It has a great battery life. It's light weight and very portable. It looks very sleek and sophisticated. It was very easy to connect a super burner too. I love the magnetic break away plug. So far, and I haven't used a computer in years, just my phone, it does everything I have wanted it to do. I have been pleased with the purchase.

Absolutely love my MacBook Air, actually more than our iMac. I have been eyeing the Air for a while and when it went on a flash sale, I couldn't resist. Amazingly light-weight and slim; consistently fast. Keyboard takes some getting used to because it is so soft (good thing). Screen image is super crisp. OS is user friendly. Long battery life. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. In about a year, I hope to go back to school for a Masters and my MacBook Air will be a great help. Most definitely an upgrade from my previous laptop, a Sony Vaio. Don't think about it twice, this is a great laptop!

I bought this for my preteen daughter who was able to easily utilize the functions and the supplied programs on the MacBook air. My wife and I previously purchased a similar MacBook air and both of us loved it, so it was an easy choice to get one for our daughter. The battery life is amazing, it's super light weight and we been very pleased with it's performance. It doesn't have the raw computing power or ram necessary to quickly edit extremely intensive video/photo (like GoPro 4K or RAW imaging) but it works just fine for what my daughter will be using it to do. This MacBook air will easily handle what the majority of people use a laptop for. Its amazingly lightweight and will go for multiple days on one charge if you are the casual laptop user checking emails, creating documents, and moderately surfing the web.

I absolutely love this MacBook Air for what I need to do. The weight (less than 3lbs, I believe) is SO light....it doesn't have a built in CD/DVD drive, but I purchased an external one from Amazon for $30 that I can use to burn or watch/listen DVDs/CDs (cheaper and quieter than the Apple drive that costs $80) and very, very slim. I also don't need that drive when I'm traveling, so I appreciate that the computer weighs less in that event. The processing speed is fine, but don't think it will be able to handle any graphic intense games (even moderately - like Sims3, etc.). The screen is great, but I think I'm spoiled by the Retina display on my iPad air...but not sure that I'd want to go with that based on the price difference in models. The speakers aren't that loud at all, but that's not important to me. The convenience of being able to FaceTime, TEXT, iMessage, receive a phone call, etc. on the computer is nice...I don't have to constantly pick up my phone to respond - I can seamlessly transition between what I was doing and a message. I love how I'm able to sync my phone, computer, and iPad now...it is something I've been wanting to do and am happy that it's practically effortless. I find that Pages and Numbers are FAR better than Word and Excel, but you can also convert them to those formats for people who don't have a Mac. It's the easiest thing in the world. It didn't take me long to get used to using a Mac after being a lifetime PC user - I'm surprised because I really thought it would be an adjustment and one of the reasons why I hadn't made the switch sooner. But I love it and recommend it to everyone who is looking for something on this performance level.

I'm a student in college and my old laptop was going out (terrible battery life, too heavy to carry around campus and 17" didn't fit in any bags, slower than molasses in January) and I decided that I needed a new computer for this year. I've always been a PC user, but I decided to purchase a Mac because of how many good things I'd heard about it. After using it for a month now, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The laptop is very lightweight and fits nicely in my bookbag. It's very fast even with the terrible wifi on campus, the interface works very well for people who like to have a lot open at once (love adding more desktops to use for different class subjects), and the battery life is incredible. It might have been a rather expensive purchase but it was worth it.

I have a 15.4" MacBook Pro, and a 21" iMac that I use for Photography and various things, but I needed something portable and lighter than my MacBook Pro to carry to and from school. I am in college and my backpack is heavy as it is. This MacBook Air is perfect, it performs well and is really light. I love my new MacBook Air so much that I bought a second one for my wife, and one for my sister as well who are both is college. If it is in your budget, don't hesitate. You will spend the same amount of money on a decent pc, that will not perform as well as this, trust me, I know from experience. Do yourself a favor and get one right now, you won't regret it!

