Blink 5 camera set with module

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Blink cameras have a decent build quality to them, but the unscrewing to get inside the unit is just not worth it. There is no sd card capability inside them & you have to buy a separate module to even save your video unless you subscribe to one of their plans. The modules lose connection multiple times a week and sometimes just stop working completely, with no help from Amazon or Best Buy after 15 days. So keep looking if you are in the market for a real security camera setup.

Posted .Hello, Tazman812. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Blink Outdoor 4 wireless security system. I am sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing and have some recommendations to try and help with the module losing connection. I first recommend checking your Wi-Fi signal strength where the module is located and moving the device to where it has the best connection. Power cycle your Sync Module by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Power cycle your camera by removing the batteries for five seconds, then reinserting them. Check the battery level and replace them if needed. Check the signal strength between the Sync Module and the Outdoor 4 camera. Works well with the Sync module that came with my series 3 cameras and since that has local storage (I also have a cloud subscription) I am using that with this camera so cant speak to the core module that came with this camera. Its nice to have an additional module, if I decide to move this camera further away from the house the module can be located facilitate that. Got this from BB during Prime days so the camera and core module were cheaper than the camera alone so feel like it was a good price. If I didnt have a Sync module already I would recommend getting the upgrade from the core.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded some older Blink cameras to the Outdoor 4 and I'm very happy with them. My cameras are in high traffic areas and are very busy, so I don't get particularly good battery life. Maybe 4-6 months in the high traffic areas and a year in the less busy areas. But the convenience of them being wireless and being able to go pretty much wherever I want them balances it for me. I don't expect them to be as good as the high end security cameras and for the price I'm quite happy with them.
