Awesome receiver. Got it to replace a Pioneer Elite since that receiver didn't support HDMI 2.1. Needed it since I have a PC attached that can do 4K 120Hz and the e-ARC of that receiver didn't have enough bandwidth to send PCM audio from the PC. This receiver also has enough HDMI inputs that I was able to move PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, Apple TV, Wii (bought HDMI adapter for that), and MiSTer into the receiver. Note that only three of the HDMI ports support 4K / 120Hz, but I only needed PC, PS5, and Xbox to have that support so works out fine. I also like that this receiver doesn't kick off my battery backup (APC 1500 UPS with Sine wave) like the Pioneer did when powering on. Seems to power on more gracefully. Receiver works with AirPlay too! Fun to kick off iTunes, select AirPlay, and add in my receiver, Sonos Play 5, Sonos Roam, and HomePod to play my music everywhere.

I love the sound of the Denon AVR-X2800H. I replaced an older Yamaha receiver and the sound quality with the same speaker set-up was remarkable.
The speaker balancing process was easy and the integration with the other home theater audio equipment was easy.

After my Denon 4310ci finally gave out, I purchased an Onkyo NR7100, but then had to return it because it had an annoying 2-3 sec audio delay when changing inputs or even upon fast forwarding or skipping on the same input. Replaced with this unit. Despite having slightly less power, 7.2ch vs 9.2ch, one fewer HDMI input, no legacy A/V inputs, and being slightly more expensive, I could not be happier. It works flawlessly switching/processing video AND audio. Sound is outstanding after room calibration and it drives my Martin-Logans with ease.

For those of you wondering what the difference between the X2800H vs S970H is, I can tell you sound quality. The X2800H simply has the fullness and bass that many complain the S970H does not have. I just swapped the S970H out for the X2800H, same speakers (Klipsch Reference 800), same set up but what a difference in sound, despite the paper specs being the same. Well worth the extra dollars.

Was smaller and lighter than the onkyo it replaced…very concerned when I unpackaged it. This changed the minute it booted up. From the 1080p menus to the step by step on-screen setup, this receiver was a 20 minute turn-key replacement that brought amazing sound and picture. Full 4k at 120 (it does 8k…) and dolby atmos. The various sound modes bring incredible sound stage, and the sound detail is impressive.

Upgraded from S920W. Interface is a bit cleaner and support for 4k120 and VRR is amazing! It is a shame you don't get Audacity XT32, but $500 more for that didn't seem like a good value. Upgrading to the X3800 would have given me 2 additional channels, but Im not too upset about missing out on those. 5.1.2 fills my room very well.

I just finished setting up this receiver and am very pleased with how it functions. It did take me a few tries to set it up correctly but I don't think that it was the fault of the receiver. Once it was hooked up correctly, it was very easy to use. It connected to all of my seven speakers and with the use of a microphone, it adjusted the sound to fit my living room.
