This game has evolved since I started playing the first game that came out for the Gameboy Advance. Really nice graphics, story is really engaging, and the characters are very well done. Difficulty level is also present. More with the Conquest version of the game. If you're a fire emblem fan, this game is a must have!

It's a great strategy RPG that is both challenging and fun as well as addicting. If you played previous games in the fire emblem series then you should in join this game as well as. The story I enjoy very well , not sure if you would just because this is the third fire emblem game I've played. And if you played every previous game then you might really like the story or not, but as far as the gameplay it's solid as usual. So buy it, I yes.

I bought this the day it first came out and a week later went back to buy Birthright for my sister and they were sold out. Everywhere else was the same story (she did eventually get a copy by putting them on hold). Anyway, the game. It's amazing. Wonderful. For the most part the English voice acting is on point, and this is one of the rare few times that the translated song sounds good (you know when you're watching your favorite anime and they translate the song. And you're cringing? Yeah. Not here.) The gameplay ranges from the classic 'if your people fall in battle they're gone forever' to 'they respawn the very next turn'. The My Castle feature is fun. The weapons system have been rebalanced; they no longer break but they have drawbacks now that will take a bit of strategizing to get around in tough spots. For Conquest especially, watch who makes the final blows as EXP points are scarce, unless you buy the DLC, which I did and I highly encourage you to do as well. I remember people were complaining when they found out the 'rubbing'/skinship had been removed. It's not entirely gone, just reduced to bond cut scenes. I bought the physical copy of Conquest, the digital version of Birthright and the Revelation path DLC. Buy all of them! It'll be worth it for sure and show your support for future translations of games like these!

Fire Emblem Fates is a game that captures the wide amount of play styles in its target audience. Conquest is a challenging game for veterans of the series, and Birthright is an easier ride for newcomers and casual players. Both games are charming and their characters will make you want to play in a way where you can stave off death and still pull off a tactical victory.

It's been a LONG ago since I've last played a strategy RPG that was genuinely hard and not CHEAP hard. Whenever I lost a battle or a unit it never felt like it was because the game or level was designed poorly or unfair but because I made a careless mistake in where I placed my units or the order of who goes when. It'll make you itch your brain so that you can make the match go perfectly in your favor.
The game doesn't hold your hand and if this is your first Fire Emblem game you're going to feel that. Because trust me, this is my first Fire Emblem game and I'm still learning everything, but i'm getting there and even without knowing every single detail of every mechanic this game is still plenty of fun for newcomers.
Characters are vibrant and fun. You'll always be happy to slap a new character in your army! And all of the dialogue an support talking is always a pleasure to read no matter who it's between.

A Difficult And Rewarding Experience

After finishing Birthright I jumped right into this one. You can definitely notice the differences. For one this version doesn't let you grind as easily as Birthright and its also more difficult. Because of this you have to make every move count and also decided as fast as possible who you want to pair up and marry since you might not be able to unless you really commit. The battles themselves are also more difficult and the requirements to beat a chapter are often different than those of Birthright(you'll see what I mean lol).It was honestly a nice change of pace and I enjoyed the challenge as these changes made it feel like a new game. Also, the story in Conquest is much better compared to Birthright in my opinion. I was surprised how much I loved my Nohr family and how the story was not as cheesy as BIrthright's. Overall I can't say I like this game less than Birthright because I like it just as much. There are even things I like more about this version than the other. Just be prepared for a tougher experience.

Fire emblem games are always awesome and they fit right in on the 3ds system. Conquest plays like the older fire emblem games while Birthright plays more like Awakening. Both games are awesome and take different story paths. A must play for fans of the series.

I would like to start by saying that Fire Rmblem Fates: Conquest is a great game with some of the best gameplay in the franchise. However, I would also like to warn potential buyers that it does not include all of the content that makes up Fire Emblem Fates. Early on in the game you are given a choice to take the story in one of three directions. This game includes one of them but to play the others you will need to pay an additional $20 for each path. With that said, the game itself is excellent and all three paths feature completely different maps and stories.
The gameplay is some of the best in the franchise but even with three different storylines don't expect much from the narrative. It gets the player from point A to B bit the characters and their interactions are far more memorable than the plot.

