This has been an amazing purchase! I found this as a discount open-box deal for a steal of a price. So far, I have a great time getting comfortable with the system.
Oddities:
1. Salesperson stated that the system SSD had been factory reformatted and then upgraded to a stock Windows 11 based off the included Win10 Home licensing... This was not the case, as I had to initially go through the setup licensing for Windows 10 Home and then wait about 72 hours before I was given the ability to download and install Windows 11.
2. During the installation setup for Windows 10/11 I was given the option to initiate fingerprint scanning as an ID check... I haven't found any documentation or hardware points that indicate there is a fingerprint scanner.
3. It's too bad that the system doesn't allow dual channel memory upgrading. One RAM chip (8 GB) is soldered on the motherboard and there is a 2nd slotted chip (8 GB) that can be removed and upgraded with a single SODIMM (max 32 GB) to bring the system to 40GB RAM... haven't done this yet but will soon.
Overall, the system is a powerful laptop that I am using for gaming, programming, and number crunching. Very satisfied!!!

I love it. Been playing games beautifully but definitely get a warranty. It’s my 5th year having it and I’m noticing some performance issues. Game play is slowing down and not as smooth but other than that it’s been a gem

I was deciding between this laptop and the G15 but decided to go with this one since it was in stock and the G15 was not. I wanted to use this as a college laptop meaning battery life is very important to me. In fact, battery life is what initially drew me to the ASUS Zephyrus line of laptops. On this laptop, I got between 5 and 6 hours of battery life with daily usage with all of the fancy stuff turned off (high refresh rate, brightness at 50%, integrated graphics, etc.) I wasn't really satisfied with that since my goal was 8 hours so that is one of the reasons I ended up returning it for the G15. Another issue I had with the device was severe backlight bleed. The panel itself is amazing but in low light, high brightness environments, it is extremely noticeable. The corners were all yellow and parts at the top and bottom of the screen as well. The performance was great as expected but I think it's a better bet to go with the G15 for better battery life as the AMD R9 series of chips is much more efficient than Intel's latest i9 series.

I bought this laptop for school with the purpose of using it as a gaming, productivity, creative, and engineering platform and I was taking a shot in the dark with this. I was trying to decide between a Gigabyte Aero 15 XC, Lenovo legion pro 5, and Razer Blade 15. There are plenty of things those laptops do great at this laptop really rocks whatever it does.
Despite stellar reviews in some places and more modest remarks in others, I did not know what I would think about this laptop. I saw this as having "ok" screen compared to other things and a smaller 3060 compared to the 3070's that can be attained for this price point and it seemed to lack some other smaller things like full RAM slot customization (due to 16GB being soldered to the board)...but little did I know that this thing would be amazing.
To start, this laptop has amazing build quality. No keyboard flex, minimal screen flex, and an aluminum lid account for a solid feel. The inner body is rubberized which means it smudges and gets greasy easily but that is a minor thing. The screen can clock to a refresh rate of 165 hz, which seems odd, but it makes everything look so smooth, and not to mention the quality and size of the screen is great (amazing color accuracy and brightness). This does not have a screen like the Aero 15 XC or Razer Blade but this is more than enough to please one's eyes.
Here was the selling point for me: the 11th gen Intel i9-11900H. This processor obliterates creative app benchmarks and is amazing for strenuous work. Other laptops that have this processor are at least $200 more expensive. The drawback that comes with this is that it is a power-hungry processor which greatly impacts battery life but there is no such thing as amazing battery life with a "gaming laptop". Pairing this processor with the screen, the 3060, the 16gb of ram, and the fast SSD just allow this laptop to be a beast. Not to mention, ASUS's armoury crate software allows for tweaks everywhere and is very useful for performance. I have no complaints about this laptop; even the fans are very managable and not obnoxious and it has not gotten very hot on me, despite me putting ridiculous loads on it.
Now for this price point, this laptops sibling, the zephryus G15/14 should come to mind. Both are laptops built on the same platform, but the G15 has a ryzen 7 5900 which is no where near as power hungry and has better battery life but cannot squeeze out as much power under load as the i9.
All around, this is an amazing laptop and I would recommend it if battery power is not a concern and that extra "oomph" from the i9 is something that interests you.

