I purchased this ARRIS SURFboard router to avoid paying modem rental fees from my local cable provider. The set-up was easy and so far I am extremely pleased with the connectivity. The ultra fast downloads speed is like a night vs day comparison to my old unit. I highly recommend this ARRIS to anyone looking for a high quality router modem combo.

TOTALLY worth the money and the satisfaction of not paying Comcast every month for the rest of eternity. PLUS I was able to hook up an ancient, but still functioning laser printer = save the landfill.

We like it a lot. We needed multi ethernet connection and we found this one with 4 and faster capabilities. We needed it, because the two of us now work from home. It is pricy, but Best Buy had a sale and delivered quickly. It was also nice to find out later that our company will reimburse us for upgrade.

Same product that Xfinity has to rent except this one is white. Seems like the internet speeds are faster than they were with theirs (although I forgot to do speedtest before cutting theirs off). Wireless is strong and fast. Reduce your cable bill by $11 per month (plus taxes)...pays for itself in less than the term of a 24 month contract.

The speed and ease of use is wonderful. Will recommend this to everyone, though pricey.

I prefer to own my equipment instead of renting it from comcast. I also use home phone, TV and Internet services from Comcast, which means the normal router BestBuy recommends will NOT work. If you have home phone (and I'm not referring to cell phone) AND internet service with Comcast, then you need THIS MODEL. It's easy to set up and works well.

This item was recommended by a store employee. I initially was just going to replace my old Netgear router. However after discussing my home set-up with one of the store personnel, he recommended this modem replacement. It replaced my old Comcast modem and also allowed me to create a network and connect more devise. I did not need another router after all.

I purchased this modem/router/WiFi combination to upgrade an old modem I had, which couldn't keep up with today's devices without freezing. This model is able to keep up with the demands of a desktop computer, camera security system, streaming video and TV. No glitches; product works well.

If you're looking for a replacement modem to save Comcast's monthly $14 charge, buy this Arris Wi-Fi modem/router. In a year it will be paid off and your bill will drop by $14/month. This Arris modem does what it is supposed to do. You need to go online and register the modem and you're all set!

bought this modem/router combo after much deliberation. i am not disappointed. would say that set up was very easy - plug into the correct ports and launch an internet browser to finish set up. **it's important to note** i have xfinity triple play but i DONT USE the phone capability (price was still cheaper). HOWEVER! the signal that xfinity sends out REQUIRES the modem to have dial tone aka phone capability. the tech will get an error message if you have a regular modem. i bought this modem because i thought i wanted to at least have the option for phone in the future- but most people i spoke to were under the impression that if i wasn't using the phone capability, it wouldn't matter what modem i bought. that is incorrect...internet wouldn't work.
