my internet connection hasn’t been interrupted, it helps to protect your modem and router also let you charge your mobile devices given you the option to travel with the battery. I highly recommend it.

This is a very handy back up battery. You can connect your router to this so that your router will still work for some time when you lose power at home. The mobile battery unit is also very handy. You can bring it with you and use for emergency juice pack for your mobile devices.
My ipad is charged all the way but when I use this battery to charge iphone, it shows 90% when it is fully charged. When I connect it again it instantly shows 100%. That's the only issue I have with this unit. Other than that I am very satisfied with this.

I have a Moen shower control which is all electronic solenoid controlled and it is in the wall cavity behind my bathroom wall. The unit is excellent but with almost any power interruption I would have to move furniture and open the access panel to reset the unit. This thin APC UPS fits easily in my 2x4 wall cavity and I have not had to reset the unit since installing this. It is worth twice what I paid for it in convenience alone.

Have had this in use for several months now. Purchased it to use with my cable modem and router. Today I experienced several power disruptions while using my laptop. Product worked as intended with no re-booting of router or modem and no interruption of internet service. During the 3rd power disruption I watched the lights cycle on the front panel of the device as it functioned with only a faint click when it switched from line power to backup. This device is plugged into an APC P11VT3 surge protector.

During the last storm we had about 10 brow outs within a two hour period and my access gateway and router that I had plugged in kept right on plugging away while my TV/DVR rebooted every time. It felt nice knowing I still had internet access when needed most.

I recently installed a home security system, and wanted a battery back up for my computer equipment in case of a power outage. After looking over tons of reviews, I settled on this model. Right out of the box it looks and feels like a high quality product, and the set up was simple. What I really enjoy is the removable battery pack; I've used it to charge my phone a few times, no problems. This isn't the biggest back up system out there, but for what I need it's perfect.

Nice to have, but for the price you could probably do a lot better with an ANKER. This barely will power my Router and Switches. I'm thinking a 500W or 800W with the Detachable battery would be much better.

We purchase this, reading reviews on it and researching the product. We had a hurricane hit our area, our electricity out for hours. We connect this to our router and had it going for hours! I now wish I could have purchased more. These are very hard to find now.

Would have liked more backup time, I only got 2 hours and 8 minutes run time for my att gateway that only uses 12 watts of power. I discharged and charged the lithium ion battery pack 4 times before I ran this test. I used my watt meter to establish the gateway wattage.

I like the fact that the battery is removable and can be used to charge devises on long trips BUT I wish it also had a built in battery so I could BOTH take the removable one out AND have back up for the phone and router at home!

Used as back up for network router and switches. Small footprint, runs equipment for 4 + hours sans AC. Good value.
