This thermostat is easy to set up. I can adjust it from my phone from anywhere. It's a great idea.

Alexa is wonderful!!! Instead of running up and down the stairs. I just say Alexa please turn the temperature to 74 and then she even tells me a joke.

Bought this to add to a Samsung SmartThings supported home network. Really like the ability for this to control on the unit, via the app, or via one of our 3 Amazon Echos (1 Echo, 2 Echo dots). Also like the vacation feature while we are out of town or gone for the night. Nice that the systems adjusts when we are/are not home.

It is easy to read and the Alexa app allows me to control it and not get up to adjust it.

My wife and I prefer to have our night temperature at 70deg and day at 76deg. Given the outside temperature can be higher or lower than these temps, heating OR cooling is required. Thus, we must use the System mode “Auto”. One: Recovery doesn’t work when System is set to “Auto” [Cool Auto Heat]. Recovery mode is a standard feature for most high-end thermostats. Simply: Over a period of time, the system learns how long it takes to reach a set temperature and starts the cooling or heating so the temperature is close to the set temperature at the set time. My old Honeywell thermostat worked well and Recovery in my EV car works great, even better. Two: The temperature offset between the cooling and heating temps of 2deg minimum quite annoying. The user should be able to set the desired temperature. Period. Tech support claims the offset is to prevent “short cycling” when System/Auto is used. This is nonsense. I’m a retired EE and designed temperature controlled systems 40 years ago that didn’t require the offset. Three: The System Monitor/ Download Data feature doesn’t work with the Firefox browsers. I reported this bug over two months ago. Tech support suggested I use a different browser! I even tracked down the bug for them. They save a flawed browser cookie. The fix should be easy. Yes, I’ve discussed these design flaws several times for 2+ months with the Ecobee4 tech support folks. They are friendly; but, have no control over fixing the firmware.

Does everything I need it to do and its always at the right temperature.

Works like it says it should. Didn't care for the extra sensor since we don't have a dual controlled furnace. Alexa turns on more than expected (TV talking, or nothing at all), but we solved that by turning the notification noise off so it only lights up. Wish you could change the name, but we had to change our Echo to Computer instead because it is in too close of proximity. Sometimes forget and still call it Alexa. The Alexa feature could use some upgrades. Also wish the front displayed time so I didn't have to ask Alexa what time it is.

The ecobee4 is great! Works wonderful with Alexa and was very easy to install and set up.

It’s a good and smart thermostat but honestly had I have the chance to go back I would go with the nest, specially because I’m an Apple guy. The UI is poor, the App is buggy, the display is meh, the WiFi works only with 2.4 which is simply a pity, and Alexa doesn’t do much more than Siri on this. I would get the ecobee 3 to save some money but wait, no I wouldn’t because it’s not as good as it sounds... I would get the nest.
