This is my first Dark Souls game and I absolutely hating it the first 2 days playing it. Then the game mechanics started to make sense. The seemingly over-powered enemies started to make sense and most importantly... the Dark Souls world started to make sense. This is now one of my most favorite titles in my PS4 library. The only negative for me was DS3 uses it's lore to tell the story/stories more than a direct narrative approach. Aside from this minor caveat (which is strictly based on my own personal preference), I thoroughly enjoyed playing Dark Souls 3.

Dark Souls 3 is, for the most part everything you've come to expect from the Souls series, and that's part of the problem for me. This game has great level design, and great enemy and boss designs. Controls and combat are excellent. Multiplayer is still both unique and fun. However, there's very little that feels truly new here. There are now weapon arts, which are special abilities tied to each weapon. However, for the most part, I didn't find these abilities particularly useful, and they really just don't add much to the experience. Other than that, it really does just feel like more Dark Souls, for better or worse. If that's all you want from Dark Souls 3, you'll love this game. If however, like me, you've been playing these games since Demon's Souls, and were hoping that this game could be both familiar and fresh (ala last year's excellent Bloodborne), you might be a bit disappointed to find that this is easily the most derivative Souls game to date. That doesn't make it bad by any means, just less memorable and less compelling than it's incredible predecessors.

If you have played the recent Dark Souls Games you won't be disappointed with this one. It's even more challenging, especially with the permadeath option. Graphics are amazing on console, the controls are great. Story is a little confusing, but it has always been like this with all the series. Truly recomend this masterpiece to any hardcore gamer, but then again if you really think you are hardcore, you must have already bought this game.

If you want a game that is fun to play and is extremely challenging, then this is it. Prepare to be frustrated but don't give up! This game gives you a sense of satisfaction when you beat a difficult boss. Has a lot of replay value. Overall a great game!

From brings us another masterpiece in the Souls series. The game is definitely not for everyone, as it can be brutally difficult but rarely feels cheap. If you die it's probably your own fault. But every challenge that is overcome is accompanied with a great feeling of accomplishment, like maybe you're getting the hang of this and it's not so bad anymore. Then you go to the next area and are promptly put right back into your place! They say this is the last, but I hope they make more.

A much improved overall game experience from DS2 in most areas, but some things DS2 still does better. The combat is so much smoother than it's prequels but not quite Bloodborne. Due to improved combat it's the first Dark Souls game I actually enjoyed PvPing.
The initial areas will be casual friendly then the difficulty will rise along with other obstacles such as random PvP invasions if undead or hallow. Getting enemy item and equipment drops have improved and makes farming more enjoyable. Bosses are still tough in the later stages and upgrading equipment can be a grind if not boss coop soul farming in New Game.
This was the sequel fans deserved and didn't disappoint on next gen consoles graphically. Framerate drops to unplayable will still occur especially during cooping online sessions. Also, respecing is limited to 5 per avatar.
I played coop with two people who didn't like Dark Souls, didn't play DS2 and or Bloodborne but really enjoyed DS3. Overall, this is a great game and shouldn't be missed out on.

I've played this series since the beginning and this is by far the best one. True to the Dark Souls franchise, be prepared for a challenge. Although there is a leveling system, grinding for hours isn't going to make certain parts easier. The weapon and armor class really allows for unique customization of your character. This isn't your typical game where you are just looking for the best weapon or armor, each piece of equipment comes with trade-offs, making this exceptionally challenging and realistic. The subtle integration of online features is done well, where there is no need to commit a lot of time to online play but can easily join others when interested. Highly recommend to anyone looking to challenge their gaming skills, though the casual gamer may find this game frustrating at times.

DS3 is one of the best games released thus far in 2016. I've never liked a Souls game before (including Demon Souls) because the combat was too clunky, but I loved Bloodborne due to the crisp, fluidness of combat. DS3 is the best of both worlds: an improvement on Bloodborne's stellar combat mixed with Souls' RPG elements.

