    The Garmin 52 is so much better than the Garmin 50. I had snd used the 50 for years. It fondly broke because of falling of car windshield so many times. The new 52 is clearer, better colors, faster and more finger sensitive. It is a great potable navigation unit.

    After using a TomTom for about 10 yrs, the accuracy of the Garmin is much better. I’m still trying to figure out some of the settings, to get the info displayed to meet my desires. I would like to see my chosen route more prominently displayed, especially on secondary streets. And, several of the icons, like gas stations and restaurants, I have not figured out how to hide. But, overall, I am pleased with the unit.

    It took some time for me to get used to the Drive 52 after enjoying almost 10 years of use from my Nuvi. First, the Drive 52 has a 17-page owner's manual, which I wish had been condensed down to about 4 or 5. It needed tech support to understand it and it's overloaded with options it would take me 6 months to try out. TMI!! Once I started just using it for navigating to addresses, it worked fairly well.You have to expect that at first when you key in an address, you'll get a long list of similar addresses all across the US as connecting it to the correct state takes time. The automated voice commands sound whiney rather than cloe to normal.