I really like this laptop thanks to its great aesthetic and performance. While the battery life is nothing great, this laptop can run most games that I've tried at medium to high settings at 60-150 fps when running performance mode, and even higher in turbo mode. Just don't go in expecting the performance of a desktop or anything, and know that the fans can run quite loud when running under intense loads. Overall, it's a good purchase if you need the portability of a laptop but with higher than normal performance.
Just know that if you do choose this, you should ALYWAYS play games on AC power, not battery, for the best battery life and performance, as it makes a massive difference. On battery power it seems most things are run on the CPU even if the GPU is not in use. Also, you may want to consider buying a cooling pad to help with heat distribution and fan noises as well.

Good for casual gaming and for work. Gets mildly hot but doesnt get that loud when casual browsing (ie watching a movie/youtube while on discord with friends). Battery could be better but I’m always near an outlet but to commute it doesn’t last that long. Screen is beautiful. Keyboard is very tactile and rbg is one zone but that’s more than I need. Very generous trackpad, Im coming from a macbook so the palm reject is not so good (too sensitive) needs some getting used to it but this is only my experience/opinion

I got this laptop open box about two years ago and use it on a daily basis. I've had no problems with it besides it over heating- luckily it's never gotten to a point of damage since I use a laptop fan at all times. The added help of the fan lets me play games like Monster Hunter World, Path of Titans, and much more. I do travel with this laptop on a weekly basis and have had no troubles with it getting bumped around in the car. I highly recommend this laptop, just make sure to get a fan for it!

very impressive gaming laptop, it has handled every game i played on it on ultra settings and still keeps decent fps, games like gears 5, battlefield 5, and forza horizon 4. the screen is excellent with mild black light bleed. i added a extra ssd and more ram in my laptop and it performs excellent, my only issue was it was very hard unscrewing the screw needed to install the ssd to the point that the screw will thread. i had to use needle noise pliers to get it off but it worked i have no idea why it was so tight, one of the other reviewers noted that so i knew what to expect when i upgraded. overall i am very happy with my purchase and i am sure i will be for years to come.

Good Value - Runs Hot

I bought this machine back in March and had high expectations given the 11th gen i9 processor inside (even paired with a relatively entry-level GPU). Long story short, this machine crushed my workflow and ran my games surprisingly well for the 6gb of vram inside. The two real downsides is that this laptop runs hot and it runs loud. Want to lower those temps? The fans will be screaming. Want a quieter machine? The heat will cause throttling. Don't get me wrong, it's a great product for the money, but you should know what you're getting yourself into.

Gorgeous display, great performance, excellent thermals (finally a laptop that isn't constantly thermal throttling) - this laptop is near perfect. Was concerned the 3060 would be a little underpowered for the display but it holds up well and should be able to do 60fps+ with reasonable settings in the most demanding AAA games.
There is one flaw though - this model comes with a Mediatek MT7921 Wi-Fi 6 card instead of the much more standard Intel AX200... and this card currently has issues connecting to various Wi-Fi 6 routers and access points. Was able to work around the problem by changing channels or forcing the card to operate in 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) mode but this is going to be a problem for those less tech savvy and when you don't have control of the Wi-Fi you're connecting to. Hopefully new drivers can fix this but using the Intel AX200 would have avoided this issues.

I've been in need of a Windows laptop for my college engineering classes and I can easily say I could not be more satisfied. The M16 has been amazing, especially the display. I LOVE having a pretty light and portable machine that has a giant 16" display. The 16:10 aspect ratio is wonderful for getting work done and makes movies and games pop.
The performance of the laptop is no slouch either. I've been wanting to get into PC gaming for a long while now after being a lifetime console gamer. I can say I'm super excited to play games on this machine and the bit that I have already been able to play is great. The i9 and 3060 combos in this blow right through anything I've thrown at it. The laptop does get quite loud under heavy loads but I can easily live with that when I'm getting the performance available to me. The speakers are quite good, get pretty loud, and don't sound tinny or muffled. The keyboard is nice and tactile and provides easy and responsive feedback, allowing me to get into an easy typing groove.
Overall, I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a great combination of gaming and productivity performance. I'm for sure going to be using this as my all-in-one machine for my college classes and gaming.

