We had to create space on our kitchen counters and decided to use the area above our stove. We had the small cupboard presently in place cut done by a few inches, removed the old range cover, and installed this microwave/ convection oven. Because of the convection oven, we are able to have three ovens at that location. We have a GE double oven with the control board on the front. Sometimes we use on of the stove ovens as a warmer, which we do have the space to add.

This convection / microwave was delivered 1 month ago. It is replacing a Samsung Over-The-Range convection / microwave. The Samsung was ridiculously noisy, had a weak vent fan, poor lighting, and very dim display but overall it did work pretty good. After 4 years of service it got donated to Habitat For Humanity (thanks for the tax write off). NOW I have the Electrolux convection / microwave. It was difficult to install. The holes and brackets from my previous microwave aren't in the same location. I understand that these are different brands but I've hung different microwave brands in the same location before and the mounts where pretty universal - not this time. The LED display on this device is just as dim as the one on my previous device. I guess NOBODY can create a display that's easily visible from more than 7 feet away.
Now here's where the Electrolux sets itself apart,,, it looks great, the lights are bright, and the vent fan actually works really well. The interior is all stainless steel with this cool diamond pattern. It looks really nice. When using the convection oven,,, the temperatures are accurate and it bakes to perfection. It is noisy too but nowhere near as screechy and obnoxious as the Samsung. It's just the nature of convection / microwaves to be a little loud. If anyone finds a quite one please let me know. As for the buttons,,, there ARE NO buttons. It's a flat touch panel just like your smart phone. Pushing hard on a number doesn't make it work. You have to gently apply a full fingerprint over the button to get it to work and you cannot be in a hurry. It takes a little getting used to but it's really not that big a deal.
This is an expensive device but it was worth it.

I read the reviews, but since we have installed ours, we have had no problems.
The digital entry is a welcome method after using our GE Profile double oven front key-in electric range. The GE is easy to add or change with a little touch or bump. A stomach hanging over the keyboard cancels or changes settings, which we have learned to work with (I have lost weight). The GE also has a lockout setting to avoid this when it off.
The Microwave avoids all the extra work by having to one touch each key for about 1 second which is a nice touch solution. This is not a cell phone or computer keyboard and allows for accuracy. Understanding these features and getting used to them makes the microwave work extremely easy.
Everything works fine and based on the reviews, we did take out a five year maintenance agreement with the Geek Squad.
The looks are special and blends into our kitchen nicely.

you do get an awful lot for your money with this model. The combination oven can be used in the same way as a conventional oven, OR you can select from a series of pre-sets whereby different elements are used to prepare food - such as pizzas. I tried my first frozen pizza recently using the preset option - and keeping an eye on it - and it done a terrific job on it. Initially you do need to consult the manual a fair bit - not because it's overly complicated, just because there are so many useful presets and ways of doing things - ie defrosting food either by weight or time. I cannot find a single thing to fault about it. Excellent item, great price and it feels solid and well made..useful for ham-fisted guys like myself !!"

Great Microwave/Convection Oven!

We've owned 3 over-range microwaves and this is our first one that is also Convection. We love it! Larger than our previous ones and much quieter! Lights illuminating our Range are fantastic! Much better than previous units. We like that the control buttons are on the bottom, much easier for shorter folks to see but they are a bit hard to press to get them to do what you want it to do. Maybe they'll soften up with use...we'll see. We do wish the Countdown Timer (which we use quite often) would beep until we shut it off when the set moments have completed. It beeps several times and that's it. If we're not around when it beeps and forget to look to see if the countdown is complete, what we have it set for could get overcooked. Minor problem though...we'll just buy a separate timer at Wallyworld or BB&B.

Love my Electrolux microwave. It is super quiet. We always have to check to make sure we started it. Looks great with the rest of our Electrolux appliances. Only thing it's missing is a shortcut feature for bacon. Just found out if you touch a number, it will start automatically without pressing start. Really easy to operate. The vent is quiet as well, unless you have it on high. Which is still quiet compared to others.
It was a bit difficult to install when we removed our old GE Profile microwave. It definitely took more than 30 mins. More like 1 hour and a half. The space inside is huge. You can't go wrong with this one.

Minus Two Stars For Burning Smell

I would have given this five stars if it weren't for the toxic burning smell emitted from the oven while using the convection feature. I'm assuming it's residual due to the manufacturing process e.g. chemical cleaning agents, oil etc. being burned off by the heating element. I haven't used that feature since as I don't want my food permeated with what ever that is or was burning. Also the inside has become discolored from the heating element, not sure if that's normal or not.

Unit is well made and cooks great. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is that the touch screen for menu and start buttons is hard to use sometimes. You have to hit the keys just right to get them to work.

I was a little hesitant to spend so much on a microwave but I waited and bought it when it was on sale. It was well worth the weight and the price tag (full price). I have had it now for a month and am still learning all of the different options. The microwave is a nice size and looks really good.
The only draw back is that the display is not very bright.

Was surprised given the quality expectations that there was an "out of box" failure for such a minor issue. Still required a "Geek Squad" visit to repair.

Great Microwave, but the exhaust fan is LOUD !!!

Picked this up locally, and installation was fairly easy. At first we thought there was a issue with the keys as they didn't seem too responsive. We learned that you must touch and hold for a second to have it register. No biggie, just have to slow down :-)
One complaint is the exhaust fan noise. It's LOUD. I have it exhausting out the top to the outside of the house. However it's very loud inside. I believe a lot of it is wind noise, because the fan is rated at a very high CFM for over the stove microwaves.
My other complaint is the underside lights. They work great but they get HOT. If left on for a period of time, they will heat up the inside of the microwave. You would of thought they would have used LED's.

Are all Electrolux Microwave ovens faulty?

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I had my first Electrolux Microwave (E130BM60MS) delivered on 10/3/14. Shortly after that the microwave oven would turn on by itself and run for 1 minute. There was no pattern and the number of times it could come on in a day varied. (an estimate would be about 40 times) After several attempts and 11 weeks to fix the problem, the microwave was replaced. I had to return the microwave to the store and buy the replacement - even with a service contract. The second microwave oven does something different. The casserole button turns on (and beeps) and there is a message to hit the scroll menu or a numeric key. Did I happen to get the only two Electrolux microwave ovens that have a problem? Or, do other people also have problems? I don't know what I should do. I called and asked the repairman to look into this for me. I haven't heard back yet. Do I want to go through 11 more weeks of Best Buy trying to repair this one before agreeing to replace it? Not very happy with my purchase.

Looks great in the space and micro works great. Bought as open box and although the box had no dents there was a dent on the side. It's hidden when installed so we kept the unit. Mico works great but when the fan for convection came on it made a horrible noise. Called support and they called back quickly and have a part on order. Should be fixed next week.

The microwave and convection features allow me to use it to prepare many different meals or bake cakes and pies if I choose. The large size does not limit me to only small items. Also, it looks great.

Got this on 9/19/16, few weeks later, there is condensation between the glass.
New door is on order with Electrolux.
Hopefully the new door will work out? Otherwise, this is a good combo microwave/convection oven.
