Would be better without the BSOD...

I purchased this Inspiron laptop from my local Best Buy at the urging of one of the sales reps who insisted it was the best deal for the money and would function beautifully. Well, since then I have encountered a Blue Screen of Death around once a day when I use it and it often has trouble coming out of sleep mode. Web browsing is often alarmingly slow as well. I love the size, the weight, touchscreen, etc., but I think Windows 10 might be too much for this thing to handle it it's constantly getting BSOD's because of it. Whether that is the cause or not I don't know, but it's very frustrating, and I believe Best Buy will not touch it - it would have to go back to Dell.

Great school computer!

Bought this computer to replace an older one and I love it! The battery life is amazing and it boots in mere seconds. Great little computer for school because it has the keyboard for typing easily when I need to, but the conversion to tablet mode is easy and smooth when I just want to play solitaire or watch a movie online. The keyboard is a little small if you have big hands, but as an average female it works great for me. I use it for school, but it also travels well! Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I have had internet connectivity issues and have to reinstall the wireless driver occasionally, but I think this is more of a Windows 10 issue than something related to this model. I definitely recommend it as a great little computer at a good price point. My sister-in-law liked mine so much she went out and got her own!

Pros: Lightweight, screen quality is good, touch screen is user friendly, simple and good for word processing and Internet.
Cons: Very slow for having 8gb of RAM, battery life is sub-par (approximately 3-4hrs) and for some reason it freezes often and needs to be rebooted; my Bluetooth printer needs to be reinstalled every time I need to print and I've never had that problem with 4 other computers.
All-in-all I'd recommend it for someone who needs a basic computer for simple stuff.

Not sure if this is an issue with Windows 10, but I've had this laptop for 5 days now and I've suffered through numerous registry errors. The screen rotation sensor for tablet mode crashed on me and I had to reboot the entire OS. Sometimes the screen brightness keys choose not to work until you restart. The volume buttons interchange (I press vol up, but volume goes down, wth), and once the touchscreen was completely disabled on me. So I've put up with a lot in a very short time.
Pros: The processor is very fast, it says 1.60ghz, but it bursts to 2.4ghz giving a very responsive feel when you're utilizing the touch screen. The battery life is amazing, and the bluelight shield actually makes reading ebooks on in tablet mode easy on the eyes. It's sturdy, the keyboard is comfortable, and it doesn't come with a ton of built-in annoying software that you don't need.
If you do decide to buy this (or if you're already stuck with it), I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go to Recovery in the Control Panel, and REGULARLY create restore points incase another feature crashes.

A good balance between quality and price. Processor is not the fastest, but 128gb SSD and 8gb RAM compensate the speed.

I am used to using a standard size keyboard and have not got used to this small one. I fail to see how Windows 10 is better than 8. The mouse is hard to control. The size if great for use when traveling, but not at home.

I wasn't in the market for the greatest 2 in 1 laptop of all time and that is not what this is, but it is excellent value for the price. Windows 10 is amazing. Touch screen/tablet mode isn't as good as I would like it to be but most problems I have are minimal. Great laptop, great value.

Good touchscreen. SSD drive is only 128 GB so need to be careful about number of programs loaded. Windows 10 & tablet mode work well. Good second laptop for home.
Only issue is that it is a little hard to get the laptop to come back up from sleep.

I love a smaller laptop to use for travel and general portability. I bought this as an upgrade to a Lenovo Yoga (which was a great laptop as well). I upgraded the hard drive to a 256GB SSD. The original hard drive had great performance, I just needed more storage.
I disabled the adaptive screen brightness setting when it's on AC power. With adaptive screen brightness enabled, it looks dull even in darker rooms. Getting the full brightness of the screen really makes the display pop.
Overall I'm very happy with this laptop. I'm glad I bought it.

Right Laptop for the job

I purchased this laptop for my daughter so she would be able to better participate with the online learning segment of her class. This laptop met all the requirements that were required for the programs, my daughter's needs, and my specs for the unit. I looked around and found less expensive units but once upgraded to this unit's specifications, I would have spent more out of pocket. My daughter is able to interact with her classmates with learning assignments, messaging and other class related activities.
What we like
Speedy powerful processor- Having a Quad Core Pentium works very well with all applications my daughter uses this laptop for.
8GB of Ram allows for lag time while programs open up.
128GB SSD makes this pint size laptop really nice to work with. All programs open very quickly.
11 inch touch screen. My daughter loves the fact she can touch the screen like her tablet but also us a keyboard for typing skills.
Compact size. Perfect for my daughter fingers. Light weight also helps with my daughter carrying the unit around.
Long battery life. This laptop runs for hours and hours before even thinking about needing a charger connected to it.
2 in 1 design is really nice. We can watch a show on netflix in a tent set up then go to a laptop for a work assignment. To tablet for a game.
Easy to set up. I was able to connect the laptop to my home network in the matter of minutes. The initial start up was a breeze too.
Most of all something really easy to use for my child.
We we don't like as much
Windows 10. Getting more use to it but rather run an older OS.
Other wise good buy. Descent specs for the money. Plenty of power for an elementary school student and the causal user who needs a small laptop for travel, web surfing, light tasks, etc.

Awful product

This has to be the worst purchase I have ever made when it comes to electronics. My husband and I bought the Dell 2in1 for an upcoming deployment and I wish we would've just went with a Mac. The third time he turned his 2in1 on, he received an 'Automatic Repair' message, which meant it completely wiped out the computer and all of the settings/programs he had set up. Thinking this was a one time occurrence, we went ahead and kept it. One week later, after he was already deployed, the 2in1 did the exact same thing. This was supposed to make it easy for my husband to finish school work and communicate with his family, but has been such a waste. He is going to have to send it back to me, which will take over a week after he gets a chance to send it, at least 1 week for best buy to decide if they can do anything with it, and then another week or so to send it back. Not only do we have little to no communication as it is, now we he will be out of any communication device for at least a month. I do not recommend this product at all.

This Dell 2-in-1 is a well designed machine. It feels sturdy, but not heavy, has more than adequate performance, and the touch screen is mostly nice. All in all I have no real complaints about this laptop, except one. Using a stylus on the screen, I am not able to sign my name because the display isn't capable of picking up that kind of a fluid motion.
