Too many issues for high priced PC

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have ordered and received the PC on 04/28. The packing was excellent. The issue started after connecting the power and turn on the system. The fan noise is too loud even while starting up the PC or wake up from sleep mode. There were 2 times the system was shut down with Windows 8 whea unrecoverable errors. I am spending too much time with Cybertonpc support to trying to find out the fan noise, windows error etc. They have asked to open the panel to check the fan wires etc or sending a fan replacement for the PC purchased as brand new. If this system is having parts issue within one day of purchase, i am really doubt that the product will work for many years. I am really disappointed with fan noise issue, windows 8 whea unrecoverable error etc. for this high priced desktop. Please be sure that you have enough time allocated on your side to work with support before purchasing this gaming desktop PC. I will returning the system to Best buy this week.

      Selva,
Thank you for your choice of a Minotaur Max II. We sincerely apologize for the fan noise and Windows errors you experienced.

While we do perform extensive testing on each system we build, there are those times when an issue may appear for the first time only after being packaged and shipped from our factory.

Based on the description of the issues we would initially suspect shipping damage, even though you describe the packing as being in excellent condition. While we do indeed take great care with our packaging, there are times that any packaging is simply not going to be able to withstand the rigors of shipping.

Because there was apparently a lack of external damage to the box, it seems probable to us that the system had one or more “flat drops”. This is when the system is dropped or thrown so that it lands flat on one of the sides. While this does not cause damage to the outside of the packaging, the forces are transferred to the contents of the package. A close analogy would be a sudden stop, without collision, of a fast-moving car. Although the car is undamaged externally, things can get jarred and/or thrown around the interior, if there is enough force from the stop.

This could explain both the fan noise and the windows errors; the former perhaps being due to a wire that shifted into the path of a fan blade or a fan that was damaged, and the latter possibly caused by loose memory or hard drive damage.

Regardless of their causes, we regret the issues you experienced, and are grateful to you for allowing us the opportunity to prove our product quality and our commitment to customer satisfaction to you, by exchanging the system.

We are confident that the replacement will be all that you expected from the Minotaur Max II!
