I wish I read reviews about this mount when I was at the store, because I can see why there's twice as many bad reviews than good ones. The reason I chose this product was because the 2 things I was looking for in a car mount, the vent clip and the wireless charging, seemed like they were in this mount. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The vent clip is not secure enough for my iPhone XR in my opinion. Once I start driving, the phone was flailing left and right and the whole clip just came off when I made a right turn :/ This mount comes with magnets to install to the back of the phone. But the magnets that came with this were not packaged right. Once I peeled the backing the glue came off, rendering it not usable. (Pics attached for reference). The one slightly positive thing I can say is that their customer support is ok, thru email that is. Don't try calling because you'll end up with a generic voicemail box, which by the way is very unprofessional for a company to have. I was actually confused when I called, I thought it was the wrong # for a sec! But like I said, when I emailed them I did get a reply within 24 hours. And they shipped new magnets right away. Once I got the magnets, I installed right away. Put my phone on the vent clip mount, but now it won't charge, no matter where I placed my phone on the mount. This is when I decided to give up on the wireless charging that I was hoping for, at least I had a vent clip mount with magnets, which at first seemed secure. But once I started driving is when I noticed the phone flailing around. Okay, so I decided to give the dash mount a try, even though I didn't want to install it there because in my car it puts the phone too close to the windshield and far from me. But I tried it anyway. Still no wireless charging, and when I drove around to see how the mount worked, it definitely seemed more secure than the vent clip mount, but like I said my phone is too close to the windshield, and uncomfortable to reach while I'm driving. Not to mention that now face ID won't work because of the placement. So at this point, nothing about this product is working for me. Very frustrating to say the least. I'm hoping that this review helps someone before they buy this product. Oh, another thing I forgot to mention, the app doesn't work on iOS.

The adhesive on the rubber isn’t strong enough. The iPhone XS Max is causing it to slide. Soon it will be unusable and I’ve not even had it a month.

Fell off my window within the first day...during my road trip (not ideal) ...repositioned it, followed instructions, and it fell again. had to use the vent clip, which was flimsy. And while the charging works, it takes a little too much finessing to line it up perfectly to trigger the charge. The worst of it all is the magnets...one it’s kinda ugly having to attach to magnet strips to your phone or phone case...two, it only took one use for the magnets to pull away and stick to the charging base instead. Just...nothing worked. Returned it.

    Worth the Money

We got this to go on vacation so I could see my phone and charge it at the same time. Pros: The magnets really do hold it and it stays put pretty well. Assists with the hands free thought process Charges phone quickly Cons: Mine sits in my vents and is wobbly. I have to continually tighten it and it is still a little too loose for how I'd like it. The magnet strips that come with it eventually fall off your case as the adhesive wears from pulling it on and off the charger. They can be glued back on, but still annoying. The magnet strips cannot be transferred from case to case so if you get a new case you have to figure out the magnets. You have to get your phone situated just right for it to charge. Overall, it does the job we bought it for and while the looseness on the vents is annoying (to me) it's less bothersome than having my vision impacted by putting it in the window. If they offered more magnetic strips or a case that worked with it it would be worth 5 stars. I had a magnetic case already and that did not hold so not just any magnet will work with it. I still use it daily though...it's worth the money.

Metal magnetic bars kept falling off my phone

I have a Galaxy S9. In order to use this you have to attach 2 metal strips to the back of your phone. They provide 2 sets: black and silver-ish. They also provide an alcohol wipe and a drying wipe. First, the alcohol wipe was completely dry when I opened the pack, so, useless. I used some isopropyl alcohol from my bathroom. The metal strips stuck fine to my phone at first. BUT, anytime I set it on this holder, the adhesive wouldn't hold and when I removed the phone from the holder at least one of the metal strips would remain magnetized to the surface of the holder. This happened with BOTH sets of the metal strips. This means that this $70 product winds up being useless. Now, the suction cup and mount portion of this seems to be very good quality. That's great, but if I can't get the bars to reliably stick to my phone, then the great suction cup and mount are useless. That's where I find myself. I'm leaving now to return it to BB. I have none of the original packaging, so I'm hoping they refund me.

Hi there, this is Kaleb with Bracketron. I'm sorry to hear you had a hard time with the charging mount. The root of the issue here may be that your alcohol wipe was dry when you received it. If you would have been able to clean off your device with our wipes, it would have removed all residue that could be blocking the adhesive between the phone and the magnetic strips. If you would like some assistance finding a mount that best suits your device / vehicle moving forward, please reach out to [email protected] and one of our representatives would be happy to help. The included rails you are instructed to place on the back of your device, stick strongly to the magnetic car mount, but aren't sticky enough to secure the phone whatsoever. My iPhone XS Max fell twice. I was really excited for this product, but it's just not going to work.

