DONT BUY FOR OPTIMUM

I returned it to the store.

Beware of resold products - creates issues

Modem must have been returned to the store then resold. The issue is that once it has been on the Comcast network for someone else , it is very difficult to install. It took 3+ weeks to figure out that because someone else used it before me that Comcast could not allow me to use it until they confirmed it was not stolen. They never truly told me this until I demanded to talk to a supervisor. They just kept saying they needed to rest the device and it would take 24-48 hours. Have to return it and hope that no one else gets it.

No Router capabilities !

No DHCP available, need to connect with a router which defeats the purpose of having a gig network only to have it go back through a 100mb router! This of course defeated the wireless speed also. If you have a gig speed router you’re good, if not, extra purchase! Also, Arris modem is locked down by the factory, you don’t even get to control your own modem!
