Required for obtaining the fastest speeds available from your ISP. Upgraded from Comcast - Performance Plus to Blast and the new DOCSIS 3.0 modem was required. Read all the other reviews and their right. Bonded Connections create a more reliable connection and speeds are much improved.

I decided to buy my own modem vs renting one via Internet provider. Buying one will pay for itself on average 8 months. Plus according to several tech sites this is the best home modem for the dollar.

Had it for 2 months now and no issues yet. Also it's nice to not pay the extra fee for a modem lease. Fast connection speeds and stable and no drops.

My last one got burnt up by a lightning strike and like this one just as well. Easy to setup and works well with Cox cable.

Just switched ISPs and didn't want to pay $10 a month to rent their equipment. Let's just say that this purchase will pay for itself in less than a year. Done several speed tests since I hooked it up, and is consistently delivering faster speeds than I'm actually paying for (paying for 30/5, getting 32-33/5.5). Liked it so much that I actually bought one of these for my sister when she recently moved into her new house and switched ISPs as well.

Does exactly what it's designed to do. Has more than enough throughput for 99% of residential users and doesn't create any networking headaches as it does not include any kind of routing features.
