What I never knew was that when you have internet through Oceanic Cable you have to pay a monthly rental fee for their modem. I purchased this modem and now I am saving money every month and in less than a year it will pay for itself!

Easy to setup, no issues with changing over from old modem. Works great with a noticeable improvement in the internet speed. Purchased at the recommendation of the service provider.

I was switching internet providers and really didn't want to spend an extra $10.00 per month to lease one from the cable provider. I saw this online and decided to look up some reviews and I'm very glad I did. Great product, the light is a little too bright, but that is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars

With Time warner bumping up the modem rental, I had to finally get off the couch and shop around for a modem, enough is enough. This was good for my requirement and with my unused rewards points it was a no-brainer to shop at best buy. It was the best deal i could find and should pay for itself in a year. After that I'll have a quality modem and goodbye to monthly rental fee. Install was a breeze, on phone with Time warner for just a few minutes.

My old modem went out pretty slow so I had a chance to shop around. For my internet speeds, this modem is a great deal. It takes my 90-100 Mbps and holds a rock steady signal using multiple speed test sites.

When I tests several time my down/up Mbps use TWC's equip. It was 6Mbps down and .68Mbps. It's below what i pay for it. Cheap standard speed normally 15Mbps down and 1Mbps average. I changed and tests new modem and it went up to 15Mbps down and 2Mbps. Now I know it's worth of price before I upgrade my service without being guessing which should I upgrade ISP with silly high price. I increase speed to 30Mbps and 5Mbps for 20 dollars add. Test my new modem again and it's still much better currently is 33.Mbps and 6Mbps. It's slight over. It's worth.

I was getting tired of paying the $8/mo cable modem leasing fee and when I was told I needed to upgrade my modem to Docsis 3.0, I finally went out and bought my own. As advertised, this modem works on the Comcast network, is an easy install (just swap out with the old one, the connections are the same), was fairly inexpensive (I think $90 or so), and with a call to Comcast it was up and running in no time. Be sure to have the SN and MAC ID ready when you call. The modem has been running without problem since I installed it a couple of months ago.

We recently cut cable and went exclusively with streaming services. Instead of paying the monthly rental fee I elected this modem which works great and will pay itself off in ten months. Works flawlessly and provides great speeds.

I picked this modem based on the recommendation of a friend who works professionally in tech assistance for a major corp. Wanted a modem just for the Internet that is compatible with Comcast. It's efficient, small, fast enough to surf the Web and watch streaming video and at this price, a much better deal than renting a modem from Comcast.

I did research modems on the market and found many positive reviews on this one. I purchased and am very pleased with it. I have fast connection speeds with quick up and downloads. I would suggest to friends to purchase the same.

i got this modem from another company and it didn't work, but i read so many good reviews i figure i should give it another shot I'm glad i did. modem works great with apple router along with comcast internet for anyone wondering.

After shopping around and doing my research, I decided that the SB6183 was overkill and settled for the SB6141 considering that my ISP doesn't offer cable speeds over 100mb/s. I'm a firm believer in owning your own modem, and estimate that over the last two years of owning my previous modem, I saved at least $100 if you consider a $8/mo modem rental and buying your own modem only costs $80. The modem this is replacing is also an SB6141 that was unfortunately burned out by bad cabling in the house my wife and I just bought. Supposedly Comcast was supposed to test for that when they charged me $80 for a professional install, but that was a joke. Long story short, I blame Comcast not the modem for it's short life, which is exactly why I am caught red handed buying another one.

I have had other modems and this one by far is one of the better inexpensive modems you get your money's worth and the quality and efficiency is there I recommend this to anyone

The set up was very easy, plug and play, my Comcast recognized modem with no issue. Up and running in about 5 minutes. The led indicators are VERY bright yet not marked very well. They are so bright you can't really tell what they are unless you keep the instructions open. Doesn't take long to figure out what they represent but I guess it's a matter of preference. Not a big deal but that is my ONLY issue with this modem. Definitely better than renting one from the provider that way over charges for a rental. It will pay for itself in no time.

This is a great modem, easy to set up, good through-put. Only downside is that the LEDs are really bright. I can almost use them to read by.

Needed a modem that would work with xfinity and keep my high speeds. It actually runs faster now and upgradable in the future. Must buy after the rental fees went up this year.

After being tired of paying extra to lease, I decided to invest in my own modem. I already have the Apple router, but need the modem for my time warner internet needs. It was easy to install and I was up and running in no time.
