Customers are saying

Customers commend the MacBook Pro 13" for its Touch Bar, ease of use, lightweight design, and impressive performance. Many appreciate its compact size and sleek aesthetics, while also noting the improved battery life. However, some users express concerns regarding the limited USB-C ports and the relatively high price point. The smaller storage capacity is also a point of contention for some customers.

User friendly of course and pretty intuitive, my issue is just that the touch bar seems very much in its early stages. You can see potential for it being great but for now is a novelty. Not worth the 2k when it doesn’t do much more than my 2010 MacBook Pro except not have any useful ports and not have an optical drive, making it impossible not to have to buy additional crap. Also the ram is soldered in so no upgrades anytime soon. That is disappointing for sure. And now the whole magnetic charger cord for safety is done only to be replaced with an obnoxious little port that is useless for anything else. I’m not a fan of the fact that I can’t put a case on my computer because of the absolute necessity for external parts to be hooked on for basic usage.

    Disappointing Macbook Pro

I've been using MacBooks for 10 years and this is the first time, I’ve ever been disappointed. Below are the primary reasons: There’s no Magsafe - If you have kids or pets, MagSafe is critical. The cord simply does not release. If something catches the cord - the laptop goes with it! Mine has been pulled across the table more than a few times. It's something I've always loved about MacBooks and this is a choice I just don’t understand. No standard ports - If you want to connect HDMI, USB, or Flash, you’ll need extra adapters. Example - If you have a presentation on a flash drive, you're out of luck if you misplace the adapter. Touch Bar - After 6 months, I find that I don’t use it much, even though I really wanted to. More often than not, I accidentally brush the bar and it disrupts what I’m working on. It feels gimmicky and just makes me wish I had a touch screen. I actually think the touchbar causes instability - the laptop often locks up and needs to be rebooted at least once every couple of days...and it is still fairly new.

I bought this computer a couple of weeks ago, and it was great until I had to write a paper for school. I use Microsoft office on my Mac, and I recently upgraded from a 2014 MacBook Air. My MacBook Air did everything I needed for school perfectly, and I only upgraded because I had so many updates downloaded that it took up almost all of my storage. I am in the middle of writing a paper on my MacBook Pro, and my computer is overheating. The only thing I have open on it is Microsoft word. I don't know what the problem is. I even have it sitting on top of my binder on my lap just so it can sit on a flat surface properly, and It is still overheating. I spent way too much money for this for it to not run smoothly.

There is a serious problem with sierra. I have purchased this computer and am past the return period. The WIFI DOES NOT work. I urge you to google problems with mac and sierra connecting to wifi before purchasing . I am a loyal apple customer and am frustrated and disappointed that i purchased a useless piece of 1600 $ machinery

Bought an openbox Macbook pro 13 256 GB with touch bar and faced heating problem. Be cautious while buying an openbox product.

Good laptop, don't buy open box

I bought the late 2016 MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar Open box and I thought that the 1400k investment was worth but it wasn't. First, I didn't get my 1 year warranty because it was an open box, and Apple said that the warranty starts from the original purchase date. Not having a warranty wouldn't have been annoying if I hadn't started experiencing problems with the keyboard and the macbook it self. Some keys started to be unresponsive and they feel weird. The space bar got fully damaged so I had it replaced but shortly after that I started experiencing similar problems with the "delete" and the "enter" keys. The touch bar is also not perfect. It froze a couple of times and it just doesn't work until you restart the Macbook. For the price of $1400 I expected a notebook that did not have as much problems in software and hardware, especially from an Apple product. This is the most expensive investment I've made on Apple and it had been a disappointment. For $1400 you can get a really good computer with top-notch features. In conclusion, a $1400 product is not supposed to be defective and Apple should try to fix the problems that are common in their product. I made some research and they have experienced problems with their "butterfly" keyboards, especially with the first gen. The 2017 macbook apparently has a 2nd gen keyboard but I don't know if it fixes all the problems. Don't buy an open-box product unless you are 100% sure it will not cause you any problems in the long run and don't buy a MacBook Pro is you want to get your money's worth. The touch bar is an incredible feature but it is not worth $1400 bucks.
