Works as stated and easy to set-up.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having a bedroom that felt a few degrees colder every winter was my main driving force for buying the Ecobee4. I can tell you, on the first night and each consecutive, we have definitely noticed that the house is much more balanced now! OK, now onto the install - it took a total of 30 minutes for the physical installation, with some help being provided by the app and fine tuning through the website. Adding it to the rest of the "smart home" devices through Wink and Alexa was easy enough, taking only a few more minutes.

Great Thermostat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thermostat is great and is even better when you add on remote sensors. I am able to tell the system to ignore all sensors in the house other than the one in my bedroom at night. That allows me to get the temperature in the bedroom where I want it rather than the temp in the lower level of the house and hope the bedroom is right. Alexa built in is great as well. The microphone could be a little better as sometimes Alexa has a hard time hearing me and I have to talk loud but for the most part it works really well.

Great thermostat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this after reading online reviews and mostly as it is compatible with the Apple HomeKit. It has been in use for about 3 weeks now. Using the online videos and app (which walks you through installation), installation was pretty easy. The rest of set up was also easy. There are lots of settings you can customize and control via the Ecobee app. Simply settings are incorporated into Apple HomeKit so you can control your home from one app. I have not used the room sensor, so cannot comment on that component.

Smart and good looking!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was debating between this one and the Nest. My decision came down to integrated Alexa, sensor and looks. Very elegant looking. As far at the functionality is concern, it does works great. Total control of your thermostat at the palm of your hands. You might want to hire the professional installation. Not as straight forward as they make you believe. It took me close to 8 hrs between calls and small wall issues.

Great Thermostat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good product especially with the room sensors. I purchased two more room sensors for my other two bedrooms. The room sensors seem to manage the temperature of these rooms as I noticed the difference the next day after I installed them. I was able to figure out the installation of this thermostat without hiring a professional. I did have to refer to the Ecobee 4 chat room. There is a lot of information out there to help with the installation of this thermostat. I highly recommend this thermostat.

Smartest Thermostat on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Highly recommended. We had the nest before switching to the ecobee3. I only own the ecobee3 for 2 month before the ecobee4 came out. Well guess what? I ended up replacing my two month old ecobee3 for the 4 and absolutely love it. We have a couple WeMo light switch and plug and since we didn't own any Alexa control devices we thought this would be the way to go. I can control all my WeMo product through the thermostat which is great. The ecobee4 is very sensitive when you say Alexa from across the room.

Great in app control
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Able to use the Ecobee app as well as the Apple Home Kit app while connected to the same wifi using Siri. I also have it connected to my Apple TV so I can use the proximity sensors to turn on and off the air. The Alexia feature is nice as well. Installation and set up were extremely easy and took about 5 minutes.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the product for for two weeks. I like the extra sensor. The family room stays cold so I placed the sensor in there and then set the “at home” selection for that sensor. The thermostat is set for the “away” and “sleep” mode. The only problem I’ve had is with the scheduling because it has a pre-set schedule and the schedule rolls from one day to the next. I would have been better off deleting the default schedule and started from scratch. But I finally got a decent schedule. I would give have given 5 stars except for the scheduling hassle.

Great product, best smart thermostat on market.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big fan of this brand. I've used other products in the past and this is by far the best product out there. The remote temperature sensors are what won me over. They give me insight into my kid's rooms which is very important. They also factor into the overall temperature which helps keep the house balanced not just based on one thermostat in a central which is less effective then this new Ecobee method. It's just a great all around product.

One the best smart thermostats
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ecobee4 is one of the best smart thermostats in the market. Besides looking great, the sensors take a big first step towards solving the temperature difference problems between where the thermostat is and the rooms it controls. Less certain about the usefulness of Alexa. Thermostats tend to be located in areas (hallways, etc.) where you would not typically need a voice activated assistant. But it is there, just in case.

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this on a Black Friday deal. Installation was simple and works as expected. I'm still going through all the settings and scheduling. I use the app and as others have stated it's slow and laggy. I have not noticed any lag on iOS it clearly isn't super quick but seems of normal speeds. I use this with Google Home and it works good. Overall I am satisfied with this device it seems to do what its intended to do.

It has its pros and cons
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Nest user for years, their product is simple to use and is very intuitive. But I opted for the Ecobee for my apartment because it comes with the room sensor (very helpful considering the thermostat is not located in a central location). However, the platform is complicated to use, Alexa always loses connection with the voice servers, and the Ecobee does NOT offer a fully customizable schedule like the Nest does. However, where the Ecobee shines is in its configuration settings. The Nest has a pre-defined algorithm for how to run your HVAC system (cannot adjust temperature thresholds, hold over times, etc), the Ecobee gives the user excellent control over the specifics of how you want your air to run (I adjusted mine from the factory default 0.5* threshold to 2* to keep my air off more than on). Plus, the room sensor allows you to set a temperature for a specific location (very helpful at night when keeping the bedroom cool is more important than the rest of the apartment). The Ecobee would be far better suited on a Zoned HVAC system, but even on non-zoned unit like mine, the room sensor still allows me to focus my temperature control over specific rooms to an extent.

Easiest thermostat to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of all the smart thermostats I’ve installed, this was definitely the most intuitive. The Apple HomeKit integration was a breeze as well. I love the detailed reports that you can get online (currently not available through the app). Looks nice too!

Great product!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I shopped around for a smart thermostat and chose the Ecobee 4 because it came with an extra room sensor. I keep it on the 2nd floor. I got help from a friend to install it since electrical is not my expertise. Very easy to calibrate with Wifi. The smart features helps when you come home during your “away” schedule. Also calculates the humidity in the house.

Good So Far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Ecobee4 as a recommendation by my HVAC professional. I had tried a Nest thermostat about a year ago, but it wouldn't work with my variable speed fan. (I contacted Nest, and they verified this.) The Ecobee4, however, does work with my Carrier unit. The reason for my purchase was to try to fix a balancing problem throughout the upstairs. Certain rooms were constantly cold while others were always hot. The basis for using this is that the Ecobee4 has the option to add remote sensors to the system. This allows the thermostat to understand that because my bedroom is at a good temperature, it doesn't mean that the office is okay. It takes all of the information and averages the temperature. By knowing the average, the unit can run long enough to be as close to balanced as possible without adding dampers or re-running ductwork. So far, this has improved by temperature delta somewhat. I will probably need to make some other duct/damper changes in addition to the thermostat to fully correct the situation. Overall I am using 5 remote sensors in addition to the sensor on the thermostat itself. I did contact Ecobee customer service about a wiring issue during installation. They were extremely prompt, and responded within 15 minutes. They gave me the correct wiring diagram, which I installed. I replied that I had installed as recommended. The next day they followed up to make sure that I was satisfied with their assistance. Overall, it seems to be an improvement. The Ecobee4 has Amazon's Alexa embedded into the thermostat. While some people may think that's neat, I'm not really sure I need that feature. I do appreciate the attempt to connect to other smart home technologies.
