My galaxy s3 suddenly died after 3 years. I bought this phone because it was really inexpensive with the intention of getting a better phone in a couple months. I was blown away at how much I like this phone. The windows os is way better than I thought it would be and the phone runs great. Only cons are lack of some apps that android had and no front facing camera. But plan to keep using this phone a lot longer than I did when I first purchased it.

Good, but not great

I have a windows laptop so I was used to windows OS. The camera is not the best at all. The pictures are bad quality. They're aren't as many apps in the app store as Android or apple. This is my second one, after dropping it face first on a trip to new York. The screen completely shattered and of of course I got the insurance on it, but the best buy out there made me buy another insurance plan, which is an extra $5...anyways.
After everything was said and done I would say that the phone isn't that durable as everyone says. What I recommend is getting a screen protector and case asap.
Before you buy this phone do some research. Good for your first phone of one that you need asap. Oh and make sure you sign into your windows and outlook account or you will loose contacts if you already have an account.

This is my first Windows phone and I am extremely impressed with this phone and the Windows operating system. The price of this phone is great for such a good quality phone. The operating system is quick and responsive. The phone has a bright clear screen. I love Cortana! The volume on this phone is exceptional and I am able to stream and watch movies seamlessly. The Windows App store has all the apps I need but always a good idea to check it out beforehand to make sure it has the ones you need. The camera on this phone needs improvement but I wanted a quick phone that was highly responsive and had loads of storage and that is exactly what I got!! I have loads of apps and games and have still only used a little over half of my phone memory and very little of the memory on my storage card. I've had Android phones and while I like Google, I didn't like the way the Google apps and programs were forced on you and ate up all of your available memory and you couldn't delete them! Windows phone doesn't force apps on you which leaves me more than enough room for all the apps and games I want and need! Highly recommend!!!

I had this phone first, I found it to be easily configured, the fact that can have everything is on 1 screen is pretty awesome, not having to switch between screens is 1 leg up from any phone I've used. Windows did pretty good job with this model. The screen is large enough to enjoy watching videos, playing games or even watching a movie. I've found if the phone freezes there are 2 very quick solutions to fix, 1 is to press the Windows icon, which will take you to the home page or by pressing the on & off button twice 9 times out of 10 that works, when it doesn't shutting the phone down completely & turning it back on will do the trick. I would recommend this phone.

A Few Exceptions

Phone purchased for my son. He likes it with a few exceptions. One, the camera is not dual and two, he can't download certain apps that are associated with social media. Other than that, its ok until he's able to purchase what he wants and for the price, it was a great choice. This is his second one, because he dropped the first one down a storm drain. I would recommend only for basic use.

it is a great phone,
CONS: no one told me that I would not be able to transfer my googlestore stuff to my windows phone, and that there is no call recorder for a windows based phone...and that I can only post one pic at a time to facebook instead of a few (like I could do with my android)
Also, I can't find a flashlight app that I actually bright enough to see (with my android, I had one that worked thru the flash.)
PROS: looks like an apple phone, it is like a mini computer, and I totally love it. I can check my emails, it is easy to maneuver thru, and is exactly like my computer at home. There is an app where i can remote access my home computer and watch my puppy thru my computer's camera. I can move favorites to the main menu, it is easy to use, and it as a LOT of memory for a phone in this price range. You can also get really cool stuff that goes with this phone, for example I have a minion cover for my phone... I never get the cool phones.... now I get to be one of the cool kids. No one knows that I have an inexpensive phone with the case on it.
As for the issues that I am having as listed above.... I think it is only a matter of time before these problems are fixed.... after all, I have the cool, new phone...
please comment if you know of any solutions to my problems....

Love this phone, big screen and nice design.
Wish it had more internal memory, but with a micro sd I added 32g for storage. Using on Ring+ service without a problem.

This is the first cell phone that I have ever purchased. I purchased the windows version on purpose because of the upcoming Windows 10 upgrade. This phone is totally amazing. It has all the features of higher tech phones, in fact I feel this outshines the other phones. I was up and going in no time. The boost mobile service is priced to fit my needs. Love this phone.

