The screen was one of the main reason to purchase, but the screen already defect from the get go, bleeding light on all comer. The worst stuff didn't kick in until it pass return window. Graphic glitching, the screen is getting even worst (included picture suppose to be a complete black screen), WiFi drop out, and sticking key... only warranty is the option now but after read many horrid warranty return story ( they don't make it easy at all) I'm now hesitate because I don't want to be 2 months without a computer :( .

Dear TT229,
It's regrettable to hear that the screen is bleeding and the wifi is dropping. All our products do go through an intensive quality control testing process to ensure that customers get units that are in proper working condition, what you've experienced was not intentional and this is a random case. Certainly, a warranty repair would be more suitable, you can attempt these steps below. If you wish to discuss this further, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.

Great performance for the price. Runs games well. The RAM has an extra slot and there is an extra SSD slot. The battery is not that good…. But that’s expected for a gaming laptop.

First I love Asus products. They typically have great build quality, performance, and reliability. That is why I purchased this laptop somewhat on faith in the company.
In the end I returned this laptop for 2 main Reasons.
1) Screen Flicker- I did observe all the flicker and error screens that other reviews mention. That being said, once drivers are installed and up to date, the issue mostly goes away. If you hover over tabs or min/max a window, then you might catch a flicker... and that was enough to make me put back in the box.
2) Probably most importantly, the review embargo on the RTX 3050 just lifted, and well... the performance numbers are not great. Calling this a "30 series" graphics card is a stretch. This is really just a beefed up GTX 1660 or 1070 with ray tracing. The graphics card is nowhere near the cutting edge performance of the rest of the 30 series cards. And let's not forget that laptop GPUs are not nearly as good as desktops.
For it's price point I would expect a lot more. I would suggest anyone paying this much for a laptop should just go an extra $150 and get something a better on the performance end. When you finance, you barely notice the difference in price
Fit and finish was a bit underwhelming too with materials feeling very "plastic". There is a lot of flex and give in certain parts of the frame. As an ASUS fan, I was surprised.
To be fair, there were a lot of things I liked about this laptop:
Great size of screen (this this is a beast in size)
Great 10key space
RGB keys were nice
CPU was peppy and responsive
Fans were quite
Battery seemed fine
Weight was normal
Laptop had plenty of usb ports
M.2 space for more memory
And the GPU performance is not the fault of Asus at all! NVIDIA should have called it a RTX2050 but I suppose they like to make money.
I am planning to try a Asus ROG Zephyrus

Dear Frank,
It's great to know that you love ASUS products!
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you experience flickering and performance issues with the laptop.
All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. The flickering may be caused by electrical interference or RF noise. To resolve the issue, please try to connect the laptop to another known good power source or AC outlet and away from electronic or electrical devices that maybe generating excessive electrical or RF noise. Uncleaned power source or faulty electrical or electronic device that is generating excessive electrical noise can disturb static-sensitive devices or components in the laptop that may cause the screen to flicker. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or part that stop working prematurely under normal usage.
If you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Runs quick once you upgrade to 16gm ram! Was easy to upgrade and has decent cooling. Forces you to windows 11 though once turned on which can take a while to get used to. Bios and driver updates available so it has support. No thunderbolt support. Colors and sound are decent! The leds can be turned off using software. Nice deal.

This laptop is awesome, durable material and excellent performance in RTX games AFTER upgrade. With the slow Intel SSD with Windows 11 installed and one 8GB stick of RAM this thing is nearly unusably slow. I upgraded to a fast kit of 16GB RAM and an Intel 980 SSD with Windows 10 and it is amazing. I used this in place of a desktop for about 6 months during the GPU shortage. The display leaves a little to desire; colors look strange to me, but it is plenty bright. The display is non-glossy but is highly susceptible to glare (more so than some other laptops I have owned). The cooling system is plenty to handle the heat of these component. Just a note: the GPU is a major bottleneck to the CPU, so if you are primarily a gamer or do lots of GPU-intense tasks I would look for a 3050TI laptop; a higher-end CPU will not benefit you.

Build quality is really good, the screen has washed out colors, but a simple color correction software can fix that, not as a bright as I thought as well, Gpu is pretty good,(better then the 1650ti) cpu is a beast, ssd speed is acceptable. THE only bad thing that I honestly think ruined it is the ram, it came with a single rank-single channel ddr4 8gb stick that for a laptop meant for gaming, was gimped by the stick of ram (windows 11 and the bloatware used about 65% while Idle!). I later changed the ram for 32gb 16x2 dual rank-dual channel ddr4 3200mhz ram and the performance was litireally doubled, no joke. They really cheaped out on the ram of all things and maybe the screen as well, but for $680(when I bought it) it's really a hard deal to beat, even with the ram swap.

Just purchased on Black Friday and after the first day of use its exceeded my expectations for its price range. The build quality doesn't feel like they held back, no bloatware, nice RGB keyboard settings (easy to turn off if you don't want it). The 3050 graphics handled games like Final Fantasy XV, Hitman 1, and Cyberpunk 2077. I would advise adding addition memory for newer games like Cyberpunk 2077 for the best experience. You will be playing games at lower settings than a 3060 graphics, but for a gaming laptop in this price range your are getting what is advertised. The monitor looks nice and clean and keyboard/trackpad feel great. The fans will ramp up but are not high pitched and adjust to game play. I added an XBOX controller to play games and it worked without any additional setting/software (Steam). My main reason for buying this unit is to have a mobile option for gaming when I can't use my Desktop gaming rig (3600AMD/5600XT/Ultra-Wide 1080p).
Be ready for day 1 updates for Windows 11 and BIOS.

I purchased this for my son as a way to get him started with PC gaming. He is coming from a 2016 XBOX S. I’ve been building computers all of my life, so I know a PC is superior, but the ridiculous GPU situation has prevented me drom building one for him. This laptop is great. If you are expecting 144 fps then you are purchasing the wrong laptop. However, paired with DUAL CHANNEL (why single channel RAM is shipped these days is beyond me) RAM (search SODIMM on Best Buy and get at least 3200mhz) this laptop will handle anything you throw at it on medium settings and some games even ultra. Forza Horizon 5 (all Forza games really) is his favorite series. With proper tuning of the game settings he gets a constant 72 locked FPS. The easy expandibility of this laptop is also a big plus. I ordered a 2TB Nvme SSD to store his games on.

First laptop I received had keyboard and screen issues brand new out of the box. However, I quickly got a replacement and this one works well. For the price that I got it for during Black Friday it’s worth it! Got 144hz display, I understand color is not amazing, but playing FPS games make this worth it. The 6 core 11th gen i5 is powerful enough to play some esports game, and use this for zoom meetings. RTX 3050 is no where near amazing, but again it is enough to play esports titles. I was able to upgrade the 1x8gb into 2x8gb easily for only $26 more through another website, there’s also a way to add another m.2 drive, which is awesome. Battery doesn’t seem that great, but this will be plugged in if I use it for games.

Its just perfect for me i can play some games on high settings and have a great expirence. Also for me i have been able to play minecraft at 100 fps to 113fps and fortnite on 89 fps to 97fps but on custom setings . But if you are going to stream you will need to add at least another 8 gb ddr4 3200 mhz of laptop ram.
