It works much better than the Italian gas cooktop I had in my last house. It simmers very well which is the setting I use the most. It's a bit scratched from 7 years of use, but that is to be expected. It does shine up well using a Weinman stainless cleaner/polish. I plan to use high-temp black spray paint to re-paint the grates and round discs because they have faded/look dirty but that never cleans off. My only "con" is that the knobs ARE NOT stainless. They are some sort of cheap plastic. Not only that, part of the plastic appears to be always peeling of (but it isn't really). For this reason, the knobs always look dirty and cheap. I searched the web for stainless replacement knobs that fit this model but so far haven't had any luck.
