Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the RMx Series 850W power supply's ample power, modular design, and quiet operation. Many appreciate the high-quality components and easy installation. While some users reported an audible coil whine, the majority found the unit to run cool and efficiently. The positive feedback on quality and ease of use outweighs the relatively few negative comments.

Excellent unit. One of the best +Gold power supplies. This is also the 2018 version which according to a lot of reviews and threads is better than the new 2021 version (which you can tell by its all-black labeling), mostly due to the fan being quieter and more dependable, and the 2018 version containing more cables.

Very nice PSU that's sleek and cool. Love the full modularity of the cabling and the zero sound from the fan. As long as it continues to function properly and provide consistent, clean power to my components, I will be pleased. It would be kind of cool if it could interface with the Corsair LINK software like my H80i V2 so I could see the power load, temps, and fans speed. Maybe on a future version Corsair?

I bought this power supply for a new PC I am building. It seems like the prices of many computer parts have gone up recently, and this unit was a little pricey. However, it seems to be high quality, and the modular cables made it very easy to install in my computer case. It's probably overkill for what I really need, but I wanted to have plenty of power since some of the new graphics cards coming out in 2020 use 300-400 watts.

There isn't too much to say about Corsair power supplies other than that they are a reliable brand who continues to do well in the PSU space. This PSU is performing at or above efficiency spec and powering an AMD 3600 with a 3080 FE without issue. Also included multiple of all necessary cables, including 2 6+2 pin GPU cables.

I’ve owned one of these Corsair RMx power supplies (2018 model) prior to purchasing this one which was for my server I built a couple years ago. That one is still going strong and this one has given me no issues this far which is all you can really ask for from a power supply. The modular nature makes it a breeze to build with and it doesn’t make any excess noise.

High quality, quiet, and efficient power supply. Not a big gamer but went for 850 watts to cover future GPU consumption requirements. Full modular system keeps cabling fairly tidy. There is also a Corsair 12 pin PCIe cable adapter that can be used with this power supply and the current Nvidia Founder Edition cards. It's not required but it looks better than the adapter that comes with the GPU.

With the release of RTX3000 series and Radeon 6000 series GPUs, many consumers are looking to upgrade their PSU to meet the power requirements of next-gen cards. Corsair has them covered with this solid unit that I cannot praise enough. First, I will say for such large wattage, the actual unit itself is quite small, allowing it to fit in some small form factor ATX cases. However, the same cannot be said for the cables. They are fairly stiff even though they are sleeved. This made for rough installation, even requiring a hard drive tray to be removed in an especially small case (Corsair 220t). As for performance, what you see is what you get. Dead silent, even under load, and excellent power delivery. I'm very wary of cheap PSUs (I've had three literally explode on me) and firmly believe that the expensive GOLD or PLATINUM units are well worth your investment as they will last well beyond your current build. The 10-year warranty is just the icing on the cake. My only suggestion would be to wait until prices have settled down to normal and spend the additional money you would have spent on some third-party cables to reduce clutter and improve ease of installation. Note: the included cable carrying case is way too big for all the unused cables, which is actually fantastic as it can double as a "computer bag" holding a screwdriver kit and whatever small hardware you might need for upgrades or repairs.

This is a solid power supply. I used it in a recent build and I’ve been very happy. I never used a modular unit before but the instructions made it very easy to make all the connections. Corsair makes quality components and this unit is one of them. The fan position works extremely well in the Corsair case I also purchased for the built. Great price and plenty of power to spare.

this is a high watt power supply, but it is so quiet. in my home theater pc, my old power supply (psu) was so loud, and watching a movie was bothersome because the psu was so much louder than the movie and music audio. this psu is so quiet when the computer is not needing to perform maximal processing, so now i can have a high quality movie and music experience. i also think my electricity costs will go down.

My last build was in 2012. So I thought I'd build again. I tried using an old power supply but as soon as I powered on my new build, I smelled burnt electronics so I immediately powered off. After posting a question online, I was told to replace the power supply. Went to BB and got this, the Corsair RM850x. A lot has changed since 2012. The cables, instead of looking like tentacles hanging out of the power supply, are now pluggable. I get to choose and pick only the cables I need, resulting in a cleaner internal PC case and better airflow. The cables I don't need go into a black, Velcro-lined bag that comes with the power supply. The 80 Plus Gold rating should also make my energy usage more efficient.

Great Power Supply. I have only had it for a few months but it has been rock solid so far and I expect it to be for many years to come. It is well made; a great quality unit. It is quiet and looks great. I love this power supply. It even comes with really nice looking, well made, storage bag to hold all the modular power cables that you are not using in your system.

Does what it says it does. Low noise, good quality caps, totally modular. The only downside to these are capacitors on the end of the cable. Makes routing cables harder than it needs to be.

Almost completely modular. Totally silent operation during low use. 850w is the sweet spot for 2020. The ATX power cable is long enough for a full size ATX case. The fan on this power supply doesn't even turn unless the system draws more than 350w and that alone makes this power supply perfect for almost any modern 2020 PC. Economy and Power in one package for a great price.

I had a evga power supply with my msi z390 pro carbon and the fan kept running loud over top of my case fans. I only owned the evga for 1 year and the fan went bad. With the corsair absolutely no fan noise and check the filter a few days ago and it's still clean. Overall cant go wrong with corsair.and the cables are so nice I'm keeping them instead of replacing them with cablemods.
