This didn't get 5 stars because the connector looked like it was jacked up, and also because this doesn't fit the dive housing. I thought originally is was jacked up but it's actually not, the connector is spring loaded skewed in order to perfectly line up with the cameras rear backpack connector. The reason for this is that the battery is part of the back door, you cannot separate the two, so they have to connect while you close the housing. I originally exchanged this thinking it was messed up so don't make the same mistake. Overall the product was excellent, it holds a massive charge and does not overheat the camera (which I was worried about). Keep in mind this will only work with the standard housing and NOT the dive housing :(

This extra sized hinged battery pack replaces the GoPro back door and is still waterproof. Be careful with the removal and replacement on the hinge, it is really easy but at first I didn't get how to remove. The battery will help me run the GoPro most of the day at sports events (instead of just 30 minutes for the internal batteries). But it will go dead if left connected to the GoPro Hero4 for too long (Hero4 still uses a little bit of battery when totally off!). Another thing to remember is all battery durations are VERY SHORT if you leave the WiFi on. WiFi will drain any battery in no time at all. I have used two of these batteries (recharging every night) at 3-day weekend long sports tournaments (recharge every night) and pretty much use 1 per day with the other as a backup. Also, this will not work with Hero5, Hero4 Silver, or other Hero's with screen on the back.

Holds a charge for a long standby time. There should have been a power switch so have it hold a longer charge when not in use. The shake function drains battery.

I actually purchased this by accident as I was actually just looking for a replacement battery for my Hero 3 but I am glad I was paying attention! Battery fits and works great and I don't have to worry about it dying during extended sessions.

Used this to keep the GoPro filming for over 2hrs when we launched our high altitude balloon and it worked flawlessly. Wish the lights on the back would not blink constantly and there was a way to turn it off. Pricey for what it really is but it worked.

Great battery alternative for older Gopro cameras like the GoPro 3+.

The case + battery is easy to attach and easily provides an extra couple hours of video run time. Advance planning/preparation is required though - it does take several hours to charge this battery

Went on a trip up to San Francisco and was able to record almost all of the road footage. Then I used it to timelapse the San Francisco Bay.. Well worth the price..

Love the battery time but hate not being able to see the screen. Guess I'll just have to take the trade-off. Nice price for the extra large battery.

The first one I purchased I had to return due to the battery power indicators not working...also the battery was dead when I went to use it for the first time (it was full charge less than a week before ) I went to charge it that evening and the indicators were not working. I left it on charge overnight and used it for about 8 hours the next day. About 2 hours of that was with the wifi on. I have decided not to leave the battery hooked up to the gopro now until I plan on using it. Even with the fact of having to return it I was very impressed with the duration of the battery.

Works really good I love the battery extend the time but does not give you near six hours even on 1080 P 24 frames per second I am so very happy and it does give me around 3 to 3 1/2 hours of extended time

Turned out to be better than I thought added hours on top of existing battery and was good for times when left to do time lapse outside

Excellent fit on Hero 3+ cases (won't fit Hero 3 case). Power lasts as advertised and is nice that it shows battery life with lights.

Not much else to say. Only tested this battery for a week so far while on vacation capturing video - underwater, zip lining, etc - as well as 45 minutes of time lapse sunset photos (recommend 1-shot every 5 seconds if slow moving clouds). Per the sunset shoot above, I suspect you won't achieve as much additional battery time as advertised BUT this pack is a huge step up from the standard size battery packs requiring fewer pack change overs if any.

This battery did a great job in keeping my gopro alive. No issues with leaking as it was a perfect fit.

One of the flaws of the GOPROs are the batteries, This device eliminates that worries. It gives 2 to 4 hours of use, I test them in Cancun in a 1 day tour and the GO PRO was the last camera working at the end of the day. I used it under water without any issues. GREAT product.

Works great with GoPro 3 easy to use on and off housing and waterproof

Used it while firefighting and it worked great. Lasted as log as I videoed.

Depending on how you put your settings for filming. You'll definitely get at least 4 to 41/2 hours hours of run time. One thing I would recommended is to have GoPro battery itself charged as well. It may feel bulky, but balanced well enough. Can't go wrong. It's way better than the knock off on line. Was worried when I purchased this,but I'm very happy with this one. Hence the review.

Got a go pro and needed everything for it. It works for about half of the time 6hrs to 3hrs with the Wi-Fi on. It get very Hot. Overall it's is still good.
