I am in the hospitality industry the radios are reliable and can take a beating. I like the upgraded feature which allows you to charge the radios in the same manner as your phones using USB capability. My hotel is 20 floors high so the only down side is should someone in the line of sight use there radio it runs some interference when higher up

I bought this radio for events in a convention center, the place have four levels and I could hear clearly. I was able to communicate with other frends who had radios of other brands. I used the radio for 10 hours and the battery worked fine. The design of the radio is perfect to carry it in the belt of the pants.

These work very well. We even tested them as to one person drove a car about 2miles while the other person stayed home. Amazingly they still worked and could hear each other clearly. Love them.

I bought these to use in a couple of off road groups I belong to. They are very clear and I can understand what others are saying. Much better then the old cb radio I was using. I can not saying anything about the range because we are always within a few hundred yards of each other. I would buy these again.

Fun to use, clear speech pattern, but the city-range is less than expected.

I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the radio. The radio is capable of a maximum of 25 miles under ideal conditions. Range can vary greatly depending on terrain (i.e., city vs. open areas), obstructions, interference, and battery level. Thank you for your feedback. cedarelectronics-cobra

These Cobra two-way radios have a good range, but don't expect the 23 miles as stated. No two-way radios for this price range are going to give you that unless you have no buildings or obstacles between them. They are good quality and sufficient for our needs, but I didn't give it five stars because when you talk to each other you have to have the volume up really high to hear the other person. The call sound is really loud, but the person you are talking to is not real loud. We tried different features to see if we could get it to sound better, but nothing worked. So for just around town and normal use, they are overall good.

These two way radios work excellent I use for bike riding to wake communication. When we go to the park we used to keep in communication with each other. They work excellent. You can also check the weather reports with them. We use the voice activated transmissions free up hands for other tasks.

Like the summary says... hello can you hear me is what I was asking my wife when we were traveling. Bought these to keep in touch while we had to drive cross country in two vehicles. If I could see her and she was no more then 100 yards away we could talk. But if she got further ahead or behind me we could not talk at all. Line of sight would be great but we still couldn't talk. When we could talk they were perfect and I have nothing but good to say about that. Can't use it while it's charging on the car charger. It will turn off and you wouldn't even know it. Haven't tested them on any hikes yet but. I plan on trying to see how well they will work then.

These walkie talkies are very sturdy and generally easy to set up. Charges with a USB cord. Great range. I bought them to use at home, because it is a big house and these seemed easier to use than the intercom. However, I live very close to an Interstate and the sets pick up interference from truckers from time to time, even with the privacy settings. It could be that I may need to play around more with the settings to avoid this interference.

As I have not had them for very long, only a 4 star. However, after using them only a few hours, not really impressed. Main issue is kind of complicated instructions and not that great of reception over a short distance. Had a lot of what I term squelch issues. Old radio had a squelch knob but haven't spent a lot of time checking these out. Maybe with diligent studying of the instructions, I may have a better review report later on after use. Will update if I need to change my star rating. Not crazy about checking the yes or no button, but 'maybe' not a choice.

We bought these radios to communicate between two cars on a cross-country move. Although the box says they're rated for 23 miles, we couldn't hear them beyond about 1 mile. Fortunately, we didn't actually expect them to work that far out, nor did we need them to. They do have a good quality signal and don't seem to get as much interference as others we've used. We use them around our property (20 acres), and they work within a half mile or so, due to the dense trees. So far, the batteries do last a good long time, but I wish they came with a USB-AC adapter, so we didn't have to charge it via the computer.

Great range, easy to use. My only issue I have found is the need to hold the talk button for a longer than expected amount of time before talking or the other person heard nothing.

Bought these for use on a cruise to communicate with others in our group. They worked great. My only complaint was that they don't have a squelch control on them so they were constantly picking up signal from outside of the area we were interested in. Big plus was the USB charging with the split cable. A lot less room in our luggage than having to take a charging base with AC adapter.

I am in a driving group where we “caravan” up to 20 cars in a row as we drive through twisty roads of the Blue Ridge and Appalachia. We all have purchased radios so we can communicate and no one gets lost. These radios work great, when cell phones wouldn’t serve the need. Price was excellent. Suggest you buy before they become obsolete.
