I should have taken the reviews seriously. This router is bad. Constant disconnects over WiFi. Ethernet seems fine. I tried a few things I found on the internet to fix it, it clearly such a problem that there’s a lot of people talking about it. Nothing worked. If it didn’t have the disconnecting issue it would be perfect. I like ASUS a lot and this router checked all the boxes. Should have known it was too good to be true. Stay away.

Really terrible. It takes forever to boot up, setup took several retries to work, and then once I got it up and running, any time I changed a setting it would reboot and half the time the config page wouldn't load at all. CPU and ram on it always show high usage. After the first reboot the internet stops working completely. The only fix is a factory reset. I even updated it to the latest software but it's just been these same issues on repeat over hours of troubleshooting. Really bad product, avoid it!

Device crashes every day or two and reboots itself, it always runs 100% CPU usage even though I do not even use it for anything except a wi-fi access point. I have tried all troubleshooting recommended by ASUS and still have constant issues. Buy at your own risk.
I recommend buying a different brand or if you have to go with ASUS just pay more for a better model.

I am a former ASUS AC1900/AKA ASUS 68U user. I had few of these and it was stable to the point whereby you do not ever need to touch the router.
The day i switched to this, i traded my units in and i got this junk!. Total Trash.. it reboots every half an hour or so. I have tried factory reset, newest firmware. Asus said go to BestBuy, Bestbuy Says go to Asus. This is the last junk i buy from BestBuy with Asus Brand. BestBuy should remove this trash off the shelf!

To resolve the unstable connection, check if the PC or device connecting to the router is working properly and within range to the router, the router is within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired with a network cable, your ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable, and the router's security credentials matches with your ISP's modem/gateway security information. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6e and WIFI-7, please check updates for these devices. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Abysmal wifi performance. I installed in place of another Asus router and swapping back and forth gave 1/3 the speed of the old router. Wired performance is really good but I couldn’t deal with the rotten wireless. I would not recommend this yo anyone.
