this computer is off the charts amazing. I've had it for about a month now, it I have no problems at all. The amazing and fast i7 processor will never get too slow, and the Intel hd graphics have nice vibrant colours, compared to my old ugly acer aspire. It is full aluminum and it has backlit keyboard. The backlit keyboard looks bliss in the dark! The touchscreen is very responsive and the touchpad is well rounded. Although a bit noisy. But no biggy. This says that it runs on win8, but it actually comes with win8.1. So that's good. The led indicators are white and not too annoying. It it solid white when charging, and a flashing white for running components, and sometimes, when you have critical battery, it lights up orange. It has 4 USB ports, all 3.0, and 2 of them are super speed. The computer fan can be a bit loud at times, so that's a downside. But a recommendation to dell is to make the letters on the keyboard more visible in the light.1tb hard drive is more than enough for me and should be for you too, unless you are an extreme downloaded, or photo editor. And the 8gb ram is pretty good, but I prefer the 16gb one.

I am happy with this buy. This particular model is only available at Best buy and it is best combination of hardware and software features that I am looking for. i7 processor, 8GB Ram and Touchscreen are most important features that I am looking for, and this one comes with all these features and with a gorgeous display and look with in my budget.

I just wanted a basic laptop for office applications and to be able to use DRAGON software. This seemed to have enough umph to use dragon (but I have not tried it yet). Windows 8 is hard to get used to but the touchscreen makes it a little less painful. I'd buy it again. sleek design.

Love the back lit keyboard, doesn't over heat too quickly. pretty quiet key strokes. touch screen rocks. only draw back, i wanted the disk drive, however if i choose to really NEED one, i can purchase an external one

I'm really happy with this laptop. I use it mainly for using the adobe suite and it runs the programs smoothly. The speakers of this laptop have a good sound and are louder than other laptops I've had or looked at. Great laptop overall

I use this laptop everyday for work. It is fast and built solid. The only thing negative about it is the weight. Since it's fairly thin, it appears light until you pick it up.

Screen resolution is great. A bit on the heavy side but manageable. Would recommend to others.

I've got to say that I've been quite impressed with the quality and performance of this computer. The set up was a breeze, and using the touchscreen is just surprised. I thought I would never use a PC again but this purchase has far and away allowed me to do things wasn't able to do with the one that it replaced. Great product from Dell and a great value from Best Buy.

I bought the machine primarily for internet communication, managing digital images and for investment research and management. It is a very fast machine. Internet loads very fast. I was concerned that it only had 8GB and no separate video processor. But I have not been disappointed. Everything works great! This is a Core I7 chip. Great machine for the price. Very pleased with performance so far. Geek squad loaded Windows 8.1 also antivirus software. They did a great job. I decided to try Microsoft's annual license for the entire suite of 2013 Office products. So far they are functioning as advertised. Great machine to access all the investment research I need on the net.

After scouting out a wide range of brand options, I made the decision to purchase this Dell system based on the overall value and quality perception of previous purchasers. So far, I've been using the unit for almost 4 weeks and it hasn't disappointed as yet. Build quality and finish are high - system is sleek, light for the size and the Core i7 flat out kicks butt when I run statistical analytics for my investment portfolio management programs, as well as watching Netflix or streaming music from SoundCloud. High res screen displays sharp colors, though I am not a huge fan of the high gloss glass. The only area that could be improved is the keyboard - personally, it is taking a little while for me to get used to the feel of it's Chiclet keyboard, as the layout is slightly different from the notebooks I've used previously. Overall, this is a very good product that I I am very satisfied with.

This is a great laptop. The Aluminum Construction gives it a nice, solid feel. The Core i7 Processor is agile and transferring files with USB 3.0 is like switching from Dial Up to Broadband.

This is a great little machine. I badly needed a new laptop and went online to look at different brands. I've had Dells a lot since starting computing and find them reliable, well made, with good service. This one is no different .LOTS of ports, but NO CD ROM DRIVE of any kind. It's a fast chip so the computer processes at a good clip. It's sleek, easy to transport, comes with wi-fi. i Highly recommend this machine if you're looking for a powerful laptop be it for home, business use or some blend.

I have a love/hate with Windows 8. It's really fun and does lots of cool things but it took WEEKS to get it set up and working semi-properly with new software and settings. I love Windows 8 but it has been a NIGHTMARE getting it to work right. It's easy to set up...until you want to change a setting and that's where all the problems start. First of all, the settings are buried, sometimes so far down a rabbit hole that you're into the bowels of your computer - not where I ever want to be. I had endless problems with getting my email accounts working properly. It's not like I wanted anything exotic: I just wanted to use Outlook and have both my work and personal email and calendars under MY control - not Microsoft. Finally gave up trying to get them to work the way I wanted them to work and decided to capitulate and manage my email and calendars the way Microsoft wanted me to. I'll adjust...not like I have a choice. The Geek Squad was basically useless - they had no idea how to configure anything so I had to figure out most everything myself. It you want a simple, led-by-the-nose computer set up then Windows 8 is the way to go. But forget about having much ability to change settings.

I am a Mac person but needed the PC for some PC only programs. I decided on this computer due to price, size and the Dell name. It was a bit difficult to figure out the Windows 8.1 but once I did, it was smooth sailing! I also bought the Office suite so I can use the computer while on business trips. I did use it and it worked very well using the HDMI cord connected to the projector. I am impressed with the clarity of the screen and overall impressed with the computer. The computer came with a free virus program and I downloaded it. A week later I bought Norton's and deleted the free one! I had so many ads that popped up when I was surfing that I couldn't see the page I was searching for. After the delete, no more ads. I also deleted unnecessary programs. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

This is a great laptop with a good touchscreen. I am still getting use to Windows 8, but the computer is fast. I had an issue the second day, it would not boot. I had to do a system restore, which took a couple hours, but it has been fine ever since. I like the fact that the computer took care of the restore for me. Answered a few questions and it fixed itself.

This is a good basic computer to have. It has good performance, the keys and mouse pad respond well and the touch monitor is really nice. Wouldn't ever get one without it for Windows 8. If you are going to do heavier processing, you should upgrade but for the basic daily office tasks, its a keeper.
