BEST headset for big heads and use with glasses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these to use for gaming and for work-related phone-calls on VOIP and in-game live chat. Only had them for approx 24 hours so I can't speak to things like durability and I have yet to try the telephone features, BUT based ONLY on the gaming/surround sound quality these rate at least 4 stars. Microphone is a bit flimsy but works very well and the Mixamp while slightly gimmicky is pretty cool and feels very solid... keep in mind so far I've only used it for chat in COD so YMMV. Now on to the MOST important factor in headphones for your truly ... my BIG FAT HEAD rotfl! I'm joking here but also serious having gone through 7-8 expensive sets because even without my glasses most are just too tight! (WITH glasses they become physically painful after about 40 minutes) To be fair I DID have to adjust the A40 TR to its maximum size setting, BUT at maximum they fit me perfectly and are comfortable after HOURS of gaming! FINALLY!!!! FIVE stars and they deserve every one.

Work headset
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my husband got a pair for gaming at home I got my headset for my job because I’m required to wear a headset for 10 hours straight. My ears do not hurt, they are super comfortable, and it fits around my industrial piercing beautifully. A must buy.

Best I've ever had!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned several gaming headsets of different brands and price points, but this is the first one I've been excited to put back on my head! Others never really fit me comfortably, would hurt after a couple hours, got too hot, mic would get in the way, etc... But these are near perfect! I wouldn't change a thing about the fit or form of these, and they look the best of any I've owned too! Mis is awesome and can be flipped from R to L. Comfort and fit wise, they're the most comfortable and best feeling. No question. When it comes to sound, they're fantastic! The mix amp is pretty awesome to have on these! They feel very well made and perform that way too. Super customizable =no complaints whatsoever!

Great sound and quality for the price...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK no doubt that more money buys (usually) a better headset. Switched to these coming off a $100-ish surround sound gaming headset and the higher price definitely shows with immediate improvements in fit, comfort, sound quality coming in, and mic quality going out. Build quality definitely a plus, and this is not a set of phones that you figure will need replacing in a year or so, these seem built for long-term performance. Just starting to get into the gameplay recording and broadcasting channels, so this is a first step in having equipment that allows the game and mic audio to be captured and controlled with a designed device. From first attempts, there is a small learning curve to set up the pre-sets to accommodate different recording and broadcasting requirements, but once the pre-sets are dialed in it is very easy to switch around with the push of a button for up to 4 settings. There is still a lot to be learned to get the best performance out of the Mixamp Pro console, but not overly complex – just takes some trial and error and getting used to having more options in the new equipment. Definitely download the Command Center software to be able to fully appreciate the versatility and performance capabilities of this rig. Also other reviewers recommend downloading the Astro Command Center from the Windows App Store instead of from the Astro web site – didn’t try both of them out for myself but just went with the Windows App Store version (running on a PC for gaming) and there were not problems with the installation and recognition of the hardware. There are many tips and tricks for the best setup given in other reviews, so please give those a read to help you avoid frustration or having to actually read the instruction manual. Particularly if you are a PC gamer, read through the tips from reviewer JamexRZ for lots of helpful information. If you are planning to tote this system around for use at other locations, plan to get a tote bag or something to keep everything together, as there is not one provided with the headset. Have room for some extra cables that are needed, as nothing worse than wanting to show off your new gear and not having everything you need in the bag to get it working. Overall, these seem worth the price tag with the comfort, sound quality, strong build, and recording/broadcasting accessories.

Outstanding headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using a variety of headsets over the past several years. I've used Turtle Beach, Sony, Logitech however never Astro's. Astro vs TB has always seemed to be like Coke vs Pepsi, Android vs iOS, etc. I've always been fine with TB's and they always seemed to work well. However, after using the Astro's for a bit, I can see why these are regarded as some of the best gaming headsets on the market. I've used the TB Elite Pro 2 which are the closest competitor these A40's. Both are wired and both have an amp that is used in tandem with the wired headset. As far as fit/comfort, I think both are equal in that respect. I like the TB's a little better just due to the material on the earcups. Both bands feel a bit tight however I have a large head so that's normal for me. As for appearance, I think that has to go to the A40's. They look quite nice and don't look like some normal headsets out on the market. For performance, the A40's seem to do it for me. While the TB Elite Pro 2 are quite good, the A40's seem to extend beyond the TB's just a bit in all aspects. Sound is a bit clearer/crisper on the A40 as well as range. Bass notes seem to sound a bit better on the A40 too. Mics are about equal for both headsets. Both headsets provided clear voice chat both from me and my teammates. I'm not too big a fan of the amps however. Personally, I like the simplicity of the Sony Gold wireless headset. Seems everyone is going the wired route these days however I preferred the wireless headsets. That said, the wired headsets from TB/Astro seem to be on par with each other in most respects. However, I think the A40's are it for me.
