This thermostat is fantastic. I love being able to control the temperature no matter where I am. I love that it knows if nobody is home and will adjust to a temperature that I programmed in, and then when someone gets home, it goes back to the previous temp. It has many features, some that I haven't tried yet. Installation was also a breeze.

the base plate is alittle big but overall it covers the holes from the previous thermostat. pretty simple to use. love that it can connect with other room sensors. but the nest does that now to so the edge is back to preference. ecobee is supported by the alexa fund so you will see more alexa enabled features coming soon. i think it was a solid purchase. geofencing is easy to setup

Easy to install and setup, i cant believe i waited this long to install a smart thermostat!!! i can now adjust the temperature from my phone instead of going downstairs to mess with the temp. i like that i can set (home, away and sleep) schedules with different temps all from my phone!!!

The perfect addition to a HomeKit enabled home. Works great with automation, good UI, and a good looking little device. Easy to install which took only about 10 mins. The future weather details easily available on the screen are great too. Overall love it.

The Ecobee 3 it’s the perfect combination of style, smarts, and efficiency in a compact device. Not to mention it works with Apple HomeKit giving you the bests of both comfort and control. The installation was easy and I did it myself in under 30 minutes

This lives up to the high ratings I read before purchasing. Excellent instructions, easy to install and program. Online support is easy to access and understand. Has been installed for nearly a week and works great. I bought a second for my 2 zone home, that’s how happy I am with this.

Works well with home kit and Siri, could use a bit more streamlining but good overall

I love new tech and the features along with the look of the Ecobee was very appealing. It wasn't as easy to install as I was hoping, but Ecobee has great customer service and was able to help us resolve our initial issues. I love that I can control the thermostat from my phone! The other night the A/C came on (one of the kids had dared to touch it) and from the comfort of my bed I could turn it off. I love the reports too. This is a very affordable thermostat upgrade!

Going with a smart thermostat to replace my old mercury one was an easy choice, but choosing which smart thermostat to go with can be a bit tougher. I am in an Apple household so HomeKit was a must, which narrowed the choices down quite a bit almost immediately. The ecobee seemed like the best option, balancing features and user-friendliness. The app is awesome and setting schedules is super easy. Having little things like filter replacement reminders and smart recovery really make a big difference. A side note, I did have to use the included PEK as my house does not have a C wire coming up to the thermostat. Even though I have never even taken the cover off a furnace before (let alone worked on one), the installation was easy and it works flawlessly. Overall, this is a great thermostat at a very reasonable price. Be sure to check with your electric and gas utilities to see if there are rebates for getting a smart thermostat!

This thermostat works great. I had an old style furnace and the instructions and assistance was extremely helpful. I now have control of the basement area of the house that was not available at this level of detail. I could not be happier!!

My old one went out and I want a thermostat that would allow me to monitor the house while away, this one did that plus more. Get scheduling and alarms built in. Can change the temp while away. Only thing that I did not get with this unit was the ability to control the hunidifier on the furnace. To get that you have to move to the ecobee 4.

Installation was fairly easy. My old thermostat had an extra wire that was not connected to its control port, so I was able to use it on my ecobee3 lite thermostat. I just had to open my furnace control board and connect that wire to its control port. The thermostat is easy to configure, schedule, and manage from the thermostat, and even easier sitting on the couch using the app. Price was good with the added incentive of a $125 rebate from our local natural gas provider. Only a few downsides: 1) the invitation that I sent to my wife did not allow her to sign in with her own account to manage the thermostat. 2) the GeoFence only works with one of our phones with both of us signed into the same account, so when she leaves, the away setting kicks in. Because of this, I decided to turn off the GeoFence. Though it did work great when we were leaving and arriving home together. 3) it will not stay connected to my WiFi when I hide the SSID. The other smart devices in our home have not had any connection issues when the WiFi SSID is hidden. Having said all that, I am very happy with the ecobee3 lite over the old thermostat that I could only manage by toggling through the presets.

Decided to get rid of the old thermostat and looked for one that offered a rebate. I chose the Ecobee3 lite because my daughter has a similar model. The installation was easy and I love being able to control my thermostat remotely with my phone.

Since I don’t have c-wire, I chose this mainly over other thermostat because of the Power Extender Kit (included in the package) which will let you to use this thermostat. installation s very easy and instructions are very helpful. Took around 1 hour to install (can take less tho but my furnace is located in very tight place) From features wise, it has everything you need to control and program the thermostat. I really like the minimum fan activation time, which helps circulating the air to keep the whole house at the same temperature and avoid hot/cold spots. I bought two sensors since my bedroom is always hotter than living room, so in this case i can make sure the AC will keep running to cooldown my room. As for saving money, i am not sure if this will save me money or if i will end up running the heating/cooling more, but i know the temperature in my house is well maintained. Touch screen is good, i was afraid it will suck, but it’s doing really good so far.

It looks good, responds quickly and does what it is supposed to do. It connected easily to my wifi and subsequently to my phone and asked me to monitor and make changes as needed on the fly. I love the weather connection too!

It works great and if your forgetful like me it’s even better because when you leave and forget to turn it off you can just get on your smartphone and change the temp or shut it off. Also great for summer when you leave and won’t be home for a wile but then want to cool the house b4 you get home.

Ecobee 3 thermostat is a great product. Easy to install and use. Works great without any problems.

I like this product. It's not smart like the NEST and you do need to program it but it's super easy. What I really like about this product is you can link sensors to it for each room so you're not just getting a reading where the thermostat is. This will monitor the temp in all the rooms where a sensor is installed and try to balance the overall temp. Installation was a bit of a pain but, I have to admit, I am not all that handy. I think for most it would be a piece of cake. Technical support for the product is okay (Yes, I had to call support to get it installed. I'm not proud) but I think it's offshore. The lady I talked to had a very thick accent which made her hard to understand though she was knowledgeable about the product. This product also paired up with Alexa super easy and works fine. I would stay away from the Ecobee 4. The built in Alexa does not have the same microphone technology as the real Alexa. The pick up is not as good nor can it judge when another Alexa is closer to your voice so if you have multiple Alexas and bring in an Ecobee 4 the Ecobee 4 may try to speak over the other Alexas. Just get a real Alexa and an Ecobee 3 lite.

I want to lead by saying that, although the Nest products don't "require" a C wire, the Nest user community seems to disagree. It appears that the Nest generally does not function well without a C wire. That being said, the ecobee comes with a power adapter that allows you to operate without a C wire if you don't have one. I'm very glad I chose to purchase the ecobee instead of the Nest E. The ecobee is a full touch screen, has support for a wider array of HVAC setups, and is very user friendly. Customer support was very helpful in determining if my system was supported. The app was very clear and helpful during installation. Though I enjoy the design of the Nest E, the ecobee looks great on the wall as well. There is a great feature where the ecobee will show the local weather; it's a nice design touch. Overall, it works great and looks good. Couldn't ask for much more.

I have since bought a 2nd one for my upstairs unit after testing my 1st one for a few months. The amount of control of the heating and cooling parameters are more than you could imagine. My old "dumb" thermostats had a temperature differential of .5 degrees and couldn't be changed. I originally bought a Honeywell "smart" thermostat only to send it back because it only allowed a default .5 degree temperature differential which caused my A/C to short cycle. I am now able to set it to my preference. The app if very quick to update when requesting a temperature change and the Alexa interface is a nice touch. It is also nice this thermostat operates on my schedule and doesn't try to "learn" a routine that it wants to set for energy efficiency which in turn makes the user uncomfortable. The Ecobee has that feature but I have it disabled.