Fire Emblem Awakening was the first Fire Emblem I played back on the 3DS, since then I haven't gotten enough of these titles. The newest, Fates comprised of Birthright/Conquest and the DLC Revelations. All great additions to the Fire Emblem family. If you're new to 3DS these titles are highly suggested even if you haven't played a tactical RPG before. One suggestion only purchase one title (either Birthright or Conquest) and purchase the DLC option for the other as the first 6 chapters are the exact same on both cartridge! Saving you the 20 you need for the third installment revelations which is DLC only.

Conquest is another winner in the Fire Emblem series. It's just as addictive as the previous incarnations, but comes with the added bonus of new features like bonding, updated UI elements, refined multiplayer, and online options. Conquest was made for veteran players (by making it more difficult than Birthright) and aims to make everything a challenge. You have limited battles, harder enemy AI, and additional mission conditions. I would recommend Conquest for crafty, calculating players.

The latest addition of fire emblem posts a lot of new features that has never been shown before and any other fire in the game.
Avatar character: for the first time you're able to customize your character in such a debts to where the character feels truly unique to you. Lots of hairstyles, colors, and accessories that show up during battle and cut scenes. This is also the first time where the main character is proficient in swords and Dragon stone. The previous entry was proficiency swords and tomes.
Multiplayer: you can also have one on one battles with your friends and with random people online with your strongest team. There are different types of battles that can be played, standard. limited (time limit) and your own castle.
My Castle: Having your own castle and being able to change and manipulate the set pieces gives the player tons of freedom and how they want their counsel to look as well as making it more difficult for online players to invade your castle. By having unique set ups and placements of your troop your castle brings lots of different strategical advantages. And after playing through the story you gave me ability to create more different types of buildings that have unique capabilities such as gaining new materials to improve your weapons and accessories.
Lots of Personality and Charm: There is a gigantic roster of characters that all have different types of personality troops and interesting backstory is when paired with each other. There is over 200 different types of interactions with each other and interesting dialogue between the two games.

Admittedly, I went to Best Buy looking for Birthright since I was well aware that it was the easier of the two and, as a result, going from it to Conquest would be a lot easier than going from Conquest to Birthright (since that difficulty change would be far more jarring).
I bought it on a whim, but it didn't take me long to give up any misgivings I had about getting this game first. Though I was skeptical in the beginning, Nohr's cast is very fun and has a number of characters who I was instantly a fan of. The story, which I wouldn't dare spoil, also takes a number of high roads and I'm pretty thankful that they too the idea the way they did.
The gameplay's been given a number of tweaks from Awakening, all of which supplement the game's return to form. In Conquest, the only grinding that can be done is support grinding, so (assuming you're playing on Hard/Classic, the game's equivalent to normal), you'll have to make decisions about who you want to level up and whether they're worth risking. It all feels very Fire Emblem and really does its part in making the game feel like a step back towards strategic structure.
In regards to Conquest specifically, if you're playing on the aforementioned difficulty, it can get very tough. Keep that in mind, though I will say that at no point is any of the DLC required to keep you moving forward, no matter how bad things may seem.
Overall, I'm really enjoying this game- more than any Fire Emblem game in a good long while. Its soundtrack is solid and the gameplay changes aren't so radical that they're jarring or alienating. And, if you liked Awakening, you'll definitely enjoy this entry. Looking forward to playing Birthright and Revelation.

If you are a Fire Emblem fan, you will love Conquest--but be prepared, it is by far the hardest FE game in the series. (Even on Hard, it is much more difficult than Awakening on Lunatic.)
If you are not a Fire Emblem fan, I strongly recommend picking up Birthright and playing that before giving Conquest a shot. Conquest is the better game, but it will likely be too difficult for a novice to the series.

This is another excellent entry in the Fire Emblem series. It's a turn-based tactical role-play game. You have a number of characters you control on a board against a number of enemies.
The story campaign here in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest is one path you can take. There is also a different story campaign path in Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright. If you buy one, you can download and play the other path later. There is also a third "epilogue" campaign for download called Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. Conquest is considered more challenging and better for those who have played Fire Emblem games before, while Birthright is easier for those new to the series. Revelation's challenge lies in between.
This is probably one of the most popular series on Nintento handhelds. Give it a try!