Awesome laptop so fast and I run Microsoft flight simulator, all my stuff for the simulator and vr headset and runs smooth never a problem. I have to say kepp a fan next to it just so it doesn't over heat never overheat on me but if ypu keep your electronics cooler and never run them hot even the charger is next to the fan so it will last me longer. And for the price you get more than other gaming laptops

The Best Gaming Laptop I've Owned

The build quality is excellent. The laptop looks professional enough for business use, yet you can choose to make the backlite keyboard any solid color you like. This brings me to the keyboard. The Keyboard is excellent. It has a nice solid feel with just enough key travel. The area around the keyboard has a soft-touch, rubbery kind of texture, which is comfortable to rest your hands on.
I play World of Warcraft on high settings and the gaming performance is excellent. I get around 100 frames per second with vertical synch turned off.
This is the coolest running laptop I have ever gamed on. The fans are somewhat loud when gaming, but the sound is more of a whoosh that is not unpleasant. I game with a headset anyway. The built-in speakers are nice for a laptop and are clear enough. The screen is amazing. It is bright and the aspect ratio is perfect.
Battery life for a laptop this powerful is a little above average.
I have owned a lot of gaming laptops, but for me this Asus-ROG Zephyrus M16 is the best laptop I have ever owned.
If you need a computer or gaming, video editing, photo editing, or any other high-level use, I strongly recommend this one.

OMG, this laptop is a beast. I'm sooo glad I waited for the full 11th Gen Intel to come out. This model has the RTX3060 in it too. A little tweeking needed out of the box like switching from performance mode to windows mode for the graphics, no more loud fans. It now auto changes to the RTX once games are started up now. It feels so liberating to have a super fast windows machine. I can play Cyberpunk on Ultra settings, even ray tracing on ultra/insane. I can play Gears 5 too much faster and better than on Xbox. Well worth the money, all in one powerhouse PC and gaming machine. VR ready too. You wont be disappointed.

As a college student and occasional gamer, I’d been researching for 5-8 months for a reliable, portable, and efficient gaming laptop that would serve its purpose for all functions. This laptop certainly meets my expectations and all the of boxes I expected it to!
At first I was disappointed by the loudness of the fan as well as the iffy graphics, but discovered there is the ASUS application installed for adjusting it all! “Silent” and “Turbo” mode are certainly my go to’s!
After my boyfriend’s horrible experiences with Lenovo for his brand new gaming laptop, he will actually be selling his and buying this laptop. As soon as this ASUS arrived, we loved the sleek look, functionality, and the size/weight.
One thing I will comment on is that I do wish the battery was better and that the keyboard backlighting did match up with games as they’re displayed and played.
One individual commented that it replicated the color patterns from their video game they were playing, but I have not found anything to enable this.
If you’ve bought this laptop on sale and find it’s cheaper a bit after, make sure to price match when it’s best, as you can only price match once, even when within the return/exchange window.
From various providers in the past I was able to price match 2-3 times and I was surprised Best Buy restricted to once only.

This is a really great choice for a creative or business minded user who games on the side. The 165Hz 16:10 QHD calibrated 100% DCI-P3 display is crisp and beautiful. If you've never seen a high refresh display, this display will blow you away.
The i9 in this laptop is one of the best you can get, and paired with the Nvidia RTX 3060, you can basically throw anything at this computer. Unlike it's older sibling, the 2021 Zephyrus G15, even though they are the same dimensions and weight, it has a web camera and a taller display, filling in the bottom bezel. The color is also much closer to black than the grays of the Zephyrus G14 and G15.
One star was knocked off from the laptop due to the fans. It's not as insanely loud as the G14, but with the very power hungry (but capable) i9, the fans have to work much harder than if this was running a comparable AMD 5900HX.
