I needed an ice maker when my built in maker broke down and it would've cost me $$$$ to replace just the ice maker. This is a good alternative.

This unit has worked perfectly, simply makes ice until full and then recycles when is low again. Will note the window isn't tinted like it looks like in picture.

Portable Ice Maker

The ice storage area is not refrigerated. It is intended that ice produced be periodically transferred to zipperlock bags for storage in a conventional freezer.
To make firmer/larger/drier ice, use colder water. Tip, let the first couple of batches of ice fall into the water reservoir to chill the water.

As others have mentioned the is maker does not keep the ice cubes frozen. I was unable to find any ice makers in this price range that kept the ice frozen. Overall no major complaints or surprises.

Great but ice is wet
