Save the modem rental fee

The cable providers make the standards that these have to follow. They either follow the standards and work... or they don't. Mine works and has for some time. It replaced a long ago life ended modem that didn't have to worry about channel bonding because it only used one channel. I should have purchased this long ago but didn't. Now I have and it will pay for itself within one year.

Comcast strikes again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own my own modem. I refuse to pay $10 a month for something that can cost me way less. I had a trusty MOTOROLA SB6121 for 4 years and it still works. Comcast doesn't and they told me I needed to upgrade as they are no longer supporting the 6121. This one works just the same. The 6183 opened up more bandwidth I was apparently paying for but not receiving with the 6121 and seems to be future proof for the time being.