Absolutely amazing. Started playing the souls series with Dark Souls and I've loved each edition of the game. With so many let down games lately it is nice to have a game that keeps to its roots, improves, and gits gud. Everything you love about souls is here. The challenging and rewarding combat, the excellent multiplayer (though I still have not fully explored it), the awesome level designs, the great and variety of boss battles and enemies, the lore and expansion of the universe, and on and on. FromSoft did it again and it is GUD!

This game is not for the rage quitter. If you thought dying from dysentery in Oregon Trail was bad you haven't seen anything yet. Dragons Shoot fireballs at your face, treasure chests attack all willy nilly, other people wait patiently around the corner to stab you in the kneecaps. This is some Real World sh**. That being said this is one of the most satisfying games I have ever played. You have to be patient, learn your opponents flaws and fighting patterns and wait for your time to strike. Beating a boss makes you feel like Leo on the Titantic. Not ice pop North Atlantic Lee... I'm talkin' about that I'm the king of the world Leo.

If you've played any of the Souls series before, you know what you're getting here. Some of the intricacies change with each release, but for the most part, the Souls series is exactly what it is and has been. Now in my opinion, that's a wonderful thing. I've been playing since before the days of the NES and never before have I played a series so engrossing. A lot of emphasis is put on the challenge and it certainly is that, but the draw for me has always been the level design, the focus on exploration and the adrenaline rush of combat. If this is indeed the final game in the series (please say it isn't so), it's going out with a bang.

Most Souls veterans will know what I'm about to say. This game is challenging, it can be frustrating, and I have definitely put my controller down for the night in anger. But I always come back, because there is something both rewarding and pure about the experience. There is no tutorial mission. There is no map. There is no-one to hold your hand, but that also means that there is no-one to cheapen your accomplishment. Namco Bandi says Get Ready to Die. I say bring it on

This was the first in the series where I really tried to co op with my sister. From Software is pretty infamous for having wonky co op. There are threads all over the internet on how to do it. It's just so weird. Adding passwords, restricting summon signs, hard reseting, taking off all your equips. It's rediculous. Besides that, the game is fluid. The mechanics are still great. The visuals are beautiful. The story is a lot more straight foward, but there is still a lot of stuff you can miss. All in all its a solid title. Just wish you could drop in drop out like other games.

FromSoftware has done it again with Dark Souls 3.
Using the same engine as Bloodborne and the same imagination and craftsmanship for gameplay as always, this game mixes the best from all of the past titles, including some references here and there too.
Gameplaywise is the best Dark Souls, the story and the levels are on par with the first one. If you are a fan of the series you won't be disappointed, and if you are new to it, why not trying it out?
And as always, keep on praising the sun!

Dark Souls 3 is the first "souls" game I have completed. My first from software game was Bloodborne. Bloodborne for me was 2015's GOTY, I invested over 500 hours into it's wonderful fast paced combat and lovecraftian atmosphere. I read an article that stated the upcoming Dark souls 3 would incorporate a lot of Bloodbornes mechanics, such as faster pace. I decided to pre order and have recently beaten the game. The game overall was a satisfactory experience that took me through times of frustration and absolute joy. I put about 48 hrs of playtime into DS3 and can say with confidence that even without having played DS1 or DS2, I still found the game interesting and understood most of the vague story the game put in front of me. Must buy if you've played any of the other Dark Souls games, and a wait for sale if you enjoyed Bloodborne or are new to the series.

Dark Souls 3 is a great way to end this great franchise. Dark Sousl 3 has great graphics, great gameplay and a great lore. The armours and weapons are great but sadly, the frame right frequently drops and the camera is annoying when your're fighting a fast enemy or boss. The setting and timeline in Dark Souls are great. There are a lot of convenants that you can. There are 8 convenants like Warriors of Sunlight, the Blue Sentinals and more. The multiplayer is fun and balanced.

Dark Souls 3 is a great addition to the line of Dark / Demon Soul games. You have the ability to bring friends along on your battles and invasions (going into other players games for PvP) is enjoyable. Class mechanics can use some work for casters vs melee in terms of PvP but overall this game delivers. Graphics are eye candy, controls are stellar and story line is great as with just about the whole series. Don't delay, get this game today!
