Bought this to replace 8 yr old unit. really like the split screen that shows exit more clearly than old unit. I use this every day as a delivery drive. Only wish the software was tied into Google. Some time I have to use Google maps to get better address accuracy. Easy to setup and download for updates through computer.

This is the third Garmin we have bought- we love them. They are easier to use than the navigation systems in our vehicles and give us more information. The trip features are really helpful and everytime we buy one they have upgraded the features and content. Lifetime map upgrades are wonderful and easy to do

I don't even own a smart phone, so I needed this for getting around metro Chicago. The options such as avoid-tolls and avoid highways are very helpful. Lifetime maps and traffic condition monitoring are plusses that will keep this new-like. I thought the retail price (same as on Amazon) was fair for the value.

This is the New 2013 Model and I just love the Garmin "real voice". I even love more that it NEVER says Recalculating. It just simply grabs a new route and tells me where to turn next. The calculations are real fast, and I mean fast. It picks up the Satellites real quick too. If your looking for a Garmin, this is it.

After using an old GPS for several years, it was quite an adjustment to learn the newer model. However, after playing around with it, you realize that it offers many neat features (gas station locations, restaurants, etc.).

I had purchased the warranty 2 years ago, and when it started acting sporadic and I couldn't fix it, I returned if hot a new model. I love the improvements.

This is my second Garmin that I purchased. I like this one a lot because it has life time free traffic. The only feature I don't like is the on/off switch that is placed on the top left of the panel. This is bad because you literally need to hold the Garmin on that side to attach it to the holder.

I usually have had Magellan GPSs. As I have received map updates,things that used to be correct are now wrong. Finally got tired of that. The 2557 shows 5 fields at one time. Not always agree with the routing. However,that could happen with any GPS. It has 2 route timers. Very good unit.

I got this for my wife, i'm pretty much used to google maps - i think google maps has more current and optimized routing. one good thing i like is that i goto mapquest.com and put in a dozen addresses and it optimizes the entire route for me, i then connect a the gps to my computer and export the entire route form mapquest.com works like a charm for my sales calls.

The biggest downfall I have seen so far is that this device did not come with the usual book type owners guide. Had I of not owned a Gamin before I would have been at a loss of what everything meant on the screen and how to set up different things on this Garmin. I still cannot find one for this exact model on the web, as it gives me the one of a different model # not the 2557LMT that I bought. As some of the things on the screen I cant read/ see while driving, without my reading glasses, and so I'm not sure what they are, and would bot be safe to try to figure it out while driving. And I still have no idea what they are as I cant find those symbols in the book or on the device after the fact. This is my 3rd Garmin, and for the most part, I am a very happy with sticking with your company,

The GPS is easy to use. It is much easier to use than my previous one that I owned, although after having a different brand previously, it was easy to just pick up and use. I like the lifetime maps. It is compact. I like how it talks to you and tells you when to turn.

We own an older model of the Nuvi which we found very useful. I purchased the new one for the features the old one does not have. Have been using the new one for only a couple of weeks as it was purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. So far, we are pleased with the new unit.

easy to hook up and read, battery life is not the best but we usually have it plugged in. The only thing that really upset me was while traveling one trip we lost a signal and it sent us the opposite direction, we were talking so it took a few minutes to realize what had happened. We turned and finally got back on track, finishing with a wonderful trip.

This unit comes with no useful instructions, no manual and nothing on the website. If you have lots of time to experiment and like doing that sort of thing than fine, I did not have such luxury as I needed to pick it up directly before an out of town trip. This made for an aggravating experience as not all functions or adjustments are intuitively located. One major failure in my view is the lack of a total distance of the trip display which should then 'count down' to show remaining total distance during travel. Only the distance and time to the next turn is shown - the rest is a totally unnecessary mystery. I did get some traffic updates/warnings but they were on other roads so I can not assess their accuracy or usefulness. Visually the unit is fine and it starts up very quickly. Just got it so can not offer real durability data. The 'mile' icon looks like a "T" except under a magnifying glass - quite poor in my opinion and useless for older eyes.

My Magellan died on me so I decided to upgrade to the nuvi 2557. Have been using it for a few months now with no issues. I travel all over the country on a weekly basis with it and it has worked great for me. It has more features than I expected for the price.

It is fast and easy to put in the address needed. The maps are concise and so far accurate. Easy to use screens . We have used it in multiple states and helps find local facilities. On the map it is helpful that the gas stations and restaurants are noted along the route.

Thought I would try a Garmin after my trusty old Tom Tom was costing too much for map updates and didn't have traffic. Have only tried it locally, but seems easy to use and the large screen is great. Have set up saved locations and am exploring other options.

I like the style, size of the screen and accuracy.
