    No good for security

    I bought this for my home security. It is for the just incase something happens. It does record 4 cameras and is easy to put somewhere a thief would not find it in a hurry. The problem is it keeps dropping the framerate on all the cameras to 10 frames per second and setting the quality to 1 Megabyte. For security that is useless. You would be lucky to get a clean shot of someone's face. No matter what I did it kept resetting all my D-Link cameras to their lowest settings. If you want to catch the kids doing something this is fine, but for security it totally sucks! For a home security the cameras are good when set to max but for recording it is useless.

Please note you can adjust the frame rate of each camera by logging into the DNR-202L's web interface and clicking on Audio and Video under the Setup tab. Also keep in mind that If the frame rate or bit rate is too low, check the network configuration between your cameras and NVR. If the bit rate is too high, it will cause the live video display to slow down or lag. You should modify the quality or bit rate setting in the camera web GUI accordingly.     I had troubles installing my DNR 202L and called in to the help desk of DLink for support. Henry was very patient and helped me get connected, adjust my recording setup, and was an overall saint in getting me connected. This was case number C6755288. Tech ID - AR004273.

    I had Best Buy Support, Aldy ID# AR 004246, go thru the functions of the recorder. It works well no problems. I have it attached to a Seagate 4 TB external drive.t

    I use this device with a wireless 932L camera. Was easy to set up. Manual not that great. Customer service worse. I use the camera's motion detect feature to trigger the 202L. Works great except the 202L will go off line for no reason, or unmounts the HDD drive, or starts beeping and blinks the bright blue light which would delight any burglar. Also under the status page, the are camera notations like "ALERT" which is not documented in the manual. Will return this item today and try the more expensive version 322L, maybe not???

    Trouble getting my cameras to link

    Still trying to get my cameras to link with this device. Need to start from scratch again and hope it works. Otherwise, I just spent $100 for nothing!!! Fingers crossed and hoping it works! Not happy about the reviewers saying it sets the cameras back to an extremely low resolution. If that is the case then it is worthless!!

    Web interface constantly freezes

    Web interface constantly freezes when trying to configure. I factory reset it and it remembered my Password and port setting. This confused me for a while trying to access it by ip after the reset. Overall it's unusable for me. I think i'll look into a Qnap system. I would recommend this to an enemy.

    Not great for Mac users

    Mac computers, Safari supported, make it very difficult to get online to use the online tools like watching pre recorded video. I hope they work out the kinks so I can use without a hassle

    DNR-202L not detecting cameras...

    I had an issue with DNR-202L not detecting 3 wifi cameras (2 - DCS-2330L and 1 - DCS - 2132L). Chris in customer support helped upgrade FW and assisted in getting cameras on-line. Very please with level of service received and how fast issue was resolved. Badge #Ar004301 Case # C6542196

    I had an issue getting the dlink cameras to connect to the DNR 202l. I called there tech support line and was assisted by Chris who got me up and running in short order.
