I recently purchased the Astro A40 TR headset, and I have to say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This headset is a true gaming masterpiece. This headset is extremely comfortable and is one of the best quality sounding gaming headsets that money can buy. The mix amp works flawlessly and the Astro gaming software that you download on your PC allows you to customize your sound frequencies and provides you with your optimized gaming experience. Unfortunately, the mix amp itself does not have a power button on it compared to the previous generation. I personally enjoyed the power button on the mix amp when I am using my PS4 and I would like to instantly change sound output to my television, monitor, or soundbar. However, the comfortability and the sound quality of the headset is incredible and it makes up for the missing power options. Gaming audio, music, and videos are crisp in the ears, bass frequencies really balanced out of the box, and the cable length of the headset is at a great length.

This is my first Astro purchase ever and I have to say that I’m not disappointed. The sound quality is great and the mix amp is very useful. I love the removable magnet plates and the customizable options that it gives you. The set up can be a bit tedious, but if you follow the instructions it should be a breeze! You won’t regret it! I just wish the cable management was easier lol.

Upgraded from a Turtle Beach Recon 50. Major improvement in terms of audio, configuration, and mic performance. However, I do think the A40 w/ mix amp is a little overpriced. The headphones do have some weight to them and long use can become uncomfortable on the ears. However, the mix amp is awesome for quick audio and mic control. Don't know, if I would purchase again, but buying the mix amp separate I would recommend.

The mix amp itself is excellent. The actual headset quality is decent. It still lacks bass but at least it is comfortable. The biggest issue is the 2mm aux cable is made pretty cheap. Mine wore out in 3 weeks causing a lot of distortion to my audio. You can literally plug any other headset into the mix amp and achieve the same quality of sound. Not worth it's price.

I will never use another type of headset again. These feel amazing, sound amazing, and the mix amp is a life saver, if you like to still hear your game in the background, but not have it drown out your chat party, these are the ones for you

I was hesitant but they are so comfortable and have great sound. I love having the mix amp, helps so much when playing different games and wanting to hear more sound over the party.

I love the way these headsets feel especially for long hours of gaming, the sound quality is perfect plus I love the mix amp controls and app that helps you setup different sound to best fit you.

I have the previous version of the Astro 40TRs and I absolutely love them. Their sound is amazing with the open back design opening the soundstage and adding a great deal of spatial details. This new version sounds even better and the mix amp is preferable to me with the dials left and right as opposed to top and bottom. It allows for a more horizontal footprint in my particular setup. They are very pricey so if you have the old ones and think they are fine; stay with them. I had $400 burning a hole in my pocket so I bought them. If you don’t have a pair and you can afford them, they be the last ones you’ll NEED to buy for a long, long time!

These Astro headphones are awesome! The set up was pretty straightforward and simple. The audio and build quality of the headphones by themselves is very good. Also, the Mixamp adds a whole world of customizable presets. Once you find the one that best suits you you'll love them even more. I especially like that you can control the volume as well as game/chat audio all from the mixamp. Overall I am very happy after owning them for two months now. Would definitely recommend.

I have tried turtle beach, hyperx, and the Sony platinum. These are the best. The ear muffs are comfortable and allow a little bit of sound in through the breathable mesh so I am not yelling like I was with the Platinums. The real star though, is the mixamp. Love being able to adjust in game sound and voice chat from my party when I need to hear footsteps or when my Marty is too quiet. Would buy again easily.

These headsets has made a difference while I play. I can hear footsteps clearly nice bass, perfect for Call of duty or first person shooter games. The mix amp works perfect while playing and you can hear your friends or if the game is too loud just heard the knob to voice and you can hear your friends better.

These headphones are great for sound and dont have to be charged at any time and then the mix amp is really good if you’re looking into streaming

Very good sound and the mix amp is awesome. Very pleased with this purchase. Would recommend them to everyone. The turtle beaches were a little more comfy but these are still better in my opinion.
