only owned for a couple months but it has performed reliably and even if the ink doesn't last as long as they claim, the replacement ink is less than others.

We have a Canon printer and were spending about $70 a month on ink. We print a lot of photos and photo greeting cards, and we were really trying to find a solution to ink cost. While this printer is a little pricey, it will pay for itself in the money it saves on ink. Does an excellent job on photos and text. Haven't used it on graphics yet. Would definitely recommend.

Bought this to replace an EPSON that died. It sounded good according to the reviews. It prints fast enough for me and the printouts look very good. It is very easy to change the ink cartridges, which is good because it just stops printing when it is out of ink after letting you know it's getting low way well in advance. The only things I have problems with are I have trouble feeding sheets in the back single sheet feeder, and it doesn't hold a lot of paper in the tray.

I bought this printer as a replacement for a 'hunk of junk' Epson printer which I returned to Best Buy the day after I bought it. I bought the Epson as a replacement for a Brother printer which finally died after several years sterling service and I have not been disappointed. The print quality is crisp and clear, it is quiet and relatively quick in operation. I print a lot of single sheets on heavy card stock for my business and I have never had a problem with sheets jamming, or poor quality printing.

the printer itself has help me print about 200 pages of school work in the matter of minutes. This device is a life saver for any college student that needs to print out assignments and essays.

Easy to setup and use. Small in size, for a MFP, but works better than any other printer we’ve had

    Printer solid, software very poor

I've had the printer 2 days. Most of that time I've spent configuring the software to use the scanning functionality. Initially, the printer configuration went well. Even before I installed any printer drivers, I was able to print to it from multiple devices in my house (Windows PC's and Android) via WiFi. But scanning would not work without software installation. I have a Windows 10 PC. The basic 'Control Center 4' software needed for receiving scans does not work, period. I reinstalled it from the web rather than the CD, still no luck. I disabled all firewalls and security software too. Using the "Brother Utilities, " if you know what you are doing, you can reconfigure the scanner to use different, native windows scanner software rather than Control Center 4. This provides most functionality, but not OCR. In fact, when I was on tech support with brother, the support person told me that OCR doesn't work with CC4 either, and you have to install the optional 'PaperPort' software for that to work, even though that isn't specified when installing the software. And then "PaperPort" itself is unstable, with it's "Scanner Setup Wizard" locking up. After some backflips to get that to unfreeze, I was able to configure the scanner (a 1 time thing) to work and it now works well. But immediately after that, I couldn't print to the printer from the PC with PaperPort on it, even though I could print from my Android! I rebooted everything and it all seemed to come back. So it seems to be stable at the moment. At this point, I could not recommend to a friend that they put themselves through this, except that every printer I have owned lately has very poor software, so maybe they are all like this these days. Just way too much effort. If the printer remains stable and we get a lot of prints on the ink cartridges, and the scars of the past two days fade, maybe I would up this to a 4 star review. But if, like previous printers from other manufacturers, it develops communication problems and won't print, it would go down to 2 or 1. Printing and Scanning should not be this hard.

I purchased this to replace an Epson All-In-One Printer after it failed. I'm not into printing photos and wanted a printer that didn't eat up ink and a scanner. So far, the Brother seems to be meeting my needs and is using considerably less ink than other printers. Time will tell if it outlasts previous all in one printers I've owned.

I wasn't looking for this printer but was convinced to try it out by the salesman. Brother has a good reputation too. At first the print quality was terrible and I had to call Brother customer service and do a bunch of stuff to the printer to get it to print normal. Now it works pretty well. I've only had it for a month so can't provide full report on ink use and more. Overall so far I would say this is a pretty good printer.

I've always used HP printers but when my last one died after only owning it for a year and a half I decided to try another brand. I always heard really good things about Brother printers so I gave this one a try and I am real happy I did. In my opinion this printer handles and performs a lot better than all my previous HP printers hands down. I highly recommend this printer especially when it comes with another 2 years worth of ink.

As was mentioned in the on-line reviews, it's not a quiet printer, but it is fast. Used the scanning feature for the first time yesterday, and as with any longer than 8-1/2x11 document, I had to adjust a bit to ensure all the important info was included. Very happy with the print quality of documents and clip art. Have not attempted photos as yet. For the price, a good investment for me.

I bought this printer after reading several reviews. It is living up to its expectations, an affordable printer with a relatively low per page ink cost. The screen is a bit hard to read, but it is passable. It took awhile to set up the software on 2 of our laptops, I had to use the URL of the printer for my laptop to locate it, but after inputting the URL, it recognized it. Good value.

Really disappointed in the ink usage of my previous printer (Canon) so I spent a lot of time looking for one that was easy on the ink as well as highly rated. This printer is both - ink is lasting much longer than the Canon, and the quality of the prints is really good. I like that it duplex prints. It took a while for it to stay connected to my network, but that issue appears to be over. All in all a good buy!
