I wanted this for my YouTube videos and photos to hook up to my laptop. It’s really solidly built. Beautiful metallic blue and rubber protective edge that can detach. There’s a little rubber closure tab that closes over the hole for the USB C port. Seems like you can toss in your bag and go. Love it. Also it does come with an adapter for USB 3.0

although I did not keep this item, I was very impressed by the speed and the design of it. What I needed it to connect to it just wouldn't work that was why I returned it. There is no other reason. The design is really cool and unique. It says tractable and can basically be submerged in water or ran over. The connection is my favorite part it snaps so secure that you're guaranteed a faster transfer because of the cord.

So far so food! I bought this after seeing multiple positive reviews including ones from youtubers. I use it to hold pictures, videos (im a media hoarder) and important docs like resume, applications, copies of gov docs, etc. and I have tons of space. I also have a macbook pro for reference so it hasn't crashed on me like other devices have. Fingers crossed it stays this way!

I have a previous version of a g drive a silver when I believe and I have about 400 movies in there with about 600 GB left of storage... And it's still going strong... So when I saw this one on sale I had to snatch it up because of their dependability and also because I have about 30,000 photos in my Google drive and tons of videos that I need put on this drive.... I would surely recommend this product!!

I purchased this hard drive to backup our data after losing data on my old laptop because of a virus. I know use it to backup the data on all of our computers so if I ever had to restore my computer's data and software, it would be a cinch or if you are purchasing a new laptop and want to transfer over your data, this is perfect. It is known to be a reliable brand and a great value.

I use it to store my movies photos and music love it will get another one soon

This is large enough to store all my data, has super fast connection speeds so I can work directly from the hard drive without transferring to my computer, and is strong enough to withstand my children who borrow my computer and drag along the hard drive. Love it!

Super fast and connects with ease. Discoverability has been fantastic. Plenty of storage for backing up my work laptop and my personal laptop. Love the USB-C connection so I don't need any adapters.

I don't have any real complaints about this drive. It's pretty reliable, compact, holds up well, and pretty easy to use. High marks!

Needed space for my desktop at home and this was a great option for price compared to if I wanted to add storage internally.

Works out of the box with M1 Imac. Plenty of room for your data, which can be safely stored separately from your computer.

Needed this as an addition to my son's laptop, worked wonderfully to save my homework for online schooling. Love that it is durable as my one year old grandson stepped on it and it is still in pristine condition. Would recommend to anyone needing a portable hard drive.

This has been the sleekest and fastest drive I’ve ever owned

Rugged! I purchase product because I need to have the ability to use Internet explorer on my computer. Unfortunately I have a Mac book air, which will not facilitate Internet explore. It is basically a hard drive with a cover, which would’ve cost me nearly 20 bucks on top of the price of the hard drive. Men are visual creatures so the blue took it over the edge.

Very nice external hard drive that is built to last. Nice protective "armor" wrapped around the drive, which should protect it from accidental drops. It is UBS 3.1, so the data transfer rates are fast. Not as fast as an SSD drive, but fast enough. No problems with this drive so far. Good value for a good product.

Drive is Solid the only problem is that sometimes if the cable does not go all the way to the bottom of the adapter the disk will not connect so you have to do a little pressure. It is somewhat confusing, you think that I fit in well but it turns out that It don't

Bought this to store/edit video files while using fcpx. I have 2 young kids that destroy everything in their path, but this has yet to fall victim. The blue is an awesome color wish they would offer more Color choices though. Didn’t buy the extended warranty but I wish i did (just peace of mind if and when the gremlins kill this)

Great external drive to have. The rubber/ rugged exterior is extremely useful and reassuring. I’ve already offloaded footage in some less than ideal spaces. The write speeds are decent. Also being able to write on Mac or Windows straight out of the box is convenient.

I purchased this 1 TB drive to serve as a dedicated backup for my MacBook Pro. So glad a cable was included - the cable will work with both USB types, including the newer USB-C type. Speed/performance is excellent.

G-Technology makes the best hard drives, hands down. I have over 100TB across 20 hard drives and have yet to have any failures. Reliable, sturdy, and well-made. Anything G-Technology is worth getting. It's the superior hard drive.
