I love the entire Disgaea series, I haven't really played one that I did not enjoy. This game falls right into that pattern, tons of damage and a ton of leveling ability. A whole lot of fun to be had.

If you are looking for a tactical/strategy RPG, or a game in general, that is both fun and packed with content that will soak up hours look no further than Disgaea 5. The fact that the game can be taken on the road with the Switch is great as well. I found the depth a little daunting at first as I've never played a game in the Disgaea series. However I was able to quickly pick up on the mechanics and game-play by reading through the in-game tutorials and experimenting. May not bother most, but, I found some of the voice acting annoying at times, so, the ability to switch to Japanese with English subtitles was a nice addition.

It’s Disgaea, so you know what you are in for: hundreds of hours of strategy grinding, with cute characters and funny dialogue. The difference maker this time is the ability to play portable, which is PERFECT for a game like this. You can pull it out while waiting for an appointment and get a battle taken care of. The Switch is a godsend for games of this nature.

Based on the ongoing Japanese Simulation Role Playing Game genre (SRPG) or Tactical RPG, Disgaea 5 Complete Edition gives you hours of turn based strategy and a ton of Japanese styled comedy that you can play at home or take on the go. Set in the Netherworld, you play as a bunch of anime-styled demons attempting to defeat the demon emperor, Void Dark. Of course your characters range from the whole spectrum of anime archetypes - so be prepared for buxom beauties, pretty boys, cute monsters and outrageous attitudes all out for revenge! The gameplay is done in tactical turnbased battles where weapons, character types and positions on a 3d grid enviroment is the key to victory. There will be advantages and disadvantages based on the characters you choose as well as whether or not a character does Melee style or ranged attacks for example. You can also combine with other characters to do fusion attacks as well as have character special moves. There are a tons of allies to eventually choose from and you will be finding hours of content here. Since this is the complete edition, you get additionanl scenarios and characters not found in the original PS4 disc release. The music was fresh and the art style pretty appealing. The banter between the characters as well as the situations can be hilarious! If you've never played this series before and are not keen on Japanese anime trope comedy, I would suggest watching a few gameplay videos to see if the style meets your liking. Otherwise, if you crave great battle strategy gameplay with some beautiful characters and funny situations, this is a must - especially to play on the road.

Behind all the quirkiness tongue and cheeck humor lays a deep game. With tons and I mean tons to do from leveling up to setting up a board meeting to pass a vote. Just got to say best game on Switch besides Botw. Portable, addictive and fun. There is a learning curve but once you get over that its open season. Buy it

Great RPG that fits the Nintendo Switch perfectly. At last, a RPG that you can take with you and finish off that last quest whenever you're stuck waiting during your day.

If you like disgaea this is definitely the best complete edition out there. You can take it portable and play anywhere. Hundreds of hours game play.

This game is one the best strategy rpgs of all time now available for your Nintendo Switch. So, you can start a level anytime you want on the road thx to the portability of the Switch. The game offers a great story, that should keep you interested until the end. It lets you pick the class of characters on your team. It's a very technical, fun game hard to put down!

Being the 5th edition in the series and still going strong! A must have for JRPG lovers on the Switch!

Disgaea 5 has fantastic graphics, gameplay, and additional content to make it worthwhile.

I usually don't like tactics games or JRPGs, but I bought this after really enjoying the Switch demo and still find the game fun. The voice acting is hilarious, the mechanics (at least in the early going) are relatively simply, and the game is challenging without too many difficulty spikes. I'm appreciating the fact that the game is so episodic and I can finish a level relatively quickly on the go. My warning is that the game has no auto-save feature, and I've had to replay levels because I forgot to save after completing them. Save often!

Awesome RPG, if your'e a fan of FF tactics, or other tactics games, then this one is for you. While the game starts off too easy, you can actually unlock a cheat shop in-game that allows you to turn up difficulty and modify EXP, Mana, and gold earned. You even get to customize the color scheme of literally every character in your team. great game, if you have a switch then this is the game to get.

Disgaea 5 is a game where there's just so much to do and learn. Completing the story is only about 20% of the game. The post game is challenging and you'll be looking for ways to clear that next level or upgrade a new weapon. The humor may not be for everyone but the game play and depth more than makes up for it

Whether you want to play this in portable mode of just sit back and play it on the big screen this game is great. Disgaea lends itself to being played on the go and had many many hours of gameplay. This version of the game has all the extra content from the original.

This is a very nice game for the Switch because it makes a very nice portable experience. It's a very light-hearted strategy RPG, but it is not for beginners - they more or less throw you into the deep end assuming you have past experience with games of the genre (if not past Disgaea games). But if you're up for the challenge, you'll enjoy the game here!

Disgaea is an SRPG behemoth at this point, but this entry is my favorite. The ability to customize the color palette of your generic units was awesome and the portability made D5 Switch a frequent pick up when I wanted to game in bed or on the go.

I was on the fence about buying this game as I haven't played too many RPG's before. However, I took the chance on this game due to it being on sale. So far I have about 10 hours under my belt, and this game really has so much to do. If you are a fan of turn based-grindy RPG's then you'll definitely like this game.

It's Disgaea 5 on switch, need I really say more? Has all the dlc and dock mode, it's 1:1 with PS4 and even undocked, still seems to hold up to PS4 albeit with slightly longer load times and a few less colors.

Getting the game on Black Friday for $20 was a deal, playing Disgaea on the PS4 I really wished it was on hand held, and then years later it came to the Switch and it’s worth it and more fun to play on the go.

My son loves this game, and got it for a great price over the black-friday weekend, so it was a nice addition to the growing collection of games for the new system. Lots of fun playing...
