A solid upgrade over my old combo

I had been using an older Zoom 5352 Router/Modem combo for the past few years. After a while I began to feel that I had outgrown that hardware and began looking for routers/modems to upgrade to.
After purchasing a Netgear Nighthawk router, I knew I needed a simple yet quality modem to ensure that my modem wasn't bottlenecking the ability of the Nighthawk to give me broader device support (girlfriend on Netflix, the iPad, etc.) along with faster speeds and lower ping on my Xbox one. Keep in mind I'm in a smaller area so only get ~60-80 mbps down. Overall I've been pleased with this modem- initially I was going to get a model that provided 16x8 channel bonding but was "upsold" by the associate and I'm glad I doubled the downstream channels. Overall I've been very pleased, and have had this up and running for a month with zero outages.

Best Modem for under $100

I was able to get this modem on sale for around $90 dollars and that is the sweet spot I needed to buy to get rid of the Cable Provider's Modem. This modem will be good for 3 or more years and will be well worth it compared to the $7 or more dollars the providers charge you.

Does exactly what it says it does. My first attempt at cord cutting. Bought this separate from a 2in 1, decided on a TP router and both pushing the spread as expected. Relatively easy to set up, about 20 minutes and a quick call into Comcast.

We bought two of these for home and our other property. The first installation went flawlessly. But we haven't connected the second one yet due to a compatibility issue with our carrier.

This is a perfect modem for anyone who prefers to purchase their own equipment instead of renting one from your internet provider. Just be cognizant of the speed the modem can handle and the router you purchase separately.

If you're looking to avoid the Comcast modem rental fees, this thing will end up paying for itself in the long run. Dropping a chunk of change on a good modem means you can keep the modem for a few years without upgrading and at the end of the first year, it's basically paid for itself.

I am thrilled with this device. I really was unsure if buying a new modem would do anything. I can tell you it truly did related to speed. I have 200 meg service from Comcast but was only seeing about 125 down. Now I am seeing 235M (Smokin' - at least compared to before).

This modem seems to do a good job for the price. Replaced a Comcast modem/router with this one. Easy setup. Service seems slow at times. But I’m blaming most of that on the signal coming into the modem. Even though It’s smaller and it looks like it’s made cheaper than the previous one, it seems to be of very good quality.

works with Comcast. You have to have the filter that Comcast provides - the incoming coax connects to the filter then the other end of the filter connects to the modem.

Excellent upgrade from the junk that internet providers rent to people, and no more rental fees.Internet speeds are much faster, and when paired with a quality router WiFi speed and range are greatly increased.

Great modem for what I needed it for. The only reason I returned it is because I switched to fiber optic internet with U-verse Gigapower and the cable modem was no longer needed. Other than that it was a great modem and I exceeded the speeds I was paying for through the cable company.

This was recommended in store by staff. I took it home and had it running with little effort. Comcast figured it out just by me connecting while logged in. I didn't need help from comcast.
I like that the Xfinity wifi is no longer showing as available from my house.

Only negative is that the included flyer said that the light would be blue or green and it was actually white. Didn't seem to matter. Worked with Xfinity. I didn't have any computer with an ethernet port, but that didn't stop me from configuring using an iPhone.
