I am an IT consultant, and formerly the head of an IT department, so I have setup lots of printers of many different types. This model from Brother is an economical workhorse, and I expect it will be as durable as the many other Brother printers I have installed. I purchased this for a client because of the wireless networking and connectivity to mobile devices, and yes, I did finally get it all to work. But the documentation on the wireless network setup has to be the worst documentation of its type I have ever seen from any technology company. It takes you around in circles leading you nowhere, and what you have to do is actually very arcane and unusual. A typical user will not be able to get the wireless networking going without pulling in an IT expert. But after you are through the setup, it works great. So really my rating is that the printer is great, but wireles setup and documentation are terrible.

I love that it can print on both sides without having to flip the page! All in all, a well made printer. Setup was a little interesting, but the awesome people at Brother helped us with that. I'm glad we made the investment.

Works great without issues. Easy to follow instructions for setup. Very reliable. Prints fast.

Bought this printer after my friend recommended it. Easy, convenient, and don't have to worry about running out of ink quickly. Very good for the purpose of my usage.

I bought this printer for a second residence. I needed wifi capability, reliability, ability to print 20 to 30 page docs. Since it is for a second residence, ink jet was a not an option --- they dry out and we only do occasional printing. Installation and getting it to work with multiple devices was easy, have two iPads and a laptop all sending to it without issues (other than occasional hassles attachments to IPad emails printing).

Great print quality with some minor issues. If you have less than 1000 sheets paper, regular or printer paper it acts like there is no paper in the tray. kinda a joke.

Excellent, fast quality printer. Only problem is that when it goes to sleep it goes offline and we have to power off/on to restart.

This is a great printer. Dual printing. Wireless with airprint. Good quality and easy setup.

This was the first time I have purchased a Brother printer. The set up was easy and all of my computers, Apple laptop, Apple I Phone and Android mobile devices worked on first try.

Bought this to replace an HP office jet paper weight. I print pretty often and I’m still using the original toner cartridge that came with the printer. If you need basic b/w printing, you can count on this Brother. I will never fall for the HP printer ink scam again. All their printers eventually fail. This Brotjer is wireless and has not jammed since I purchased.

Needed a relatively inexpensive yet proven monochrome laser printer for a local event. This is the second one we've purchased this year. You'll notice almost right away that some parts - especially just about everything in the paper tray - are definitely built to meet the price point. Having set up the printer one way by meticulously following the instructions and another way by simply plugging into Windows AND Mac laptops (with a fast Internet connection) and letting them do the rest, I'd strongly recommend the latter approach. Once that's all done, the printer's performance is superb. Can't say anything yet about long-term reliability, but I'd be careful with the paper tray.

Works excellent and easy to set up. As far as my calculations go, this is the most cost effective way to print per page. It has no frills but I don't need any.

Most of my printing is done in black and white, so laser is the obvious choice to save money and this printer does that nicely. However, the only reason I bought this was my older Brother needed a new drum and it was cheaper to just buy a new printer. It's a complete waste to throw out a printer that works perfectly well so I hope Brother someday reduces the cost of a part that's designed to wear out.

I was having trouble with printers not printing from my Mac , this was an easy install. Only thing that's going to be a pain is buying the toner. Been printing quite a bit and still have packaged toner left.

Incredibly easy setup--within 30 minutes I was printing from a computer or iPad! Solid printer for routine black and white printing.

Works as it should, no complaints! Takes a bit to warm up but prints quickly once it begins and double sided printing is great.

I have always bought HP printers but they would always die on me...so opted to try a Brother printer and so far no regrets. Best printer Ive had, easy to set up and use.

Easy set up either wireless or wired. Fast printing and takes up very little desk space.
