    Flawed firmware, constant connection issues.

    I’ve had this router for 3 months, there have been 3 firmware updates since none have fixed the constant disconnection issues. I have spent hours trying to remedy this and now have a $300 router that doesn’t work consistently. Please don’t buy this unless you prefer wasting your time and money. I’ll be buying a different router to replace this. It’s unfortunate that ASUS continues to sell a product that doesn’t work as advertised.

    Bad router

    Has great Asus routers in the past but this one dropped the ball. Multiple dropped connections daily, sometimes connection speeds drops to intolerable levels. Also for wifi 7 to work, you have to be really close to to the router. Been waiting for new firmware but no signs of anything for past 2 months.

    Absolute Dud

    I would normally review something in detail, but this isn't worth the time. Any wired connections work great, but all bands have horrendous range and speed. Standing directly next to the router, I was getting 2mbps down. Spent 4 hours updating firmware, changing settings, splitting and consolidating ISPs, and more with zero changes.

      We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing wireless connection problems. To resolve the unstable connection, if connecting legacy devices, please check updates for these devices. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6e or WIFI-7. Try connecting these legacy devices manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Also, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if it is running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at:  https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/wifi-7/all-series/asus-rt-be92u/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=ASUS-RT-BE92U. Furthermore, place the router in the center of the area you want to cover, avoid placing the router near metal objects, electronic devices or direct sunlight, position the router on a flat, hard surface and halfway between the floor and ceiling. Additionally, dense building materials, such as gypsum, concrete walls and planks can affect Wi-Fi signal penetration.     Unstable and unusable; do not buy

    Don't buy. Unfixable firmware issues will cause the router to reboot every half hour or so. The stability issues are not fixed despite several firmware updates from Asus. If you do buy it, make sure to note down Best Buy reduced their return policy to 15 days and will refuse a return outside of that window unless a $50 membership fee is paid - even though the product is defective and unfixable.
