Customers express satisfaction with the propeller guards' protective capabilities, noting they help prevent propeller damage. Users appreciate the ease of installation and the affordable price, considering it a worthwhile investment for safeguarding against potential damage. However, some customers find the guards bulky, which prevents the drone from fitting into standard cases and may add weight. There were a few comments on flight time being affected.

I purchased these at the same time I purchased the drone. They defiantly help and do exactly what they are designed to do. Wish they were quick detach. As I have now seen that style on the net.

Drones are a new and complicated product that requires training. It is difficult for a none drone user to relate to a novice drone user. All the same a sale was made.

Propeller guards a must for drones but...

The idea behind propeller guards is very convincing... blades move super fast and without protection, can inadvertently injure someone. I was sold at this point as they are inexpensive compared to the drone. Also, I figured it would help protect the blades from damage in case I got too close to a tree. The only negative and why they don't get 5 stars is because they do not fit in the DJI case I bought for my DJI drone and DJI propeller guards. It's really annoying to have to bring another bag along to hold the guards when I already have a bunch of stuff.

I had an accident with my Phantom (clipped a tree trunk), which spurred me to think about purchasing these. I had looked at a few other brands, some that featured quick disconnects, but decided I wanted to get the OEM ones, and, to me, the quick disconnect sounded as though the guards may just pop off if you did hit something. These are screwed on. Anyways, these offer some protection, but it's up to you rather or not they are worthwhile.
Some downsides:
- When running at full speed, these are very evident in your video feed.
- Flight feels a bit different
- If you bump something, you still have a chance of getting upside down and damaging your props
- These have to be removed to put your phantom in the DJI backpack
On the upside:
- While I dont typically fly with these, I go ahead and use them in unfamiliar areas or when allowing someone else to pilot my drone.
- They are cheap insurance and offer some peace of mind.

I don't use as much as I thought I would

I thought I would use them more, but I don't. They will protect obstacles from the sides (I have run the drone into a wall before), but not from the top/bottom (i.e if you're flying around leaves/hanging branches). The string used to go around the guards is...hmmm, cheap, I guess. It's tough to tie a knot in thin string and still have the string taut. They will add weight to the drone, which affects other things like flight and flight time. Could probably go without; however, they are relatively inexpensive. So just having them on hand "in-case" may be worth it.

Prop guards

Prop guards do a great job of protecting the propellers when you're first learning to fly. I do recommend new owners install these for their first few hours of flight. A decent crash will crack these guards, however, that is certainly better than ruining the motors. Only took a minute to install. Easy.

Cheap protection for new flyer

The guards are cheap protection for your DJI drone. I bought them because I am a newbie at flying a drone. I will also be flying in close proximity to my rental properties while inspecting my roofs. I plan on keeping them on for inspections, just to be safe. Only draw back is that the guards are held on with the same mounting screws that hold the motors to the drone. So to remove them, you need to un-screw the motor mounting screws. I can see an issue with motor screws coming loose after repeated installation and removal of guards.
But again, cheap protection for the newbie, or somebody flying in close proximity to buildings or obstructions.

These prop guards will prevent the props from directly hitting a flat surface to the side. That is what they are designed to do, they do not prevent crashes. There a lot of people debating whether or not they:
1. Are a good purchase?
2. If they help protect the drone?
3. Alter flight characteristics?
4. Reduce flight time?
5. Catch the wind like a a sail?
All of these points are debatable, but what is not debatable is how they prevent the props from coming into direct contact with a surface that is beside the drone. This is what they are designed to do and they do it well. Just make sure to check if they are loose before every flight and make sure they cannot be hit by the propeller. Anything else just confuses the issue and distracts from their purpose.

Saved my propellers from a crash about 10 feet up onto concrete, Broke one on my phantom from a drop out of my hands onto carpet in my home. Maybe it was already cracked from my first crash, either way they saved my propellers from breaking. Glued it back together :)

I don't know if these fit all three versions of the dji Phantom drones but I bought them for my husband's standard version. These are very effective protecting the propellers from being damaged as we got to see first hand when the drone took off in the house and crashed into a solid wood bookcase. No damage and the drone was fine. I feel like this was a very wise $20 investment for a $600 toy and strongly recommend.

I am so glad I have these guards in place. Since I haven't gotten around to purchasing a case for the drone yet, it provides a little peace of mind when I have to transport it in the back of the family SUV. I'm able to place it up against the side in the cargo area (upright, of course), and use the remote as a chock block. No worries about props being bent, cracked, or broken.

These prop guards work great. They will definitely save your props from getting damaged in case you run into something during flight or landing. Only rease I didn't rate them 5 stars is because they install using screws and the drone will not fit in the free case from DJI while these are attached.

These prop guards do truly protect the propellers from direct collisions of the blades in flight. In addition they protect my fingers and other body parts from accidental contact in flight and on the ground. The optional string placement seems to strengthen the air frame and does provide a modicum of in flight protection for the body of the drone.

The phantom 3 prop Gaurds do exactly what they are designed to do, protect your propellers. They keep the minimum bumps from turning into costly repairs. Each gaurd requires you to remove 2 screws per propeller and install the Gaurds which is not a hard task. They are worth the investment.

I'm glad I spent the $20 to get these when I first bought the drone. They were easy to put on. Save the unused screws as you will want to take the guards off after you learn to fly without crashing into trees. Yes... I crashed into my backyard trees a couple of times and the guard saved the props and drone.