This is a very nice looking phone and I am very pleased with using it. It was hard for me to change from a flip phone that I had for years. The only thing I don't like is how this type always gets so many fingerprints on the screen so need to clean often. Actually there are more apps on here then needed for myself! It is a little slippery to hold on to and get a good grip so as not to drop when in a hurry.

Title out of the way now, seriously, if you're a seasoned user of Android devices and like them for the variety and versatility of the many free apps, don't make the leap to a Windows phone. The apps that you're used to using or having certain features won't be available on the Windows app store. If you like Google Chrome on your mobile device, you won't find it on the app store. If you like using Google Maps, especially the "mostly flat" cycling routes they offer. That's not on Windows Phone. What also is not available on this particular model, the Nokia Lumia 635, specifically: There is no front facing camera, no ambient light sensor (for auto adjusting of screen brightness or disengaging the screen while on a call) and no flash.
What does this phone have? It has crystal clarity when using voice. The speaker is nice and bassy, you won't accuse anybody of sounding like they're in a tin can with this phone. This phone also has some sort of weird feature that detects if your cheek presses against a certain portion of the screen and it will disengage if properly hit. The downside of that feature is that, sometimes (and, for me, rarely), your hand can set this 'feature' off and you'll be looking at your reflection in the Gorilla Glass until you move your hand away. This phone does have Wifi capabilities, is 4G LTE compatible and only has 512MB of RAM. There is a 1GB RAM model but this one is NOT it. That being said, the phone is still quite snappy. The screen scrolling is buttery smooth though swiping left for the list of apps could be a bit more sensitive. Oh, and the touch screen is multi-touch capable up to 5 simultaneous points. If you'll ever need to use that many points at once... well... you might be an alien.... but you'll likely end up covering most of the screen if using all 5 points at once.
The Nokia Lumia 635 also packs Bluetooth which is probably standard fare for today's smartphones as most hands-free devices operate via Bluetooth. This does not mean that you'll be able to use it for mass file transfer wirelessly to your PC via Bluetooth. You can use it to send or receive a single file but it's probably best to fall back on OneDrive or Dropbox as you can use both cloud services with this device and it'll be much faster.
There are games on the Windows App store and some are even free. I haven't found any that necessarily caught my interest so I haven't played any. In my opinion, this phone is a great device for staying in touch with people. I just don't know how fun gaming on it would be.

The phone had all the features I required and certainly at a great price. I have to say that I was completely impressed and delighted by the look, features, price and the ease at activating and using this phone. I plan on replacing my AT&T phone with this one when the contract expires.

I have been using PDAs, Smartphones since always. The combination of Lumia phones and Windows has been a great idea. I really like the Lumia 635 but I still is missing few things to give it my high five. I could Iike a front camera same resolution as its back one at least and some settings like alarms and reminders with more options. In general it is a great phone.

This is my first time using a Windows based phone. The downside is that very few people have accessories for it or know how to support it. Personally, I don't devices that are difficult to use. This phone does not disappoint! It's easy to use, and the personal assistant, Cortana is incredible!

I was paranoid about getting a Windows phone but I needed a phone that was affordable to purchase with a reasonable plan...And that's what I got (plus an Electric Blue case). It's easy to use (I'm an electronic dunce) and the Music app makes walking to work more enjoyable.

The Lumia 635 is a decent option to consider if you're after 4G LTE on a budget. It's only marginally more expensive than its near-identical 3G-only Lumia 630 sibling, so you should certainly opt for the 635.

Love this phone for the price. It really does everything you NEED, without the price tag 10x more. It is not a super premium phone - I've recently had a couple of screen hangs, and the number of apps could improve, but I still like the phone quite a bit.

This camera didn't have a flash nor was it forward facing. I didn't like that because it was a windows phone I could not access many of the apps that I had previously become familiar with. If you want to sync your tablet, to your laptop, to your phone, then it would be a good fit for you. But if you are used to the android market then this phone would most likely NOT be for you.
