    Very Capable Camera, But....

Fujifilm - X Series X-T20 Mirrorless Camera with XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS Lens - Black : My Review - I was very excited to purchase this camera after doing research and reading many reviews by the pros. But ultimately I had to return the camera. In fairness I believe I may have received a bad unit. Let me preface the following statements by saying that I am an intermediate shooter and mostly shoot Auto or Program auto and occasionally Aperture priority. The camera I received was very schizophrenic in auto mode, I would compose a shot and it would be very dark, then recompose and it would be overly bright, and a third time and it would be somewhere in the middle. It was like the metering portion could not decide what to do. To me it was if the Auto mode was poorly implemented. If I took control of the shot in P, or A mode it was much better. but still far from ideal. For someone of my skill level it was tough. I was able to squeeze out some superb images (It is really true what they say about Fuji's amazing jpeg engine right out of camera and sensor too) but far to many shots were underexposed and unusable. I was left feeling like this camera is much more suited to experienced shooters who want total control of most aspects of the camera. The Auto mode is very weak, the worst so far that I have encountered. In short, my experience was not good overall. To me it seems obvious that if you are an experienced shooter that likes to shoot manual or close to it then this camera would be awesome, but if you are a beginner or even intermediate and want to use Auto mode you will be very disappointed, unless it was just the camera that was bad from factory. I wasnt going to try another unit. The 4K movie mode is decent at best and is limited to 10 minutes and the camera does get pretty hot, its very gimmicky, it works but really pretty forgettable. If your into shooting video this is not the camera for you. check out a Panasonic or Sony. This camera is really geared to seasoned photographers looking for a smaller and capable second or backup. NOT a good choice for beginners or intermediate users. My 2 cents, I hope it helps someone.

This camera is so much fun to shoot with. It took me a few days to get adjusted to shooting with it because I’ve never been part of the Fuji system. What made it easier for me to use it is being able to program all the buttons for what I want creating a great work flow. This sounds like it’s more advanced but it’s not. This camera is great for the beginner who’s looking to find their style of photography and run. This is also a camera that is used by professionals all over for their trips and travel because it’s ability to produce great image quality at such a small size. Film simulation is phenomenal and helps give you great colors right out of the camera without having to go into Lightroom for post production. I love that I can just set film simulation for my desired look snag a few shots and pull great JPEGs on to my phone for my enjoyment with little to no editing. The video is also great and easy to use, I shot our trip in Alaska with this camera with film simulation and got some great footage. Overall this camera does it all and will constantly be there as a reliable tool to help you increase your photography craft while also just having fun with your friends and shooting photos. It vintage and film camera look makes it less intrusive which gives you the ability to catch some really spectacular moments. I love Fuji and you should definitely get this camera.

I have so much fun with this camera. It's just like camera plus photoshop. There are no need to use photoshop or any software to adjust the pictures. You can see it how you want your picture look like before you press the shutter. You can add color, increase highlight, decrease shadow and so much more..I had DSLR and I think this X-T20 going to give me a hard time to learn how to use but I was wrong .. since I have this camera I go outside every weekend to shoot photos and come home to print my photos to give to my colleagues at work which they put my photo on their partition.. now I feel like I have my own little gallery at work :) The bad thing is lens are pretty expensive but you get what you pay for.. right?

I am looking for a camera without too much time effort on photo editing. Fujifilm XT20 has enough functions I need comparing the professional camera. XT20 is not that heavy, but with 18-55, it's not that small neither. If you are looking for a smaller and lighter size camera, I think Sony 6000 will be a better choice.

Images look great, even in low light. Compact size makes it very portable and easy to take anywhere. Very easy to customize the camera's buttons to quickly access the adjustments you use the most. Battery does not last as long as I wish it would, but it can still last you nearly a whole day of constant shooting. Overall, a great camera.

Changed From Canon DSLR - And SO HAPPY

I loved my Canon DSLR, but it was just getting too bulky and a lot of the lenses were just too pricey. I also wanted more features that mirrorless cameras offer, and I’m really glad I switched! It’s very different than Canon, obviously, but I’ve enjoyed learning this new system and the lenses are fantastic!

Skip the XT2 if you don't need weather resistance and 4K video for this and use the extra loot on a lens.

I've had this camera for just over a year and I love it. It's been on many a vacation with me and it takes fantastic photos. I've only used the kit lens, which is fantastic, but this year I hope to explore more prime lenses. Love this little guy and look forward to much more with it :)

Same image quality as the X-t2 in a smaller body. The lens is great for both video and photos. You save a lot by buying both camera and lens as a kit

This camera has been everything I'm come to expect from the Fuji mirrorless camera system. I still haven't bought a lends other the one kit lense to really enjoy the clarity and sharpness, but all I can say is wow what a phenomenal product. It's hard to beat this camera with the price tag listed. You basically have an x-t2 in a smaller form factor. Love it and would highly recommend it to anyone.
