Improved remote

The old remote only had a touchpad. This new remote not only has directional buttons but there is an option to turn the selection button into a touchpad. This is a more versatile remote. The metal frame with added weight and usb-c support are also welcome upgrades.

I really love this particular remote because it is equipped with the “Find Me” feature that allows me to use my phone to find the remote when I “lose” it as soon as I put it down. Of course Best Buy priced it higher than other retailers but it was readily in stock.

So much better but too expensive!

Hated the original remote that reacted haphazardly to swipes and presses. Frankly was considering ditching the Apple TV over that issue This new one seems flawless in that regard after using for the last several weeks. Thank you for this new design but the cost should be half for what it costs you to manufacture, Apple. Dinged 1 star for the "Apple Tax". Only recommended for those who can afford it who are stuck with the old remotes.

Needs a better battery life.

I don't understand why the apple TV (2nd generation) doesn't have an easy way to charge the device. but recharges quickly. battery life is mediocre. I often end up using my phone for remote control.

Great remote for tv and speakers

Really easy to setup and connect to my old Apple TV and haven’t experienced any issues yet. I use external speakers and that was easy to connect to them too. I also can’t remember the last time I charged it so the battery is really nice too.