Hi! Sorry to hear the adhesive proved troublesome. If you have a phone case, may we inquire which one? Depending on the texture and material, this could contribute to the issue, but either way we would be happy to send you a fresh set of metal rails. Please email [email protected] and we will coordinate delivery. Thanks, Bracketron Support Bracketron

I was excited when I purchased this car mount. I have a iPhone 11 pro max with a semi thin case. I attached the adhesive to the back of my case, and at first I had no issues. over 4-5 weeks, the adhesive became week and kept falling off every time I detached the phone from the mount. This comes with a second adhesive so I attached it to the back of my phone and the didn't work at all. And you I don't know where you can buy more adhesives. As far as the wireless charging, I couldn't get it to work at all. I attached the adhesive where it says the best place to put it on but it didn't take. So I don't know what else I could do. As far as the mount, it's pretty strong and sturdy, That thing doesn't move so that's a plus. If you have a lighter phone and a thin case this might be for you but otherwise I would just take caution when buying.

I have had some issues that lowered the score from 5 to 3. 1.It charges very poorly, you might as well plug it in. 2. The Metal plates/strips that you get to put on the back of your phone, the adhesive lasts only a month or so, you would be better of buying some metal plates off of amazon. They havent come off in 5 months compared to the ones that came with the product.

Neither charging nor the magnetic bond worked thru my case. If you have a very thin case it might work. Adhesive for the dash mount was not strong enough, nor was the adhesive to keep the magnetic bars on the phone. Lovely concept, poor execution.

Hi there Brian, this is Kaleb with Bracketron. I'm sorry to hear that you've had some troubles with your mount. If you have a rather thick phone case such as an OtterBox Defender, it's likely that you will have to place the magnetic strips on the outside of the case in order for it to work. Easy to apply but some issues with one of the magnets sticking on. Comes with two sets of magnets though and easy to reapply. The mount has overheated on me and you have to line your phone up just right to get it to charge but works well and you learn where to place your phone.

I wanted to like this, but it was very finicky about actually charging my phone. The magnets would grab on and I’d be trying to slide the phone across to connect with the charging ring, but it was very hard to drag and half the time it would never connect. It’s astounding I didn’t have an accident because I was so distracted by trying to get it to work. So if you don’t use a case, this might be a solution for you, but otherwise I’d advise against it. I returned mine after 2 weeks.

So I have been looking for a quality wireless car charger for a while now. They all work well until you place any type of case on your phone, so when I came across this one I had to try it. Even with my lifeproof case on this still charges my phone no problems. The only issue that I have had are the metal bars that need to be placed on the phone to allow it to mount to the charger. The adhesive on them is not the best, and after just a short period of time the phone started falling off while the bars remained attached to the charger. After playing with a few different types of adhesive, I used superglue to glue the strips to my case. This seems to have resolved any issues with them falling off.

Vent clip repeatedly fell out - Charging worked

I purchased this to use in my car and decided to try the vent clip as I had a similar mount in my old car and the stickiness of the dashboard mount was extremely difficult to remove. The vent clip never stayed very well, causing it and my phone to repeatedly fall when making turns or bumping ever so slightly. I noticed after a couple days of use that the rubber piece inside where the vent clip attaches to the vent was peeling, which was causing the clip to fall out even moreso than before. When it did work, it charged my iPhone 11 Pro wirelessly as expected. I don't love the metal pieces you have to stick to the back of your phone or phone case, but it worked to allow it to charge. I'm not sure if there's a better option, but I was disappointed. If it weren't for the vent clip not staying, I'd probably be using this despite the metal strips added to my case being a bit ugly and cumbersome, but I plan to return this if I can make it into Best Buy.

I bought this mount with high hopes that this would be a great mount since it had magnetic attachment and wireless charging. The vent clip is awful and constantly needs to be retightened. If you have a heavier phone the vent clip won’t stay stable and jus removes all over the place while driving. The adhesive on the metal bars eventually came off and the extra bars they give you are fused to the backing paper so they were useless. Even when this stays mounted the wireless charging has to be in the perfect spot and takes a lot of moving around to find the right spot. This mount has basically rendered itself useless at this point after a couple months. What a waste of money...
