Great design and surface Easy to use I feel very comfortable when i use it. the keyboard is nice and easy to use also can make me write fast and quict. The design is super good, small and nice. easy to carry and easy to use to take note.

I appreciate the thin design, ultra portability, and fan-less build more than any other aspect of this device. These 3 things should be front and center when considering purchasing this device. This was an update for us from the 2015 ( 1st Gen.) model. Physically the device has the same build quality and great screen. It does exhibit improved overall function under heavier loads ( not really designed as a gaming laptop or photo/video editor), however it's not a true core i5 or i7 processor either. Battery life is good. This is a great little laptop for travel. We utilize the device for that aspect and it suits our needs well. Sure we need a dongle but that's not a big concern for us. The keyboard is shallow, but after using the previous gen. for over a year its not an issue anymore. If you need an ultraportable for travel or just something to use as a daily driver for e-mail, internet or light duty office software then give it some consideration.

The weight, thin build, retina display, and very good battery life are thinks to consider when looking at this laptop. Having ports or being able to update this device - not so much. The is perfect to take on trips, short vacations, or just to the coffee shop for a meeting. The shallow keyboard does take time to get used to, however it's not that bad. I would recommended this for anyone looking for light to moderate use, especially on the road. Photo or video editing can be done but the device will struggle. This device in my backpack is almost not even noticeable at around 2 lbs.

Ahhh where to begin..... this is absolutely an incredible computer. I have been a windows user for my entire life, therefore, my prior computers were always HP or Dell computers. I've always liked Apple but I was not comfortable using Mac's Software. I'm a college student and my HP laptop decided to quit on me so it was time to purchase a new computer. I wanted a small and light laptop (because I carry my computer all around campus) I knew that this new model Mac was slim, light, and powerful. I decided to take a chance and set my worries aside and go for the Mac and I am absolutely glad that I did. I purchased the M5 with 512GB model Open Box excellent (for the obvious price reduction) The computer came after about a week of shipping and handling and it was in perfect condition. Overall, I am very glad I purchased this computer. It is exactly what I needed to be successful in school and am grateful that best buy had it at such a great price.

he Good The new 12-inch MacBook adds the improved keyboard mechanism from the MacBook Pro line. New processor and RAM options mean better performance. The Bad Little else has changed, including the lack of ports beyond a single USB-C connection. You still can't get more-powerful mainstream Intel processors. The Bottom Line With a subtle tweak to the keyboard and better component choices, this cult favorite mini MacBook suddenly feels like it can be your everyday laptop.

The MacBook was exactly what I had hoped it was... fast, quality and light as a feather. It makes my 2017 MacBook Pro seem heavy by comparison. BestBuy was the right place to buy it to as I got it for a great deal.

I bought this computer for my wife who is currently going to nursing school. In comparison to her previous laptop this one is much more portable and user friendly. The processing speed on this version (M5) is really good and it's really nice to a a generous (512GB) hard drive for storage. I would highly recommend this MacBook to any student!

Very happy with purchase. Product is just what I expected. Very high quality display and very light weight. Only regret is that it does not have 16MB memory. But that is not holding me back.

I’ve been a Mac user for many years, so I am already a little biased towards Apple. My previous laptop was an older MacBook Pro. I decided to go with a MacBook this time because I rarely use the extra ports and features you find in a Pro. I generally use my computer to use the internet, play video games, listen to music, watch movies and TV, Quicken, word processing (I still like Microsoft Office the best), and stuff like that. This MacBook has more than enough power to handle all that. It’s small. This is so nice because it’s easy to carry everywhere I go. It feels very sturdy and I’ve used it a lot in the past couple months. My last mac died suddenly (it was six years old) but I had been regularly using Time Machine to back it up. When I set up this MacBook I just used my Time Machine backup. It worked perfectly. I didn’t lose any data. I loved my old MacBook Pro, but after about two days of using this MacBook, I forgot about that old mac. This thing is awesome. The keyboard took some getting used to, but I can type really fast on it now that my fingers have adjusted to it. I had to buy a dongle to use all my devices that I plug into my computer. This didn’t bother me too much since I usually only use those devices when I’m at home, so it was a worthy sacrifice for the small size of this computer. If you want a small portable computer, I can’t think of anything better than this MacBook.

For users looking for speed and portability, this is the perfect compromise. I don't really even miss the extra ports. I did purchase the Griffin Break-safe cable to retain the protection that the MagSafe power adapter offfered (since that is no longer the charging cable for this generation of MacBooks)

The reviews that you've read about this Mac are mostly true. The keyboard takes some getting used to and the screen is a bit smaller. The biggest drawback is the single USB-C port. You will need to buy a dongle if you want to charge and plug something else in. On the bright side the battery life is amazing. I easily get 8 to 12 hours on a charge depending on what I'm doing. I can go for a few days without charging if I'm not using the Mac that much. In that respect it's a lot like an iPad, grab it when you need it, don't worry about bringing a charger. Overall a solid laptop. I still haven't found competitors that build machines to the same quality. I bought mine on sale, it was well worth it.

At first, I was hesitant due to the rating touting the speed challenges of this machine versus the MacBook Pro. Gotta tell you, I think for me this machine is perfect for the home based work I do: pictures, videos, surfing, etc. My work MBP (touchbar) is faster but almost imperceptibly. I love it.

I love how small and light this macbook is. I can use it almost anywhere. It runs great for what I use it for. I wish it had at least two usb c ports tho.

Simply amazing build quality and amazing light weight of 2 lbs. The key difference between 3 lbs and 2 lbs is a massive one. With 3 lbs you get fatigued after 30 minutes on your lap, with 2 lbs you never get fatigued. You can have this on your lap and keep working forever because you never notice the weight. Lack of ports is honestly very annoying, but you get over it over time. Overall, if you have money to burn on the laptop and all needed adapters; burn the money and enjoy it.

Purchased this for work and the battery life is great! It is reliable, efficient, and allows me to multitask. Hopefully this will last me another 5 years before I need an upgrade! *Fingers Crossed*

I've had an Apple MacBook Pro for 5-6 years.. I wanted small, portable, powerful... This MacBook has it all. I have noticed NO power issues and I've been exclusively a pro user. Ps, I left the Apple Store to buy at BEST BUY.

Just bought this mac and i realized the difference. Fast, elegant and compact.

The MacBook is so user friendly with an easy keyboard to use. The keys are soft to the touch and great for anyone to type.