I am in college and went to best buy with the intention on only spending 400 bucks. I ended up with this because it was on sale for 850 then got an extra 100 off from a college discount. I seriously couldn't be happier with this laptop. I really wouldn't go for a bigger screen size, its way to heavy to carry around anything bigger then this. I use this for research, conference calls, and general usage. The space on the laptop is great, i have had it for two semesters now and never have ran out.

Bought this for my wife. I've lost count of how many Macs we've had in our house at this point but this is by far the lightest one. Almost half the weight of her old MacBook Pro and perfect to carry back and forth to work and class. I was hesitant about only getting 4GB of memory but it seems to handle the basic web and productivity tasks she does with ease. Debated between getting this or the new retina MacBook but the lack of ports on that was the deciding factor towards getting the Air instead.

    you CAN right-click

The first week i had it i thought it didn't have right click capabilities, and it was SO irritating, not being able to copy, paste, edit spelling etc.... When i finally realized you could right-click, it became a lot easier and i finally was able to see why a lot of mac owners would tell me, "They are just so much easier to navigate...." Yes they are. Easier to find files, apps, the battery (for me) lasts on and off 3 days + so i don't have to carry around the charger back and forth to school, which is nice because 3 textbooks +everything else is already a hassle. The laptop is very light too. I was worried that i would drop it or break it very easy but i just have a soft case it goes in and out of(light too) and i haven't yet dropped it and don't feel anymore that i will. The camera effects are fun for kids, and, reluctant to say, but adults too. Somehow its connected to my phone, i think just because its signed in to the same appleID and so my laptop rings when my phone does, also texts,FaceTime, and when I'm searching the web on my phone I can open my laptop and just pick up where i left off. Instead of finding the page, option1--option2--etc... So that is extremely convenient. The new operating system I have heard lags, but i have the new operating system and i don't see much more of a lag compared to my old computer, yet my old computer wasn't great at all so there could be a lag. I've also heard, from the same people, that they have just went back to the old operating system and didn't have a problem after that. The lag isn't gruesome so i havent spent the time to look into it for my computer. Overall nice, very convenient and because of that you save a lot of time for everything else.

I am working on my doctorate after being out of school for 20 years. This computer has been a life saver. It is lightweight and has a great battery life. The main things I like are that you can use pages and other apps and also load Microsoft Office and use power point with ease. I do a lot of Web classes and my instructor raves about how good my camera and quality on my screen is ... I think in an effort to have others get the same computer.

Bought for my 13 year old daughter, who is familiar with Apple products and had been asking for a Macbook for about a year. She had been growing increasingly frustrated with having to use her mom's Windows laptop and it's inherent slow boot times, less-than ideal OS interface and overall normal Microsoft hurdles for simple tasks. My daughter needs a portable computer for school work, so I couldn't see why this added PC stress should continue. The MacBook Air seemed to be the obvious choice between Mac models for her particular needs. I weighed the pros and cons between the Air and an iPad Pro, as both were about the same price. The Air won out simply because the iPad Pro would require multiple costly accessories to add a tactile keyboard and connectors. This would largely defeat the purpose of having a do-it-all portable computer. The iPad touch interface would be very nice, but it didn't outweigh the pros of the MacBook. The computer is working great right out of the box, and the OS is incredibly intuitive, so she had no problems diving right in. Apple laptops are now being made so that upgrading to more ram and larger hard drives really need to be done at the time of purchase, as it's no small task to crack open and upgrade a new Air. So future-proof your purchase by getting more ram and storage than you think you'll need. Macs cost more than their PC counterparts, but ease of use and reliability can't be denied when all is said and done.

I did a pretty thorough amount of research before purchasing this computer. For daily use it cannot be beat. The battery life is amazing. The speed is incredible. The lightweight body makes it great for mobile use. For daily use of writing papers, taking notes, surfing the web, and streaming video, there is not a better machine on the market.

I bought this for my daughter for her first year of college. The size is very portable and convenient, while still providing a workable screen. It was very easy for her to learn to use and she was happy with all the applications included with the product. She is a music major, and especially likes the Garage Band app that was included. The only thing disappointing was for the amount of money spent to get the Apple product, it doesn't come with a dvd drive. That has to be purchased separately and is a real necessity.
